When you look at certain disciplines, it really comes down to a question of style. For instance, Shotokan karate is non-contact, whereas Kyokushin goes full-contact without any protective gear. Then you have Shito-ryu, which places a heavier emphasis on *ki*—similar to how you see things in Aikido... and so on. Even Tai Chi functions as a specific type of Kung Fu focused on calming the mind 😁, much like Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do or Wing-chun. Similarly, Aikido is broadly split into traditional and *ki*-based branches, with each having its own various styles and sub-styles 🙄 ....

Wing-Chun (or Win-Tschun, depending on how you spell it...) is just a specific style of Kung-Fu. And Kung-Fu is essentially the stuff you see from legends like Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan...

Usually, that first session is free—or at least, it ought to be.

In my view, any martial art is an experience best had firsthand; watching from the sidelines doesn't give you the full picture. I remember going to watch a traditional Aikido class once (I train Ki-Aikido myself)—instead of just sitting there as a spectator, I brought my own gi and joined the training instead.😁
