Johnny said:Do you guys even realize the kind of insane mental toughness this guy has? He comes back onto the field just days after a brutal knee injury—yeah, Peter—and then he goes out there last night and hammers home six goals.
Seriously, it’s unheard of. Usually, players are sidelined for months, but this dude is back at 100% in half an hour. It’s a straight-up phenomenon.

There's just one Peter Metličić.🙏 🙏 🙏

I've got a really good feeling about this afternoon.👍

Thomas Flores2 said:You think our handball guys ever drop by to see what we're talking about on here? 😉 😁

Maybe... but they're too busy jerking off to pool and scrolling through the web anyway.😁

Who gives a damn about their training sessions?😂

The replay is set for 11:55 PM tonight unless they decide to screw with the schedule at the last minute.😉

😁 😁
Man, I watched the whole match while over in Germany, and I’m seriously kicking myself for not hearing Boza Susec’s commentary.
Was he busy hyping us up to the moon?😁

But what do you think... you know how he gets...😁

Get on your feet and give a massive round of applause to these geniuses playing handball from another dimension...

Celebrate, hug it out, kiss, grab a drink😁

Or how about Ivano and Balić—bravo to Balić there😁

Sušec is the man.🙏

The mods or the guy who actually owns this site? 🙏

Honestly? Don't bother talking to anyone... they aren't gonna lift a finger for you anyway.😉

Thomas Flores2 said:Seriously, I think we should just add a Handball subforum. There are handball championships every single year, so it would be great to have everything organized in one spot. 🙂
Plus, we really need to get more eyes on the pro club leagues. 😎

Man, you're barking up the wrong tree.😉

Maybe they’ll actually use their brains next time.

What subforum even matters...

It’s obvious they couldn't even manage to assign a damn moderator 🙄

Davor DOMINIKOVIĆ:
Screw the gamblers.
I absolutely wrecked the bookies today—dropped two goals right in their faces. It’s honestly kind of insulting when the odds are that high on me scoring, but you know what? That disrespect just fuels me to go even harder. In those last ten or fifteen minutes, we were both gasping for air, barely standing. We weren't playing against some brick wall; they just completely hit the wall themselves. Between the two of us being exhausted, we were basically running on fumes. Huge shoutout to the whole squad, especially Schola for that massive save that secured this win. For their final attack, the plan was to drop back into a 3-2-1 defense and just draw fouls to bleed the clock. We didn't pull it off, but man, thank God for Schola! And seriously, why the hell was Spreme taking that shot during our last possession? I don't know anything about the offense; I'm a defensive guy through and through...

Just a crazy guy from San Diego😂

Look, Yoshkou (aka Joško Ponoš, if you must) is a master negotiator. I’m telling you, he was definitely an Arab in a past life. They call him Coco in San Diego because he just tears everyone apart—absolute carnage. At the end of one legendary haggle, where the seller was practically sweating grease trying to keep up, the poor guy finally broke and told him:
- You aren't American, you're a mobster straight out of Sicily!
When Coco starts negotiating, it goes down exactly like this:
- How much for this leather jacket?
- 180 bucks! Special price just for my buddy from the States.
- Nah, nah! Here, take 25.
- 25!?? Are you insane? You'll put me out of business!
- Whatever, man. 25 or nothing.
- Fine, fine, 100! I'm ruined, you're ruining me, my boss is gonna kill me.
- 25!
- 25!??? Take it or leave it!
- Okay, fine, whatever.
- Wait, hold on, here's 30!
Get this: he dropped the price from 180 all the way down to 30, but Yoshkou still won't budge:
- I don't have 30. Only 25.
- Why don't you ask your friend to lend you 5 bucks? You know, Americans are the best at handball, the US is gonna win the World Handball Championship.
- Dane, just nod your head and tell him you don't have the 5 bucks.
Dane played it perfectly and acted like he was broke.
- Nope. Forget it.
- Wait, okay, I can do 25...
- Now I don't want it. You're playing games with me. I'm not even giving you 25!
And she just walked away...

feralbison62 said:Clearly we weren't on the same page, but whatever.😁
I was actually talking about watching Ballard, who’s out there playing way too much in his own head.

Obvious enough,😁

I meant you should be looking to the right at Dumbo, who's basically flying solo 99% of the time.🙂

feralbison62 said:They seriously need to just look to their left for one damn second.👍

Probably on the right.😁

Look, I was right there with you praising him against Spain, but I said it from the jump: there’s absolutely no way he keeps up that kind of pace for the rest of the games. Not a chance.🙂

frozentiger6 said:And another thing, Buntic—look, you gotta give him some grace, he’s young and still trying to find his rhythm with this crew, but those offensive blunders? He pulled the exact same stunt three times in a row.
With the Mexican left half right in his face, Buntic charges toward the 6-meter line. Sudzum leaves Džomba wide open, pulling Buntic toward him instead. In a perfect world, someone like Metlicic would have zipped that ball over to a lonely Džomba already cutting toward the goal, but no—Buntic just jumps at Sudzum three times straight.
Man, he’s actually losing it.

It was obvious Sudzum was baiting him, leaving Džomba out there knowing full well Buntic wouldn't pass; he'd just try to force it himself. And Buntic? He’s just clueless. Zero situational awareness. He thinks because he squeezed one through twice, the Mexicans are just gonna let him stroll through their defense forever.

He's decent one-on-one, but one-on-two? Forget about it. 😁But hey, whatever, his shot is absolute fire, which is at least one thing he’s got over Metlicic.

God... you can tell he’s just not in sync yet. He’s young, he’s green, so I’m not even wasting my energy getting worked up about it...

Whatever, he played how he played, but at least he put three goals on the board. 😉

We are missing Pero big time... it’s gotten to the point where even Balić, Špoljarić, and Goluža have to step up and cover that spot whenever Buntic is struggling. 🙂

frozentiger6 said:Look, when they start making their move, you just grab whoever's closest and shut them down. It’s simple—you do it however you know how to get the job done. Period. 😁 Don't just sit there waiting for it to hit rock bottom.

That's exactly why I've got Davor in my avatar.😁

-------------------

Look, when it comes to playing aggressive... yeah, sure, a little bit goes a long way. You need that grit, that real man-to-man defense to hold the line. But that meathead, butcher-style defending? No way. We don't need that garbage in our game.🙂

frozentiger6 said:Forget all that nonsense, 😉 he’s clearly head over heels for Lina. 😁

Anyone who actually watched us play against Germany and Norway could see our defense is completely broken. With Lino on the court, he keeps pulling players right into the crease—literally happened again last night and it drove me insane. Having an extra man means absolutely nothing if Lino refuses to risk a single yellow card on their playmaker, so we just end up conceding goals while sitting on a power play. In the first half last night, we had a man advantage for 10 minutes and somehow let in more goals than we actually scored.

Yeah, that part pissed me off too...

But there's something else that bugs me when we actually have a normal setup, you know, 6-on-6... whether we're running a 3-2-1 or a 5-1, they just stay glued to that 6m line. 🙄How the hell are you supposed to run a 3-2-1 right at the 6m line and try to pull those stupid volleyball-style blocks? You've gotta step out and pressure the shooter!👍
USA-Mexico and Mexico in Other Sports ·
robybaggio said:I’m just wondering where those two Capell fans went—the ones who were right here accusing Lina of being totally incompetent and saying he needs to step down (okay, fine, one of them explicitly said that, while the other just complained he knew nothing about goalkeepers)?

And one of those two guys even had the nerve to say before the game started that the refs were going to screw us over.

Look, people, we’re the favorites in every single match, and today was just a mess. We played poorly because, just like every other game in this World Cup, our shooting percentage was absolutely pathetic (to put it mildly, Džomba was abysmal out there today). We should have walked away with a five-point win. I actually told my old man back home while we were watching a three-point lead against America, "If we're tied with five minutes left, we're winning this 100%." Well, five minutes left, we were down by one, and boom—there it is. I wasn't even worked up because even if a Mexican had scored, there's an 80% chance we still would've advanced. Now the real fight starts. We've never had a good record against the French, but hey, maybe times are changing.

Come on, roby, stop talking trash... you know exactly what I said, so there's no need to keep repeating it.👋

Walter Walker42 said:I don't get why they put this on the front page of Monitor. They're out here claiming our fans were acting "bizarrely" during the game?!? What exactly was so bizarre about it?😕

Probably just the booing.😕

Kroll said:But man, that blind ref basically took his wife's glasses to the game. I mean, fine, he was tossing the wrong people out, but giving a red card to Djurdjica instead of Krivokapic? Total joke.😕

Yeah... and then he went ahead and locked up the wrong guy later too.😂
