Walter Davis said:It's super weird to me that you only see a problem with Rachel Richardson. Did the quality of the US really get that much better while he was gone?
What about everything else? Like, the other day those incel types went wild, and you were chatting comfortably with almost every single one of those blackpill guys—probably being nice, I guess, but I think you just helped them spread.
Of course I don't see the problem only with Rachel Richardson. But in my opinion, the first step should definitely be getting rid of that spammer. There's zero constructive value there; when he isn't spamming, he just flips his entire stance depending on whose ass he's trying to kiss. But what I hate most out of everything Joshua Perez6 mentioned is the way people insult others through a third party. When I see that level of lowliness and cowardice, it genuinely makes me sick—and I don't mean figuratively or just using an emoji, I feel physically nauseous.
As for the blackpillers, yeah, I've talked to them, and I was pleasant and well-meaning about it. I talk that way with Sisyphus and TNT too, who both bring their own specific brands of trouble to the subforum.
But when the blackpillers start using Nazi terminology, or when TNT starts writing about how people with disabilities shouldn't have even been born, or when Sisyphus calls women who have legal abortions "witches," "exterminators," and "murderers"—that’s when I react.
Did you miss my reactions? Because I reacted every single time.
I don't think moderation needs to be "stricter" in some abstract sense; honestly, I'm just glad the position exists at all.
I don't think any of the people mentioned should be kicked out entirely, but I do think there should be clear bans: a ban for Sylar for physical insults, for the dead guy and Junius for misogyny, for TNT for off-topic posting, and for Sisyphus for those horrific comments. No need to delete posts, just issue the bans so it's crystal clear what these people are writing and why it violates the principles of any civilized community.
That way, I believe people will think twice—maybe even three times—before they hit send.
Plus, it would attract new people to the subforum—people looking for actual discussion and communication, knowing they're in a place where if someone breaks the rules, there's actually someone to report it to or warn.
Instead, we have a moderator who loudly declares she isn't moderating, and another moderator who acts stupid just to protect a holy little clique and nothing else.
Because when I complained to her about that religious thread, it was just "whine, whine, okay, close the thread." You don't need to close a single thread, Ashley Vaughn79, but you DO need to moderate. Either do the job or get out of the way.
