Here is a specific reason why I feel that way... look at the thread from Saturday where the first post included a link about holiday hours for branch locations. In that exact thread, on the very first page, post number 24 is someone asking how long the lottery branches stay open. What am I even supposed to say to that? 🤷

Well, if some people have their settings set to 20 posts per page, maybe they wouldn't even see it 🤷

Regardless, it's progress. Only one person asked, even though that doesn't really have much to do with my point because one normal question isn't a huge deal, so don't drag out this entire pointless debate and fight over nothing and don't mess up the clarity of the daily thread, even if it puts a bit more pressure on you moderators since you've mentioned this a hundred times already 😍

That's why I'd suggest just putting links and rules in the sticky threads, but that's probably going too far in the other direction.

Anyway, I think we should at least try this because we have nothing to lose, and also, we should emphasize the last part of this post:

Sure, those types will always exist, but at least we’d have fewer people trying to explain to them why they're wrong. Maybe they'll eventually get bored of posting nonsense since their only goal is to farm attention on this forum—they don't know how to do anything else besides hang out online all day. The rest of us would actually get useful info instead of having half the daily thread wasted on arguing with idiots.

To reiterate once more:

The rule exists because we were dealing with people constantly blowing massive amounts of money on parlays they hadn't even actually placed (or were just playing for pennies). It doesn't matter how much someone is betting; what's a huge sum to one person might be a moderate $5,000 to $17 someone else. 🤷

I don't see any issue with not posting stakes, or if you prefer, only posting them with proof of payment. 🤔

Please stop dragging questions about this (or any other rule) into the daily threads. Keep those discussions strictly within this topic.

I’d put the bolded part at the top of every daily thread (with some minor tweaks) and update the rules so that anyone starting a new daily thread has to include it in their first post (it takes two seconds to copy-paste). That might prevent all these stupid arguments and petty fights in the daily threads. 🤷
