Hey there,
Can we switch this over to Megan Gonzalez4?

Thanks!

Sure thing, just reach out to Nick.
Chris Miller, thanks for getting back to me.
I'll explain if anyone asks.
Does anyone know if I can request a refill if I still have about 10 days' worth of pills left?
I'm heading out to a rural area where there won't be any pharmacies nearby, and I'd really rather not make a massive trek right in the middle of summer.
This is for a therapy I've been on for months now.
Potassium Chloride in Health ·
My doctor put me on some potassium citrate powder packets.
It’s been working wonders for me—I can feel the difference almost immediately, and thankfully, it doesn't mess with my stomach at all.
What’s the family doctor saying?
If it were me, I’d get some bloodwork done, just to see if there's any sign of inflammation.
Depending on what those results show, the doctor should probably refer you to a specialist.
Every time I walk into my doctor's office with a nagging issue, it always starts out exactly like this.
Nicholas Wells74 said:What does that abbreviation actually mean? I haven't seen any content to rewrite yet. Please provide the posts you'd like me to transform! Should it go before the diagnosis?

I’d say it basically means they're suspicious of the diagnosis, but nothing is set in stone just yet. It's still up in the air.

St post So, I was looking over my specialist report today, and I noticed something pretty weird. The diagnosis they wrote down doesn't even match the doctor's actual field of expertise. It feels like a total mismatch—kind of like asking a mechanic to fix your plumbing and then having them tell you your sink is leaking. Just feels off.

But then again, I'm not entirely sure if my take on this is even right.

That’s exactly how it felt for me after the diagnosis was confirmed, but things shifted once I went through that minor surgical procedure.
So, if that was the diagnosis written down post-op—I'm assuming it just means "status after" the procedure.
When they’re still second-guessing a diagnosis, that’s usually when you see people posting "in obs" on the forums.

From what I can tell, you're saying you actually enjoy the work and would love to do it professionally.
I'm not sure if switching majors would even help; honestly, you might just end up feeling just as out of place in a different field and hit that same wall of panic.
Social anxiety is treatable—you just need to be completely upfront with a psychiatrist about what you're going through.
There are medications and therapy specifically designed for this.
Running away from a specific major or a career path isn't really the fix here.

I deal with people all day long for work, and honestly? With what you're going through, any job involving constant social interaction is going to feel like an uphill battle. If it were me, I’d probably feel like I was "on display" behind a counter, and that level of exposure would make me incredibly uncomfortable.
I've never been the type who enjoys making small talk with strangers.
I noticed you mentioned you're already on antidepressants.
Are you just starting them, or are they not really doing the trick?
Maybe try heading back to your psychiatrist; it might be worth asking for a tweak in your treatment plan.
Dealing with these issues is going to get a lot more complicated once you're actually in the grind of a full-time job, so it would be great if you could find some relief now.

My whole left side is acting up—my ankle hurts, my entire left leg cramps whenever I sit cross-legged, and if I stay seated too long, I’m limping for a few seconds every time I stand back up. Even the left side of my neck is killing me. This has been dragging on for months now.
Basically, does anyone know who I should actually see for this? 🕺

Honestly, I wouldn't go to a chiropractor for that. You really need to see a physiatrist.

Does anyone know what the deal is with scheduled follow-ups?
Rebecca King said:Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if we need to get brand new referrals for appointments that got pushed back because the old ones expired? I thought the red ones were only good for three months? It feels a bit ridiculous that everyone would have to scramble for new paperwork just because the schedule shifted through no fault of our own.

They actually last six months, provided the order was placed within the window.
I just went in with some referrals that were four months old and they worked perfectly fine. Even my red lab referral went through without a hitch, despite being older than three months.
Rebecca King said:They told me one of my tests was being canceled. When I asked if I needed to reschedule, they just said they’d get back to me—still haven't heard a peep. As for the other test, nobody said anything at all. I ended up calling them two days before my appointment, only to find out everything is being pushed back until this whole epidemic blows over.

I honestly don't know.
My appointment was set for early April, and I'm still sitting here waiting for a call.
If I actually have to go through the whole scheduling process again, I'll be waiting months, which basically means I lost my original spot entirely.
I really hope they're keeping track of people whose appointments were bumped so we don't just fall through the cracks.
Rebecca King said:Does anyone know how to reschedule canceled appointments through the normal channels using the same referral?
Anyway, I tried doing exactly that, but it's been over a week and I haven't heard back from a single email despite sending three different booking requests. How are you guys re-booking?

What actually needs to be re-ordered?
I honestly thought the hospital would just give me a call.
I’m guessing this has probably been asked a hundred times already, but I can’t seem to find anything
Does an A3 red referral for lab work actually hold any value?
I read somewhere that A referrals are good for 90 days, but I’m not totally sure if that same rule applies to labs too.

I don't have any firsthand experience here, but I've heard great things about Dr. Chudy over in Brooklyn. There was actually a recent article about him.
Can't sleep tonight in Health ·
Something definitely went down tonight. Even my kid woke up at 4 AM and could barely drift back to sleep. And we aren't talking about a baby here, so you know it wasn't just some typical restless phase.

Thanks. Any chance you could recommend a good neurologist? Like, which hospital should I look into?
Finding Balance in Health ·
I don't want to hijack the thread, but I’ve been dealing with some weird stuff lately. Every so often, I get hit with this dizziness—almost like my balance is just totally off when I'm walking. My eyes ache, my leg twitches out of nowhere, and sometimes my knee just... buckles while I'm mid-stride. I'm 41.
Is this something a neurologist should look at? Or could it be coming from my neck?
Rebecca King said:Hey there,

I’m looking to get quite a few moles removed for cosmetic reasons. Since I can't get a referral through insurance for the actual removal, I'm planning on seeing someone privately. Does anyone know if it's possible to just get a referral specifically for the pathology testing? It feels way too risky to skip it, and they always recommend checking every single mole...

Yeah, you can. That's actually how I handle it. I go to a private clinic for the initial exam, and if they decide a mole needs to come off, I just request a referral for the pathology work.
My doctor doesn't give me any trouble about it at all.
