As if it wasn't bad enough that they had to take someone else's blood in the first place—whether it was for surgery because of an illness or some freak accident.

Oh, for crying out loud! I don't get how many people donate blood in America without them being able to test it properly. It’s not like they aren't always whining about blood shortages anyway. 🙂

And this whole "over-testing is too expensive" argument is just plain stupid. Betty Bennett10 actually brought up one way they could verify everything without even needing that famous extra test.

Honestly, it’s kind of satisfying knowing that because of this mess, the permanent fixture at the Department of Health isn't going to be kicked out of his ministerial seat just yet. 🙂 🙂

If it were 1984 and nobody had a clue how to handle the HIV situation, sure, fine. But they’re getting too comfortable because there hasn't been a massive outbreak in the US, so they think they can just use this as another tool to harass young girls who are just trying to go to school. 👎

Look, I mean, if they waited this long for a Solution just to finally talk to me, shouldn't they be revoking his power of attorney and demanding he hand over the card instead? Why is that my job to fix?

I called them up this morning and demanded a printout of the transaction history for that account from the last year... I need to see if money was being pulled while they were dragging their feet waiting for a Solution, or if it’s been a steady drain the whole time.

I don't even know... all I know is I couldn't handle one more of those "family" lectures. 🙂

How can you even suggest something like that, like you're just carrying your father around in your pocket? If you could actually sit down and talk to him, you wouldn't be dealing with the bank in the first place! Ugh! They have absolutely zero right to meddle in family business, and I won't let them. Can you switch representatives, if not the whole branch? Probably not. 😢

I'm glad your 'old man' is doing okay. I think about him often; I had some pretty ugly stuff go down last month. Only now do I realize how much it matters to actually have family support. Unfortunately, my family had that "perfect family" syndrome where mental health issues just don't exist. There wasn't some happy ending like there was with your guy. It's sad, really. Truly sad. Which makes me pull even more for you. 👋 for you

Kenneth Hernandez67, I just want to be certain there’s actually someone out there in this world who is as brave, honest, and genuinely loving as you. What you did for your old man was so incredibly powerful and right that it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that, in the real world, you’re facing the most resistance from the very people who should be standing right by your side (not counting Junior, obviously—he’s clearly on your team). Actually, maybe it isn't that hard to believe, considering you're forcing your own parents to finally face the fact that they were weak, pathetic, and completely heartless.

You gave your dad his dignity back. I know it’s brutal watching him go through this crisis, but you were strong enough to look it dead in the eye instead of turning away and letting him suffer alone.
It’s obvious he’s been through thirty years of pure hell; whatever he’s dealing with now is just a drop in the bucket compared to that.
For the first time in his life, he actually has someone willing to move heaven and earth to make things better for him, all while holding his hand through it.

Thanks for putting all of this out there and opening up the Pandora’s box of your own little world.
I really wish I could meet you in person; I think it would be a lot easier to believe that people are actually good at heart if I knew you.

Nothing major, though. I skipped it, kept taking my pills as usual, and then everything went back to normal the next cycle.

I wasn't pregnant or anything—just stressed out.

I don't want to be mean, but the woman clearly stated she CAN'T get to a doctor right now, so calling her an idiot might be a bit much. That said, it’s pretty obvious they teach nursing students how to talk to patients differently... 🙄
Those antibiotics you're talking about are broad-spectrum ones that the other ladies here already mentioned, like Nystatin. And yeah, you absolutely need a doctor's prescription for those. For something like Canesten or Plymicol, you really don't. Honestly, the doctor I saw gave me a standing prescription for Plymicol vaginal suppositories and told me to use them whenever it gets itchy... apparently, stress also triggers yeast growth. So, go to the pharmacy for some first aid to stop the itching, then see a doctor as soon as you can...

Aaron Ortiz97 👋, hang in there. Yeast infections are a nightmare, but they are treatable... start by eating massive amounts of probiotics, acidophilus, or anything with "acidophilus" on the label. It sounds too simple to work, but it actually does... and using a medical-grade intimate wash (Derma Femme is the gold standard!) is fine, but nothing inside!
