It’s actually quite simple to make someone a villain and discredit everything they say—along with anyone else who happens to agree with them. Just take a clip of what was said, chop it up if you can't find something that wasn't even uttered, rearrange the sequence through editing, post it with a slight delay, and play the innocent victim. Now, in this specific case, we’re all having a good laugh at the inconsistencies and hypocrisy of those who have absolutely nothing against working on Sundays. Haha. It's just the typical hypocritical behavior from a crowd that can't even back up their own words with their actions, yet still feels entitled to lecture everyone else in their ignorance.

I’m not saying that’s exactly what’s happening here; maybe the woman in this report really is talking nonsense. Perhaps she’s just one of those people who is vehemently against Sunday work. But I know that whenever I see or read something in the media, I approach it with enough salt to brine a 450-pound tuna. I refuse to draw any conclusions about the people featured in this ABC News segment, but how does it look to you? 🤷

You caught it on film, so you'll know, right?

My bad then.

urbanhawk17 said:I was just watching a segment on ABC about the proposed ban on Sunday retail hours, and this girl says, "I'm totally against working on Sundays; there are plenty of other days to get your shopping done."

And she says all this while standing in line at Target, staring at a cart that’s practically begging to be filled up.🙏

Then again, maybe they filmed and edited that little segment on a different day, not today. 🤔

Paul Sanders5 said:I think we're missing each other here. Generally speaking, I'm not even against banning Sunday work. There are countries out there where that actually works. Personally, I don't hit the grocery stores on Sundays anyway; I might pop out for a loaf of bread, but that's about it. I go to the movies, but hey, someone has to staff those theaters. I grab gas, and there are employees there too. Our lifestyle in the States just doesn't allow for everything to shut down.

Honestly, I’d lose my mind if everything was shuttered on Sundays. I’m talking specifically about those tiny, rundown corner shops where people are basically working for pennies.
It’s not even that they strictly have to be closed; rather, out of some sense of solidarity toward those workers and their lives, we should at least be willing to hold off on whining in the aisles for that one motherf***ing (excuse my language) day of the week.

Paul Sanders5 said:I'm not a fan of bans. Especially since there are tons of us who work every single day; Sunday doesn't even mean anything to us. With these kinds of restrictions, it's always the retail workers who get singled out, while everyone else—like what Jessica Gonzalez mentioned—is grinding through those Sundays, nights, Fridays, and Saturdays, and basically getting screwed over. If they were retail workers, they'd actually have some protection. ☕

The Monday-to-Friday grind is just a leftover from failed eras past, just like working 6 to 2 or 7 to 3. Welcome to the 21st century.

Sure, but what kind of compensation are we talking about? The women working in those stores are making absolute peanuts. Generally speaking, every lowlife takes advantage of them because they can—from managers down to the rude customers. They’re "so protected," right? It’s almost funny. I guess that’s why turnover is so high at those "prestigious" jobs. God forbid I ever get treated with that much "protection."

I’m all for working when there isn't a pandemic, including Sundays and holidays. It doesn't bother me; nobody is forcing my hand. If I wanted less money, I’d work less, but then I certainly wouldn't be pulling shifts on Sundays and holidays.

Most retail workers are older women—mostly married with kids in tow.

The real point behind closing shops on Sunday isn't just about letting them attend some damn Mass that the leftists find so irritating; it’s about giving this vulnerable segment of the workforce a fighting chance to actually spend a day with their families.

Personally, I can live without Sunday shopping. I think most people can. I’m not sure how one day off per week would impact potential layoffs, but generally speaking, it’s not a job anyone should be losing sleep over.

I honestly feel for those women spending their Sundays grinding away at some soul-crushing job for a local church parish—stuck inside where they barely see a glimpse of the sun or the moon, when they really ought to be home with their families. It’s why I usually try to avoid hitting the stores on that day. Though, occasionally, if something is open, I'll pop in just because I have to.

Look, I realize plenty of people work Sundays; hell, I’ve probably worked more Sundays than I've had days off in my life. To me, it’s just another day—the sun rises in the east, sets in the west, and 24 hours pass by regardless. But if anyone actually *needs* to be home on the weekend, it's mothers with kids. I have zero desire to be the reason a liter of fabric softener, a pack of croissants, and some shaving cream stands between a mother and her child.☕

Why such a desperate scramble for life in any shape or form? Look, I respect it—I’m certainly not judging, nor am I against our younger generations suffering if they have to for the sake of those more vulnerable—but I just don't get it.
Personally, I never want to be too tired, too weak, withered, shriveled, hunched over, helpless, or impotent. I don't want to be someone sitting there with a glass of water and a denture by the bedside, dependent on medication and the goodwill of others just to function normally. It honestly makes my skin crawl.
Sixty-five is plenty, maybe even too much. After that, it's straight to the mountains for me 🤷.

Yeah, as long as you have gold to flex with, everything is fine, but once that runs out, you're straight into survival mode🤣. Food isn't really my priority—I usually just grab something on the go whenever I can—but I didn't even get a chance to check out Boca (looks like a ticket from a street vendor is about 20 euros), which was one of the main reasons I came, let alone venturing much outside of Buenos Aires where things actually feel like authentic Argentina.

So we'll probably need a redo in a year or so, maybe a bit more organized next time, but honestly, it’s cool just to head out when the stars align—when the right group, the right timing, and a little cash all hit at once.

Anthony Wright30 said:To be perfectly honest, it doesn't seem like anything particularly special that we don't already have back home, or perhaps that's just my own biased perspective.🤣

Their wines are excellent and quite affordable... whenever we were in Buenos Aires, we would indulge in meat almost every time, usually paying for two or three bottles of wine and ending up with a bill of roughly 50 dollars.🤣

In terms of the balance between quality, quantity, and price, I think the gauchos might actually be number one.
The women, however, were somewhat disappointing to me; they seemed rather difficult to connect with.

It’s a tough realization to find out that Keyra Agustin isn't exactly the embodiment of the typical Argentinian woman.😁

Though, personally, I think Argentinians are actually quite alright. They have spirit, and I love their accent—definitely one of the best in the world. It’s actually quite stimulating when I start trying to speak the language.🤣

Did you manage to get out of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, or Cordoba?

Anthony Wright30 said:How broke were you actually, if you found yourself without money for food while visiting Argentina?🤣
It strikes me as one of the most budget-friendly countries I have ever visited regarding food and drink.

Argentina was my final stop. I rolled in there totally drained; Chile absolutely wiped me out. During those last few days in Argentina, I was actually stealing bananas from the hostel and living on nothing but crackers—seriously, the only time in my life I've done that—just so I could scrape together enough change for a taxi back to the airport.🤣 🤣

I'm pretty gutted I didn't get to try that famous steak of theirs.

steelharbor9 said:I feel like my generation and I were almost completely bypassed when it comes to comics. It’s especially true for those "Classics" that previous generations seemed to be totally obsessed with back during the old days. I guess we just missed out, maybe?

Alright, so that whole thing above was just a joke. I mean, I know what Dylan Dog looks like, but honestly, it was only because of some outside pressure—you know, those trivia games—and not because I’ve actually read it. So, in the context of this comment, I don't really care. 😁

I gave a few of those things a shot—not Dylan Dog specifically, though that one definitely holds massive status globally—but honestly, after trying something like Alan Ford, my only takeaway is that its cult following mostly comes from the fact that it was one of the only options available back then. It’s kind of sad, really, whenever I see people trying to compare it to something like Watchmen. 🤷

Of course, I totally get why that take is causing such a massive stir over on Reddit, so honestly, it’s probably better if the trolls don't even bother starting. 🤣

Honestly, comics just aren't really my thing at all. I guess they're just totally unappealing as a way to pass the time. If I had to rank every form of art out there based on what I actually like, comics would definitely be sitting right at the very bottom of the list, man. 😢

I always assumed we’d been around here for years. I never missed out on the comic book scene; I spent plenty of time getting lost in the work of those Italian artists, and back when I was just a kid, I was totally hooked on that Mr. Nova collection my uncle used to collect. Dylan Dog is an absolute institution to me—as for Watchmen, I honestly don't even know what that is. 🤔

In my entire life, I haven’t stepped foot in a single fast food chain, except for a quick stop at Mustard in Argentina back when I was completely broke and it was the only affordable way to stave off hunger for a few days.
I consider avoiding places like McD's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, and similar establishments—which essentially prostitute the very idea of nourishment—to be an essential part of maintaining one's mental hygiene.☕.

Good grief. If I hadn't just faceplanted onto my floor, I wouldn't even know why I was scrolling through Index comments (someone dropped a link and I accidentally clicked a sidebar article), only to be confronted by the Icon herself at the most unexpected moment. 🤣🤣

By French beauty standards, a perfect breast would fit in a champagne flute, whereas by American standards, it could clog a toilet bowl😉.

Given your penchant for megalomania, it’s hardly surprising to see which metrics you live by.
