Is anyone actually thinking about how if this becomes the norm, we won't even need vouchers?
I mean, with these vouchers, they're just fishing for the same damn data you give up at the ticket window anyway, right?
Are we really gonna celebrate "beating the system" this Sunday by bypassing the vouchers and just buying tickets at the booth by showing our IDs?
What did we actually achieve? Nothing. We're still stuck in the system.
We're in the system regardless. Between season tickets for Home games, being logged everywhere else, and every single person who goes to more than a couple away games—we're tracked. Hell, I got logged recently in San Diego and that wasn't even an away game! And don't even get me started on the logging at the Harbor... not to mention those A and B lists that apparently last forever...
To me, fighting against this whole voucher craze is more about the group's obligation to stick it to the mafia than it is JUST about avoiding being logged. You have to hand over your info anyway. I mean, for the penultimate game at Dodger Stadium, you practically have to show your ID. Sure, you might slip through easier one time or another, but most people will end up leaving their data behind eventually—whether it’s at a convenience store, the entrance, the Harbor, near a hospital, out on the highway, or at some local bar...
These four voucher releases are going to cause a massive uproar, and then what? We'll just be handing our names over at the ticket windows anyway, dammit.😁
By the way, I'm reading that starting next year, personalized tickets will be
mandatory for licensing at
every single stadium...
