Slow metabolism: What actually works? in Health ·

Well, damn.
Wouldn't want to be in your shoes.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
I used to deal with awful cramps—mostly deep aches in my pelvis, lower back, and just generally throughout my lower abdomen... plus, my breasts would get super tender.
Then I started doing belly dance, and honestly, the pain just vanished.
Now? Nothing hurts, except maybe the occasional struggle with a tampon lol.

Chew your food a bit longer and give those flaxseeds a shot. I usually take three tablespoons with a glass of water, mostly in the evening.

Also, I’d suggest trying to get things moving in the morning right after your coffee.
The best move is to have your coffee and maybe a granola bar on an empty stomach, hit the restroom, and then wait about thirty minutes to an hour before you actually eat breakfast.
mellownomad3 said:So, I had unprotected sex last night—was on day 10 of my cycle. He finished inside, and I usually have a pretty regular 28-day cycle. But there’s more to it... I was taking Triquilar until last month, but I actually missed my last dose entirely. My period showed up a day early, naturally. Could any of this be connected? Please let me know—I really don't want to start pumping myself full of hormones if it's not necessary.😕

Oof... you're right on the edge. Honestly, I'd say the odds are probably in your favor for not getting pregnant, but you’re definitely hovering right near that fertile window. So, what now? If a little one shows up... well, wishing you nothing but the best! 🙂
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I'm heading in for a full oral exam with Dr. Štimac—it's been four months since my last checkup.

Honestly, I’d recommend him to anyone.
Best way to swallow pills? in Health ·
I honestly don't get how someone can struggle with swallowing a pill.

It’s definitely psychological.
You probably have some deep-seated trauma regarding pills, and now you're subconsciously trying to prove to yourself that it's just a normal pill—something any sane person could swallow without a second thought.

I mean, I can knock back five Ibuprofen at once (and you saw how big those things are)
Well, okay... I did have my tonsils out a long time ago, so maybe there's a physical factor there...
But I'm telling you, it's mental. I know plenty of people who can't swallow a single pill even though they're perfectly healthy and physically capable.
It's funny... they could probably bolt down a massive steak, but a tiny little pill is where they draw the line. It's clearly just a fear or a bad vibe toward medication.

Just relax and you'll be fine.

Quick question... how long are you actually letting the pill sit on your tongue before you take a sip of water to wash it down?
Why am I always so tired? in Health ·
I’m with you on that—my blood pressure is running low too.

Why aren't you at least sipping on some coffee or black tea?

Honestly, I’d tell the OP to steer clear of all those pills and "forced" sleep methods...
I'm not saying they don't work... nothing beats the sleep I get after a couple of Xanax or Praxiten... but man... it's just not a long-term fix.

As for Sanvale, I actually had hallucinations from it, and the pills weren't helping anyway... my sleep was shallow, I had nightmares... or I’d just wake up constantly.

In my opinion, the core issue with insomnia is basically mental entropy—you just have to get your thoughts organized.

It would probably help if you found a single, calming thought to latch onto right before you drift off.

Don't go digging through the drama or the crap that happened to you today, or even last week... there's always time for that later... but that window right before bed? Definitely not the time for it.

At least it works for me... I can be out in 10-15 minutes.

stormyheron4 said:You might not realize this, but you’re actually playing Russian roulette with respiratory cancer by doing that.

Here’s the deal: when people quit smoking, their lung lining starts to repair itself. But once that tissue heals—which some say takes about six months of being clean—it doesn't have the same defensive setup it had when you were a heavy smoker. If you pick up again right then, it hits those cells like a sledgehammer. It creates massive stress on the system, making them much more prone to turning malignant than if you had just kept smoking steadily.

Some studies even suggest that former smokers who relapse just 30 times (not 30%, I mean 30 individual cigarettes) face a higher cancer risk than people who never stopped smoking at all.

Wow, I honestly had no idea.

Does the same logic apply if I just take "breaks" from smoking every month or two?

Keep in mind, when I am actually in a smoking phase, I'm averaging maybe five cigarettes a day.

Why not just jump straight to heroin? No issues there. Highly recommended... seriously, anything goes.😳

And don't act like you're stupid—only truly clueless people don't realize they're being dumb. You came here specifically to stir the pot, plain and simple. It’s honestly pathetic, especially with so many people on this forum dealing with actual health crises. We have folks fighting lung cancer who can't even get their meds. Have some shame.
Check out the stories in these links. These are people who unfortunately didn't have that "bad feeling" you're whining about, and now they'd give anything to go back. Your little discomfort is nothing compared to what they're going through:

I wasn't trying to provoke anyone. That's just how your twisted mind interprets things.
You're just sitting there waiting for someone to start an argument so you can play the martyr.

Please. Just spare me.

I just wanted to see if anyone else was dealing with the same thing I am. And as you can see... some people said they feel the exact same way.

Well?

Cut the crap, Angela Wright. I wasn't trolling; I was being dead serious.

@ Laura Mendoza - I don't know why I even bother. At the end of the day, I just want to get my life together and move on. It's my call.🙂

@ stormyheron4 - Can you actually explain what you mean by that?

Anthony Wilson4 said:Haha... man, I’d love to know too. I’m dealing with almost the exact same thing—that constant nausea and dizziness combined.

Honestly, I think it’s just low blood pressure.
Have you actually checked yours lately?

Look, I’m not one of those people who smokes the second they wake up. That’s never crossed my mind. I always wait until I've eaten or had some coffee, just enough to get my pressure up so it isn't bottoming out.
But even then, I still feel like crap.

I’ve got this weird thing happening.
It’s probably just my low IQ, so please don't come for me—I’m already fully aware of it.

But for the last few years, I’ve been trying to get myself hooked on cigarettes.
I smoke a couple a day... sometimes I'll even go through half a pack.

The problem is, every single cigarette makes me feel terrible. Every. Single. One.

Then, there are times when I just can't stand the smell or taste, so I won't touch one for a month. But then I'll grab coffee with my girlfriends, and it feels so awkward that I feel like I need a cigarette just to have something to do with my hands.

For context, I have low blood pressure.
And asthma.

Look... it doesn't really matter why I'm trying to become a smoker...
The point is... why can't I just get used to them like a normal person?
Why does my body fight it so hard?

I honestly just want to light up one time and think to myself:
"Wow... this actually feels great..."
Because it seems like everyone who smokes... like it actually does something for them.
But for me, every time, I just get dizzy and nauseous.

I'm not kidding. Seriously.

Why does this happen? Nicotine addiction hits most people so fast—so why isn't it working for me?
