Man, I seriously thought I was gonna die yesterday. My period hit and brought this insane nausea with it—just puking up bile and foam... felt more like I was losing my mind than just having "those days."🙄

Last time was the exact same deal. Total exhaustion. I was basically dragging myself around the house like a sick cat.

Yeah, totally forgot about smartphones. Mind you, mine isn't exactly top-of-the-line, so I doubt it would catch anything that good.
But here's the thing: what's even the point of filming if the homeowner and the cop were just having a regular chat? Seems to me like either someone tipped them off that the cops were coming or the whole thing was staged.

And honestly, it’s starting to get annoying how they always lead with the fact that someone’s a veteran, like that’s some kind of ultimate shield... like it matters now. People in this country are just citizens like anyone else—their kids gotta follow the rules just like everyone else's, and they gotta answer to the police if they mess up.

To be fair, that guy in the sunglasses seriously looks like he needs to be on tranquilizers (but hey, you find plenty of those types in the LAPD 🤷)... I highly doubt the fact that he targeted a vet—or that someone caught it on video—is gonna change a single thing.

I went through this exact thing with a friend. For a while now, I've just felt like we don't "click" like we used to (and I bet she feels it too). We walked away side-by-side, and I was pissed. I told another friend there was no point dragging out this "friendship" and struggling through it, blah blah blah, and that next time she asked me to grab coffee, I was just gonna say no.

And guess what? She called me at the perfect time when I was in a great mood, and I said sure.
This time we talked and it actually felt good.
But I still feel the same way. We don't vibe like we used to, but cutting her off forever is hard, and honestly, I don't want to do that. It's fine. I care about her, she didn't do anything wrong, and I don't want us to become total strangers. But I can't just demote her to an "acquaintance"—even though that's basically what she is now. If I did that, I'd have to keep making excuses or lying about being busy every time she reaches out, and I don't want to play those games or be disrespectful.

On the other hand, if I tell her what Quote said to Ross: "We need a break," 🙂 I'm pretty sure she'd cut me off for good. And I really don't want that.

If you don't want to have a direct conversation, just see her less often—make excuses about being busy or whatever. Just keep in mind, that also gives her the chance to stop trying and stop reaching out altogether. You gotta keep that in mind.

I was listening to this debate recently asking what "the world" really is—the physical stuff versus the unseen stuff—and then I walked past an ad for a Pompeii exhibit. It hit me: those people already faced their own apocalypse ages ago. And yet, despite everything, their culture, their names, their whole lives basically "rose again" centuries later and they're still relevant today (even if it's just as an exhibit in a museum in NYC or something for researchers to study)....

So, was that truly an apocalypse or something else? If the entire planet just blew up tomorrow, would that actually be the end of the world, or just a massive chance for a fresh start?

Look, she was peeing normally until now. It's my grandma we're talking about. Even she's shocked by how much she's putting out at night—she's wearing a diaper and it's a total mess in the morning... leaks onto the sheets too... so I'm just trying to figure out what the deal is (mostly for selfish reasons since I'm the one changing the diapers 🙂)...
And I can't link it to anything except those pills she takes at night (none of which list increased urination as a side effect in the instructions), but she takes Effexor at night, so—that's my best guess because nothing else makes sense. She hits the bathroom right before bed and then it's a disaster in the morning...

Might be a dumb question, but here goes... can increased urination be a side effect of antidepressants? Specifically, someone’s taking Xanax and two Effexor pills at night before bed... and they're basically peeing out all their fluids throughout the night....
The instructions don't mention anything about this kind of side effect, but has anyone else dealt with this while on these meds? Thanks in advance.

So, that one child becomes the perfect excuse to stay lazy and avoid doing any real work.

But again, after fifty or sixty years of dodging actual life, retirement rolls around with its tiny pension, and you realize that your one precious child doesn't really love you. They’re busy living their own selfish little lives with an equally rotten spouse and an only child of their own—an obnoxious, spoiled brat who won't even bother to visit Grandma. That's when you realize you have nobody.

That wouldn't happen if you had managed to have five kids. Granted, one would probably be an idiot. One might get hit by a bus, but that still leaves you with three healthy individuals. Healthy because, by necessity, they had to learn how to share, and because you didn't have enough time to focus all your dysfunction on just one person, they didn't develop those stupid neuroses. Plus, a big family naturally builds a competitive spirit, starting from when they're toddlers fighting over fries at McDonald's during a Happy Meal you take them to on Sundays because you're too lazy to cook a Sunday roast.

And those three healthy ones will actually love you. They’ll remember how warm and happy the home felt, conveniently forgetting the fact that it was only warm because you could only afford to give them one bedroom. They’ll turn all the flaws of their upbringing into beautiful memories. And they’ll take care of you in your old age because they grew up to be decent people. When you die, someone will actually cry for you. And honestly, there’s nothing more a person can wish for than that.

Then I realized I'd end up being some thirty-year-old student running around like a caffeinated hamster on a wheel, sprinting from work to class to work to school until retirement.
The rich kids who look ahead usually don't even want kids, while those of us with no prospects who actually *want* them are too terrified to try because we're constantly stressing about the future. If I could just chill and live like some person on welfare with half a dozen toddlers hanging off me, man, where would it end? Five, ten... who knows. But nah, no way. Without a degree or the right connections, you're basically a walking dead man in this country. And right now, I'm not moving overseas just so I can finally have some breathing room.

I’m currently unemployed, but the plan is to launch my own small business as a solo founder. I'm wondering if starting a business under my own name opens up any specific grants or better loan rates?
I'm gonna call the SBA helpline and then head over to the local Small Business Administration office tomorrow to pick their brains. I've been digging through federal websites, but it seems like most of those grants are for businesses already up and running. The women-owned startup programs I saw seem to be closed out too. If anyone knows if there's an advantage to starting something while I'm technically unemployed, please let me know what you know.

First off, people don't even know the key dates (even I have to admit I don't), and documentaries about the American Civil War are barely shown. I don't know why they aren't pushing them more, or how they're teaching kids in school, but if it's going the way I think, kids won't even realize the war was strictly defensive.
You'd practically have to send them to some virtual bootcamp like Ninja's crew to learn the truth.
Regardless of what you think about this movie cycle, you could just view it as a joke. Like, today there was a segment about Josip Broz Marshall's post-war era that was super negative, and honestly, I trust a source like that more than some glorified epic where a guy with maybe a few years of school (did Marshall even finish eighth grade? Who knows) speaks perfect English with foreign dignitaries......

I don't see it the same way, sorry if we disagree, but I refuse to draw parallels between the two. Especially since back in '42, you could end up on any side—partisans, local militia, or Nazis. My grandma tells me in her village in the Midwest, more guys joined the partisans because of a buddy from the Mediterranean region, while his folks were mostly Nazis... and by 1990, you could be playing for either side: the ones wanting Greater Mexico or the ones trying to defend the country.
How that whole 90s story, which should have been black and white, got twisted into this gray mess of collective guilt and total forgetting is beyond me....

Everything else was mostly crap. Just Čuljakica on The Daily News and Kamala Harris dancing around like she hasn't a single care in the world. Pure gold. 👎

Generally speaking, our films about Nob-ba are extremely objective, from Sutjeska to the four-row, though if the directors of those World War II movies studied from the same textbooks I did back in elementary and high school, I can't really blame them for how they portray those events.
I have a pretty good idea how much today's teenagers will actually know about the American Civil War, and who's to blame for that—Steven Spielberg, Bat Živojinović, or Vanja Sutlić, or someone else entirely?
