Not wanting kids: Is it just me? in Psychology ·
Gerald Scott4 said:👍People tell me all the time that they're actually afraid of me...🤣🙂
and honestly, I take that as a huge compliment.🥳
Though, it is pretty hilarious to me that women who are barely 5'4" and 105 lbs are supposedly "scared" of me.😁

so what, now you're gonna complain about getting hit on constantly? 🤣 I don't buy the whole "intimidating" act for a second. 😁 It’s probably just because you don't walk around acting like a total gold digger in real life. 🤣

man, 😍senks! can't wait to hear your congratulations too.

I’m actually pretty jealous 😢

Nobody ever bothers asking me when I’m going to have kids 🤷
ever

Why do people even talk about this stuff? When someone tries to grill me, I just give them this blank, dead-eyed stare and say nothing. And I mean nothing...
I told my neighbors straight up that I wasn't interested in the gossip—about them or me—and that those small-town clichés aren't my vibe. Since then, nobody has dared ask me again 🤷

And yet, here I am, counting down the days until I have a kid 😍
I’m really hoping 2009 turns out to be my year. It's wild to think back to when I was twenty; the mere thought of some little alien growing inside me and being sliced out with poultry shears used to make me gag 😢

So, honestly, I have no clue how this sudden urge for motherhood even kicked in. But it did, and I’m genuinely happy about it 🙂
Melissa Torres4 said:She’d love to go, but her bank account is looking pretty tragic right now. Any saints out there willing to hook her up with a free ticket? 🙂

🤣 Seriously, again?
Don't fall for it. I tried to give her a bracelet last year and she wouldn't even touch it. 🙂

Ugh, gotta go dry off this new haircut before hitting the beach. 🙂
Kyle Jackson54 said:Well, what now? I guess I'll just find some actual cash from my paycheck. All I need to do is hunt down a victim willing to hook me up with a VIP discount, and then I'm golden.

hoooot chiiiiiip 😍 🙂
:2up: for the organizer who couldn't bother to post on time. Total joke.

But why am I even getting worked up? It's not like I was planning on going anyway. 🥳 Hey Kyle Jackson54, if you still need that discount through the usual channels, just shoot me a DM.

Surprise, surprise... what else is he gonna say? He's not exactly looking to drive his own business into the ground by handing you a solution that works without him. It's all about keeping that steady stream of revenue coming in.

😉Do yourself a favor and look up Ortho-K online.

Douglas Lopez4 said:Yeah, he’s the real deal. When I first called up to ask about my eyes, they told me I was looking at a -6.00 prescription. Honestly? I was ready to just accept my fate and move on. But I decided to swing by for a consultation anyway, and the doctor told me it’s totally doable. Mind you, he still charged me $0.00 for a thirty-minute consult!

True, he isn't out to squeeze every last cent out of you, which is rare enough these days...
If he gave you the green light, go for it.
I know if it were me, I'd 🙂

I'm telling you... I don't even realize how bad my nearsightedness is 🙂
unless I end up stumbling around in the dark at night, and then I don't bother putting my contacts in until the next day.😁

Douglas Lopez4 said:Bradley Smith—so tell me, how long have you actually been wearing them?
Has your prescription dropped at all? How many times have you had to swap out lenses since you started?
I'm sitting at -6.5 and -8 (and it's getting worse), and my doctor said we could give it a shot, but they aren't making any promises.
The whole thing is pretty expensive $1000, at least that's what I was told.

Look, I’ve been reading up on this for a little over two years now.🙂
I switched pairs a couple of times during that first year because one set kept sticking too hard to my eye—it would make everything look totally distorted. Up until last month, I was actually testing a new pair against my old ones, and I finally realized the "new" batch is way better. Usually, if you need to switch lenses, insurance covers it because the doctor has to find the perfect fit, but if you lose one, you're on your own.

Honestly, I don't know if my vision has improved, but the main perk for me is just being able to see clearly, period. You see fine with the lenses, and you see fine without them. 🙏 Whether it's skiing, diving, camping, or riding a motorcycle... 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 I've done all of that over the last two years without even thinking about contacts.

And now it's 3 $0.00? Look, I dropped $5,000 on this, and honestly, it was worth every single cent. I haven't even considered surgery anymore. Then again, my prescription isn't huge—just 3.25 in one eye and 2.75 in the other. At the end of the day, the call is entirely yours 🤷. Either way, good luck 🙂 and let me know how it goes.

Just thought I’d drop in 😁

Contact lenses are honestly a game changer. I’ve been scrolling through some of these old threads just to reminisce about when I first made the switch 😬

I haven't seen an eye doctor in ages—probably should feel a little guilty about that—but my eyes and these lenses are doing just fine. Or, at least, things are good enough that I completely forget I even have nearsightedness 😍

I'd definitely recommend giving them a shot, though I know it’s not a one-size-fits-all situation. I actually have a friend out in Chicago who tried them and ended up having to go right back to glasses or standard contacts

It's all subjective, I guess. If you have any specific questions, hit me up. For me, they work flawlessly 🙏
🤣

just the highlights here: "The bottom line is whether those international acts—you know, the ones from the US and UK—even belonged on the second night. Especially since half of them weren't even half as good as the heavy hitters we've been seeing locally lately.

Aside from The Hold Steady, it turns out neither Iggy Pop nor Iggy Pop can hold a candle to Mother or Štuka." 🙂🙏 🙏
they're gonna play at my wedding 😍

I couldn't care less about any more bracelet talk, I love them all! 👋
man! and a huge 🙏 shoutout to that decent Italian/Canadian/foreigner who let me into the front row with his girlfriend, and a massive 🙂 thanks to that giant, massive circus lady who set up shop right next to

Alright, fine. You want me to break down that hideous Radarfest wristband for you? Here we go. 😈

Just kidding. 😘

🤣 Not even close. Not even a chance.
I wasn't even on their radar, so I have zero clue what those bracelets actually look like.
I still rock them because they were my first real taste of those massive festivals—we’re talking crowds of over 100,000 people—and honestly? I loved every second of it. Yeah, most of my friends give me crap and laugh their heads off because I’m still wearing them, but whatever. Screw it. Everyone’s got their own brand of crazy. 😬
Those bracelets? Forget about it. They have zero stretch, and good luck trying to loosen them up even a little bit. Once you finally manage to get one off, that’s it—it's game over. You aren't getting back in.

That’s it. I’m done talking about bracelets. Seriously, enough is enough. 😳
coastalpanther11 said:I kind of assumed those wristbands were one-size-fits-all. Am I tripping?
anyway, what’s actually the best way to ID people at multi-day events? Wristbands seem fine to me. It’s simple, and easy on the organizers. You just look down, see their wrist isn't covered in plastic, and tell them to beat it. Fair enough. If I were running the show—God forbid—I wouldn't waste a dime on wristbands. I'd just hit everyone with a paintball gun at the entrance right after they handed over the cash.

🙂
- Please, come on in!
- Does this smudge cover all the days? Can I wash it off?
- Sure you can, I'll see you tomorrow...

But then again, it's only me...

Look, coastalpanther11, there are wristbands out there that aren't just cheap, tight plastic. They don't feel like trash to wear and they don't scream "look at me, I'm visible from a satellite."
Actually, I can show you today because I'm still wearing mine; it's a souvenir from the festival, even though months have passed. I took off my Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival band, but I'm putting it back on today. I'll toss it after the fest is over.

Wristbands work for festivals—that's a proven fact—but they don't have to be these crappy ones! Especially when we're talking about weekday gigs.
The fact that our American event organizers are cheapskates is a whole different story. 😉
honestly, the whole thing was a total bust

The organization was a complete train wreck, and the staff? Pure entitlement. They act like they own the place—seriously, go work a service job in a small town somewhere and see how you handle festival-goers then.

As for the crowd, they were totally checked out, and don't even get me started on the lineup. Just a bunch of washed-up old guys headlining. What a joke.

Catch you guys tonight 😬

!!! there's gonna be 🙏 🙏 🙏 and I'm actually looking forward to that part

😠

Dr. Harni just dropped right off my list of people I actually trust with my cash and my health.
Back when I first signed up in August, I had to wait two whole weeks just to get seen, and then—of course—I sat there for another 20 minutes after my appointment time. Fast forward to December, I try to book again, and they tell me I’ve got a 25 (!) day wait. Yeah, even after I explained I was dealing with some serious stuff—which I still am, by the way. When I finally made it in, the nurse left me hanging. After waiting 20 minutes, she looks at me—only because I practically begged her—and says I need to sit there for at least another half hour. When I asked why nobody bothered to call me since I have to get back to work, she gave me this condescending lecture about how "this is the doctor's office" and "you just have to wait for the doctor." Honestly, screw them. I packed up my things and sent them straight to hell. Compared to this disaster, my local clinic at the VA is 👎 👎 👎 👎—and on top of all that, they expect me to hand over my money? No way! Not happening!

Hard contact lenses actually help stall prescription creep, which is why they’re usually the go-to recommendation. Sure, soft lenses feel way more comfortable, but there's a catch—your vision can slip faster if you rely solely on them compared to using hard ones.
I remember my eye doctor wouldn't even touch the idea of soft lenses for me until I was 18 or 19. The logic was that since the eye is still developing at that age, soft lenses could actually accelerate the shift in your prescription. It worked exactly like that for me too; I wore soft contacts from age 18 until I was about 25, and eventually, my prescription just started spiraling out of control. Once I switched back to hard lenses—specifically those overnight ones—my prescription finally leveled off and stayed put.

Alright, another update for you guys.

So, I’ve been sitting here for a month waiting on my second set of contact lenses 😠 even though they were supposed to be here within ten days. I can't even wear the first pair because they totally distort my vision, and the second set? Still nothing. I honestly miss that feeling you get with actual lenses—that sense of seeing things for what they really are. Glasses just don't cut it for me 😢 and I haven't even switched back to my old soft contacts yet. Now I'm stuck with this nagging, gross thought that I'm basically walking around with something foreign shoved in my eyes all day 😬
I already blew off a few precious weekends hitting the slopes because glasses are useless for skiing, and my doctor flat-out told me not to wear my soft contacts 🙄

My bottom line: the method itself is great, but the doctor? Absolute garbage. He’s shady and completely untrustworthy. He says one thing and does another. I’m heading back to his office today just so I can give him a piece of my mind. If anyone happens to know a decent specialist—maybe someone out in the suburbs or even a highly-rated pro in a nearby major city—please let me know.

Once these lenses finally show up, I'll check back in. 🙂
