Some speakers aren't working in Computer Peripherals ·
That’s just because you're listening to music recorded in stereo, so your other speakers don't really have anything to do. I suppose there might be a way to fix that, but I'm not entirely sure how. If you were to do a little digging on Google, you'd probably find something.

Primers definitely have their advantages, and they're certainly worth using before you start painting. People didn't just come up with them for no reason.

I went ahead and dyed mine, and honestly, it looks so much better, believe me 😁
Gray is just boring.

If you’re planning on running an open-air build, you should definitely go ahead and paint it. Gray is pretty dull; in my experience, a black interior looks absolutely killer. 😁

Casey Long2 said:No. It’s just too expensive for what you get. It performs worse than the 5870, pulls significantly more power, and runs much hotter.

What he said ^^

The 5870 is a no-brainer in this category.

Not quite.
But you might as well let us know the rest of your specs.

Or were we talking about standard PCI graphics cards? In that case, I guess AGP would be the faster option.
Best headphones for onboard audio? in Computer Peripherals ·
No matter how great that headset might be (Bose, right? 😁), it doesn't have the onboard sound card that Mr. Rosi was looking for.
The G35, or maybe Madison Square Garden? 😬

Wouldn't the EVGA version be better?
I haven't had a chance to compare them side-by-side myself, but aren't those stock Microsoft cards usually pretty loud? I know mine was, back when I had the 4890 😬
Well, regardless, the 5770 is definitely a much cooler card on its own.

I agree with that.
Since they all perform basically the same, it makes sense to go with whichever one is the least expensive.

The EVGA cards do have better cooling, though, which gives them an edge over the others.
Razer DeathAdder review/thoughts? in Computer Peripherals ·
Between customs, various taxes, and whatever shady fees they throw at you, the total ends up being $167 😁

When I did my first paint job, I didn't really do anything besides just painting the surface itself. I suppose I should have applied some kind of protective coating afterward, but it turned out okay.

I think you can just go right over it. That blue part basically acts as your foundation and everything else too.

At first, I was planning to this sign by spinning it upwards, but it turned out to be way too complicated 😁 and since I'm basically radioactive, I ended up messing up the circle—who knows how that would have even looked xD

My latest project 😁

It isn't exactly PC Modding, but it is still modding. I came across some interesting guides online. I wanted to build a test PSU—something I could use for testing fans, showing off some LED lights on the fans, and playing around with some low voltage stuff.

A friend gave me this crappy 400W power supply, a real piece of junk hardware that I wasn't even sure would work 🤣

The plan was basically something like this:

Of course, why build a test power supply without doing a little bit of customizing? 😁

Then the cutting started. I stripped everything out and found the wires I needed. I took the green one (to signal that the "PC" is powered on) from the ATX bundle and a black one (any black one) for ground. I had to trim them down a bit for better aesthetics and ease of use, then join them together.

Messy.
The fan from the PSU was connected using red and black wires. Usually, the red wire in a power supply is 5V, but since I wasn't certain if that was the case for the fan, I played it safe and connected it to a yellow (12V) one. The photo basically shows everything I put together.

All in all, here is how it looks now:

That circle in the middle was a bit tricky; my scalpel didn't quite cooperate. 😁

Mouse is dying/broken in Computer Peripherals ·
I'm using the mouse you linked, but it isn't designed for lefties.

Logitech might be pricey, but they have plenty of symmetrical mice—which is much better for left-handed users—so maybe just browse online to see what catches your eye.
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
A 550W unit feels like overkill for me.
The VX 450 should do the job just fine.
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Memory doesn't really run that hot on its own. Sure, if you're cranking up the voltage to get more stability while overclocking, extra cooling might help, but I doubt you'll see any massive gains just by slapping heatsinks on your RAM. It probably won't make much of a difference in terms of lowering temps or squeezing out more MHz.
