steelharbor9 said:Wait, was I the only kid who thought "Scream of the Falcon" was some kind of formal greeting or something?

No? 😢

😢

Man, what kind of ridiculous name is Bjern Ajnar Remeren? 🙏

Those Scandinavians were absolutely unhinged. You’ve got guys like Lars Bystol or Roar Ljhegoiwhoighwoieghowsey... even this Remeren dude seemed like the type of guy who'd break world records one day and then just decide to drive Haradu all the way out of Lillehammer the next.

And don't even get me started on Martin Schmitt—that guy's face is just annoying, always acting like he's against everything Milwaukee.

And yeah, I completely blanked on the Hautamaki brothers. 🙏 🙏

God bless America, Hautamaki🙏

Then there’s Mugabe, where they're all like, "well, he was the GOAT when it comes to staying in power." 🙏

Anyway, we can't let this slide without a little shoutout—congrats to Byron on the rotation! I guess even sesve would be embarrassed by this.

The sheer value of those troops was measured in the trillions 🙏

Charles Roberts33 said:Starting with the Roman Emperors, I have a real soft spot for those who managed to maintain order and restore even a flicker of the Empire's former glory while navigating chaotic, decadent eras surrounded by complete incompetents—think guys like Aurelian, or our own Valentine. 😉

But if we're talking absolute TOP1, for me, it’s Marcus Aurelius. Purely sentimental reasons.

Good recommendations. Check out GQ; it's some interesting reading.

Can't let this one go by unnoticed 🤣 🤣 🤣

steelharbor9 said:We're talking about military leaders, or at least people connected to them🤷

But yeah, totally top tier🤣

For the uninitiated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_French_(murderer).

God, this damn subreddit... every single time I write a post about someone, I get this little wave of anxiety wondering if they've already been picked so I can mention them🤣 🤣

My bad, misread that

If we're strictly sticking to military leaders, then Sedgwick is #1

He is remembered for his ironic last words: "They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance."

man, honestly, French Fries is #1

Back when Alexander was just 21, one of his own knights told him straight up that he was the greatest leader anyone had ever seen

Honestly, that Olympics channel is such a goldmine. You can find a massive variety of stuff on there—things you’d probably never bother watching otherwise (though, let's be real, the current situation changes everything)

Like, three weeks ago I was watching this Italian woman doing rhythmic gymnastics, and man, she had absolutely no clue just how much physical stuff is actually possible out there

It also makes me think back to Wayde van Niekerk taking down Johnson. I don't think I'll be seeing anything that wild happen again anytime soon, if that's even possible.

Honestly, only one guy has ever had a legendary name, and that’s Hidehar Miyahira

Man, it just sounds so smooth when you say it out loud🙏

He was always rocking those helmets that looked straight out of a Hannibal Lecter movie🙏

🙏🙏

The second he drops that "I don't have problems with the murder" line, everything just clicks.🙏

Individual Sports - Lance Armstrong (I guess Usain Bolt is his only real competition)

Every single time I listen to Bill Burr try to defend Armstrong, it drives me nuts. Like, why didn't the people who kicked him out just give back all the money they made off him?

"why don't they return their yachts?" 🤣

Man, when it came to jumpers, Funaki was my icon

What a legend, what an absolute machine 🙏

That’s basically why Tim Duncan is my favorite basketball player

Susan Kim2 said:Not even close, if you ask me. Whether you're looking at the chaos in the city, the region, or just the massive scale of everything else—it doesn't matter. This franchise was barely relevant for a three or four-year stretch in its entire history before LeBron James showed up.

So who exactly was killing them during that little three or four-year stretch? 🤣

Even Pinochet didn't have much trouble with Chile.

By the way, I just stumbled upon the Wikipedia entry.
The intro on Pinochet:
Augusto José Ramón Pinochet Ugarte (Valparaíso, November 25, 1915 – Santiago, December 10, 2006), statesman, general, and President of Chile. He led a four-man military junta[1] that overthrew socialist President Allende in 1973. His rule lasted until 1990. Later, he implemented economic reforms that aided the development of the Chilean economy.

Is there even a single fascist dictator they don't find a way to glorify?

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
