So, my boyfriend finished inside me on January 31st, but my period actually started back on January 27th—which would have been day five of my cycle.
What are the actual odds of me being pregnant right now???
It’s been about 15 days since that potential conception window. Is it even worth using a pregnancy test at this stage, or will it just be a waste of money?!!

Thanks

How am I supposed to know without knowing how long your cycle usually lasts?

If you have a 21-day cycle, yeah, you might be pregnant.

But if you're on a standard 28-day cycle... man, I don't even know what to say.

Jeremy Phillips94 said:Didn't someone mention in that HPV thread that about 70% of sexually active people get it? And I think herpes is pretty much in the same ballpark... if I remember right, those little cold sores around your mouth count as a type too.

I was talking about HPV. It feels like every other person... sorry, but that’s just insane. Either the stats are wrong or something else is up.

Jeremy Phillips94 said:Honestly, I feel like every other person you run into has herpes or HPV these days, so don't sweat it too much... pretty sure neither one actually has a cure either...

Every other person. Yeah, right. Sure did.

Sure thing.
We’re talking herpes and HPV, just to be safe.
shadowtrucker18 said:I mean, why even bother stopping there? You could just take his clothes, leave him to deal with the cold water, and let the frost take its course...

It seems to me you raised a fool, and now that you're stuck with one, you're suddenly complaining about the results. 😕

Well, isn't that just wonderful. ☕

Yeah. Just like kicking a dealer out of your house—that's exactly what needs to happen.

You think this is just about someone nursing an inferiority complex?

Nah. Look, old friend, we're just rationalizing everything at this point.

Caring about a criminal is basically just being an accomplice.

If he’s going to take this all the way to the end... does he really have to drag his whole family down with him?

Look, if we’re talking about my kid getting mixed up in this kind of business, I’d pack my bags and walk out the door right now. It wouldn't be because I'm being petty or trying to save face for me and my husband—it would be purely to keep them safe. I'm doing it for their own good, plain and simple.

Look, kicking your own kid out isn't easy. It eats at you. But sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done. If you keep coddling them, you’re just raising someone who won't be able to stand on their own two feet when life actually gets heavy. You can't let them grow up to be helpless.
Yeah. Kick him out of the house.

I honestly don't think I'll ever wrap my head around how little self-respect a woman needs to have to actually take these pills.

Either you're being sarcastic, or you seriously need a refresher course on punctuation if you want people to understand you.
In case it wasn't obvious enough—I definitely DON'T want her dealing with more infections. That’s the whole point of this; otherwise, we wouldn't even be talking about it.
Besides, I don't think anyone can tell me how much of a difference condoms make for ME during sex, especially from a woman's perspective.

P.S. She keeps getting these infections because of me, yet her doctor can't find any specific bacteria. That's the issue. I even went in for a swab once to test for three specific types.

I'm with you on all counts.

First off—condoms. As a woman, I feel like it shouldn't matter much to me one way or the other... but honestly, I can feel a tiny difference, and I certainly wouldn't want my guy feeling like he's constantly hooking up with a piece of plastic wrapped around him.

Second—you mentioned doctors make mistakes. I'm not an expert on this specific medical stuff, but from experience, most doctors act like they've got a direct line to God and nothing else matters. Honestly, the closed-mindedness in medicine is pretty gross.
I think you should look for a few more "expert" opinions, maybe talk to someone who leans more toward holistic or alternative medicine.

Third—you aren't going to get much helpful advice on a site like Reddit. 🙂

Good luck.
Hymenotomy procedure in Women's Health ·
Oh, please. What a joke.
The guy clearly doesn't have enough going on down there, so he should probably focus on himself instead.
And she’s sitting there acting all high and mighty, claiming her Hymen is too tough to break... I mean, wtf? How old is she? 83? Has her Hymen grown roots or something?
crimsoncobra972 said:My diagnosis involves symptoms from several different disorders, but to keep it simple, let's just call it bipolar disorder with psychotic features. I was diagnosed about two and a half years ago. About six months after I started treatment—during which time I was using various drugs pretty frequently—my condition didn't get any worse or better. This was totally different from a girl I met at the psychiatric clinic who spiraled into acute psychosis after using weed and alcohol (and she used way less than I did on a daily basis). It felt like she had mild symptoms before, but then it hit her hard. So, you can't say that those warnings on medication labels—like "DO NOT mix with opioids or alcohol"—apply to everyone. They write that because there are certain cases where it causes issues, and they have to include it since they can't predict how an individual will react. For instance, mixing alcohol, LSD, and speed with Zyprexa, Seroquel, Phenergan, and Cipralex almost every single day didn't change my status one bit, so mentioning those warnings feels unnecessary to me. Anyway, I'm getting off track again.
So, Morgan Davis11 is actually right 😛. As for the original topic... I don't know how intense your depression is, but try changing your diet and looking into some sports. Find something you actually enjoy. Working out really helped me. I've been doing Muay Thai for three years now, and that high intensity is great. When you have an intense trainer, your adrenaline spikes just from the fear that he might pin you against the wall if you don't perform. 😁

I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't even start this thread. I don't need advice; I know how to help myself.

And if you look closer, I was actually the one who just said it's better to fix your diet than to rely on chemicals.

Unbelievable.
Morgan Davis11 said:I consider myself to possess an above-average intellect—and please, I am not boasting, merely establishing a foundational fact necessary for this discussion—but if one possesses any actual experience with substances, or has ever bothered to investigate how narcotics affect the human psyche, one would realize that the impact is far from universal. When people make those sweeping, superficial claims about how a certain film or a specific substance "hit" them, they miss the nuance entirely. It is an empirical reality that for some individuals, even harder substances have a muted effect, and they seem to tolerate them, much like their tolerance for alcohol, with a disconcerting ease. Conversely, for others, drugs don't serve as an escape at all; instead, they act as a brutal amplifier, merely intensifying the pre-existing internal chaos—be it anxiety or mania—rather than providing the sanctuary of oblivion they were seeking.

Yeah, you're clearly a genius. Your brilliance is totally obvious from everything you've posted here.
Nicole Allen10 said:Man, I really can't stand sunflower seeds. They’re just way too salty for my liking, and honestly, I haven't figured out a decent way to snack on them without feeling like I'm consuming pure sodium.

I was just giving Star an example. A woman your age really should be able to stop taking everything so incredibly literally.
Morgan Davis11 said:Out of those three options, marijuana was the only thing that provided even a modicum of relief, offering a slight sense of calm and mental clarity; however, let’s be honest—when you are reaching that level of sheer, unadulterated tension where absolutely everything grates on your nerves and your anxiety is redlining, all those supplements and pills are nothing more than expensive garbage.

Oh please, who are you even talking to here?

You're basically a walking case study on how smoking weed can actually tank your IQ.
Why are you guys even bothering with those vitamin pills? Honestly, they’re pretty gross...

What's so hard about just fixing your diet? Swap out the potato chips for some sunflower seeds, or grab an apple instead of a cookie...
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
analogcobra13 said:It’s my first time jumping into this thread. I’ve been lurking and reading through everyone else’s experiences, and honestly... there are just so many...

Here is what my pain actually looks like:
About three or four days before everything hits, my lower back starts aching. It’s a constant dull throb, but nothing I can't handle without reaching for the medicine cabinet.
Then, things start to shift... slowly at first. For those first two or three days, while I am 🙂 praying to God to spare me from the absolute agony that's coming.
Then, on day three or four, I’ll wake up feeling totally fine. I eat breakfast, life seems normal. Then, out of nowhere, I have to sprint to the bathroom because this brutal diarrhea kicks in. And while I’m sitting there—sorry for the TMI, but this is the reality of it😍—I get these unbearable back spasms so intense they actually make me vomit. At some point in the middle of that chaos, I’ll swallow two Advil, but of course, once the vomiting starts, they don't even stand a chance of kicking in.
At the same time, I’m sweating buckets, looking pale as a ghost like I’m literally dying, and shaking because I’m hit with these massive chills all at once.

And then, quite literally, I am dying from the pain. It’s hitting me from every angle, but the agony is so soul-crushing that I would gladly let them strip me naked and rush me to the ER just to get a shot of something for the pain. But I can’t go anywhere because I can't stop vomiting and running to the bathroom. In those moments, you lose every ounce of dignity. Nothing matters except someone, somewhere, helping me.
The only thing that keeps me sane is knowing it’ll pass in an hour or two.
But even then, it drags on. I can't even begin to describe it or do it justice here. It is pure, unadulterated torture. I start mumbling nonsense from the pain, I’m twisting and turning, I can’t even sit on the toilet... It is a total NIGHTMARE!
Last time, I was actually negotiating with my husband (after one of these episodes, which, by the way, happen every month or two) about just buying a heavy-duty inflatable lounger so I could suffer lying down. Honestly, it sounds easier.

After that, the whole ordeal drags on for another five or six days, and that’s if I’m having a "good" one!
I even get similar pains around ovulation. No vomiting then, but everything else is exactly the same.
I have seen every gynecologist in the state, and they all tell me everything is perfectly normal. I’m at a healthy weight, and nobody in my family has ever dealt with pain this extreme...
I usually start popping Advil every single morning during those days...

So, yeah... that's my life.

Oh man. That sounds awful. I am seriously sorry you're going through that.

How do you even deal with it? Like... does your job give you a break when this happens?

Have you found any way to manage it yet?
Quitting caffeine: How's it going? in Health ·
If you’re cutting out coffee, listen up: you need to drink a ton of water throughout the day. It makes the withdrawal symptoms way less brutal.

I started by switching from strong brewed coffee to just one spoonful of instant coffee in the morning.
Then I cut it out entirely. Instead of my usual cup, I’d grab a Gatorade first thing, then load up on fruit—mostly apples—and drink plenty of fluids until lunch. Honestly, no headaches and I didn't feel sluggish at all. If my focus dipped in the afternoon, I'd just have another Gatorade, maybe five total throughout the day.

I have low blood pressure, so coffee used to be a great stimulant for me, but it would give me these jittery shakes and bouts of anxiety. I finally decided enough was enough.

Now? I’m pretty mellow without it. It’s not like I’m depressed or unmotivated, it’s just... I don't feel that hyperactive rush anymore. My thoughts are steadier. It's hard to get worked up or annoyed.
So, my advice... stick to lots of fluids and fruit. It keeps your energy up and feels refreshing without that frantic, nervous edge you get from caffeine.

*And fair warning, I was a massive addict—I was knocking back a liter of strong coffee every single day.
