Handball World Cup: USA vs. Poland (28-24) in Other Sports ·
What on earth was Schola doing over in Sweden?? Was he out there trying to charm some Swedish women?? Or just running through drills with the American women during those exhibition games????

It seems to me that everyone is playing under immense pressure. They likely entered this World Cup tournament knowing that things aren't exactly clicking within the national team right now.

Watch out.

That’s exactly how you handle a coward.

They need to strip Gobčev of his position immediately. It would serve as a necessary lesson for everyone else. We’ve had enough games and nonsense with the national handball team. This isn't Gobčev's private playground to run however he wants. And now he's actually blaming Ivano for it... seriously, give it a rest, Gobčev.
Ivano is an athlete. So what if he loses his cool once in a while?

The absolute worst-case scenario is being forced to work alongside someone who lacks even basic competence. And Goluza is exactly that kind of person.

And we've been playing like this since the tournament started...

To the satisfaction of all the Poland fans out there...

I’m holding out hope that Slafko might pull yet another "gem" out of his magic hat of surprises.
In all likelihood, handball academies will be studying this new defensive approach based on the principles of Goluza's genius. The way opponents slice right through our 6-0 defense, or how we somehow find ourselves at a disadvantage even when playing with a man advantage—that's going to be a specialized course taught at kinesiology departments in countries that actually take handball seriously.
Those focused on offensive plays will likely be scratching their heads again, wondering how a team as tactically literate as ours fails to create a numerical advantage when playing with an extra man, instead constantly finishing attacks right through the middle.
I am genuinely curious about our conversion rate when we have a man advantage—how often did we actually capitalize on it? And specifically, what do our statistics look like in that department against heavyweights like Denmark, Sweden, or Mexico?

Ultimately, I want a win, but given the level of play we showed against the "heavier" teams, combined with the mental state of the players on the court—not to mention the so-called coaching staff—there isn't much reason for optimism.

And honestly, how much long-term optimism can we even have with this GG duo and their questionable intentions?

If we actually pull off a win today, I fear for the long haul.

For years to come, this will probably be the extent of our connection to the sport. I remember when the European and World Championships were staples in every American sports fan's living room—for nearly a decade, they were top-tier sporting events. It’s painful to see how far things have slipped.

Invaluable.

That isn't going to happen,
as long as Copland is on the court, success is pretty much a foregone conclusion.☕

Nathan Barrett32 said:GO POLAND! Just tear us apart into our basic components at this point. I have zero interest in the Olympics, and I certainly don't want to witness yet another platform used to peddle Gobchev's so-called "talents." I’m done watching them disrespect our true legends like Balić, Metlicic, Spoljaric, and Sulic. GO POLAND.

Exactly. And honestly, the way Gomez and his whole crew operate is just pathetic. It's frankly embarrassing.

Mark Parker7 said:Goluža blew his shot. Now he’ll have to grind through some remedial work, maybe earning a second chance after 250 league games. Perhaps. Or perhaps not.

He could coach ten thousand games, but he simply lacks the polish required to be a national team head coach.

Pathetic.

Now it’s up to Ninčević, the Americans, the Cop, Musa, Šega, and the rest of the younger guys to step up and prove themselves.

And we're letting Goluža take the lead???

Give me a break.
Robert Cruz5 said:Handball has turned into a game where the referees are the ones actually winning.

It’s no surprise Balić mentioned how much he despises the state of handball lately; he feels the officiating has completely gutted the integrity of the sport.
It's the truth—when you have organized corruption like this, the entire sport ends up being dismantled by the very people meant to protect it.
