So, is that photo actually going to happen? 😁
Lost $10 million on Bloomberg. in Economy ·
goldentinker79 said:Spot on. Honestly, I’ve never felt a shred of sympathy for pure human stupidity or greed. It’s just hilarious how there is always—always—a market waiting to exploit human foolishness. Whether it's some shady acting scandal, the 2007 housing bubble, Madoff's mess, or messing around with the NASDAQ... it never ends. I’d bet my life savings that these gold certificates are going to end up in the exact same dumpster fire.

What does any of that have to do with how they lost their money? They were robbed, plain and simple—they didn't just lose it on the things mentioned above. Personally, I don't have an issue with it; I pick up a few shares here and there with a little pocket change, mostly on overseas exchanges—things like pharma or medical supplies. Good intel goes a long way. But yeah, regarding the greed part, I agree—everyone wants the cash without actually putting in the work.

It wasn't just regular people losing their shirts on the NASDAQ—it was the very guys who were supposed to be managing that money who ended up vanishing with it. Typical.
Best online payment cards? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Brenda Taylor13 said:I honestly don’t get why at Wells Fargo or Goldman Sachs you can just grab a VISA Electron card to go along with both your checking and your foreign currency accounts, while over at JP Morgan Chase or Bank of America, they make you tie it strictly to a foreign currency account. It makes zero sense—just feels like extra hoops to jump through.
Also, quick question for the experts here: is there actually any real difference between a VISA Electron issued by Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, or JP Morgan Chase? Like, is one somehow better, or is it all just the exact same plastic junk?
From what I’ve dealt with using my Bank of America one, it won't even work for anything online.

Personally, I have my Intel card at JP Morgan Chase linked to both my checking and my foreign currency account. It's all basically the same stuff—it's just that Zabiti blocks online transactions on things like PayPal or Moneybookers on their version.

Fifteen grams of Nescafe and about eight ounces of water shouldn't cost more than 3-$$1.25...

I made some linden flower syrup the exact same way—man, that stuff is top-tier. It’s not quite hitting the same high as the elderberry version, but it’s definitely right up there with it. 😉
Telepathy or just pure misery with AT&T and Nokia? in Miscellaneous ·
redmarlin3 said:Hey everyone over at Internet Explorer and my friends from Computer,
something happened to me today and I just felt like sharing it with you all.

Yesterday, I got hit with my AT&T bill for May.
The total came to $0.00. (In words: zero dollars and zero cents). 😲

Naturally, I called customer service immediately.
They told me I had "overpaid" some bullshit 😕 and because of that, I don't actually have to pay the bill for May. 😕
WELL, WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY BROKE... 🙄

I'm honestly too confused to write more about this, so feel free to jump in. 😕

What are you complaining about? This is basically their way of apologizing. Just before New Year's, I added that 10 MB mobile data pack, but they didn't apply it right away—ended up costing me about $30 extra on my bill. So I gave them a call, got my $10 back, they finally added the 10 MB, and they even threw in those 1,000 free texts that usually cost $8.25.
Best cards for online shopping? in Miscellaneous ·
It’s not even a big deal—you can basically tell them you don't need to send over monthly statements, and suddenly there aren't any fees to worry about.

Just head over to JPMorgan Chase and open a checking account—tell them you need it for some summer work—and they’ll hand you a Visa debit card. You can use it pretty much wherever you want. I personally have mine linked to AlertPay, MoneyBookers, and PayPal, and it works without any drama at all. 🙂

I think I’ll try experimenting with a kilo of berries to a liter of water—plus a kilo of sugar and a bit of citric acid. It won't be quite the same as making syrup out of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, or grapes, though. 🙂

The other day I managed to gather about 50 berries or so from my own patch—though I ran a little short on citric acid, and honestly, the juice is the real prize here. Has anyone else actually tried working with those specific berries? I see some chatter at the start of this thread, but nothing concrete enough to go on...
Give me a break—you guys don't know how to do anything except shut down a thread without a single word of explanation. A Governor ban works the same way.

It’s a bit further out from the dorms along the Mississippi—down toward Central Park on that street where Roko’s place is. About 300 yards down on the right, there’s this massive patch of overgrown bushes—lots of elderberry—that we were clearing last year while working at the residence hall. It was quite a job... 🙂

By the way—just don't try doing any work while you're drunk. There are way too many things inside that really shouldn't be messed with if you aren't sober. 😁

I’m mostly just curious—not just for this forum, but for any site out there that isn't officially "registered" using the owner's actual legal identity 🙂 Mike, oh please, you know damn well I still haven't quite figured out how to navigate a computer yet 😁

Just wanted to ask something—strictly for informational purposes, so please don't ban me. If someone were planning to take down a site like Reddit or this domain just to pivot to something else because the traffic is so good, could they actually face legal trouble from the feds?
Alright folks, thanks for the assist 🙂
Arthur Kim74 said:Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from, because while Chanel No. 5 is definitely such an iconic and classic scent, it feels more like something meant for women in their later years... I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone younger at all...

So, what would you suggest for a 21-year-old? 🙄I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff—😁not really my area.
Karen Cook51 said:Can you believe the price of Chanel No. 5 right now? It’s sitting at like $900 or something! Absolutely insane. I saw it the other day and almost walked out of the department store immediately. Honestly, at those prices, you'd think they were infusing the bottle with actual liquid gold or something. My cousin was telling me she used to get hers for a fraction of that back in the day, but hey, inflation hits everyone, I guess. Still, nine hundred bucks for a scent? That’s just wild.

absolute disaster.🙄

How many ml are we talking here? I don't need half a liter. 😁 They told me the 35ml bottle goes for roughly $40—$167. 🤷
I don't know—maybe I’m just getting old, or maybe I’ve just seen this movie too many times before. People always come around with these grand ideas, acting like they’ve stumbled onto some profound truth that everyone else missed. It’s the same pattern, over and over. You see it in the news, you see it in the streets—that desperate need to be "different" or "enlightened." Honestly? It usually just feels like noise to me. Just more clutter in an already crowded room. kaže:
Honestly, if you think Chanel No. 5 is the peak—it’s just not. You're better off looking for something else entirely. 😉

I need to pick up some birthday presents... I was browsing around the other day—I've got about 20 different colognes in my collection now—and realized I'm still missing this one. 🙂 What would I recommend? Honestly—that depends entirely on what you’re looking for. If you’re asking for life advice, I’d say keep your expectations low and your coffee strong—it makes the inevitable letdowns a lot easier to swallow. But if you mean something specific—a book, a movie, a place to grab a burger—you’re going to have to give me a little more to work with. I'm not exactly a mind reader, though I've been told I have my moments. So, lay it on me. What's the context? 😁
