Me: Nooo, really, you don't have to. Seriously, it's fine.
Her: Don't even start. You go ahead of me. Just shut it. Did you hear me? I used to carry babies, too.
Me: Oh my goddddd. Okay, thank youuuu so much 😍 😍
I swear I almost melted right there on the floor 😍 from how sweet it was.
Totally, and those guys were actually pretty young, too—usually I’d expect them to just... well, ignore me instead of being nice.😁
I got totally blindsided today by this group of super young guys—probably construction workers grabbing a quick lunch break—over at 🙂 There were at least 15 of them ahead of me in line, and honestly, every single one of them had a cart packed to the brim, yet every last one of them stepped aside to let me go first 🙂 I’m not even joking, it actually moved me to tears; I was a hair away from a complete emotional breakdown right there in the aisle 😁 All I could manage to squeeze out was a breathless, "Oh my god, thank youuuuu!" 😁
Laura Barnes42 said:Look, I’m always the first one to admit that being pregnant doesn't make me an invalid or anything, but does it really matter that they don't seem to care at all? We’re sitting here, visibly exhausted and sweating through this heat while we wait endlessly... what you guys are saying is true—you really should just speak up and ask for help.
I was actually at the clinic for a routine urine culture, and there was this guy ahead of me in line who, the second he saw me approaching the door, practically sat down on the handle just to make sure I didn't accidentally barge in ahead of him. ☕
By the end of it, the doctor seemed like he wanted to just ignore me entirely, but I made sure to be heard—I was breathing heavily, muttering under my breath, and rolling my eyes pretty noticeably, so eventually, he had to see me (right after dealing with the guy who was hovering by the door). 🤣
So, a few days ago I swung by the clinic with a referral, and obviously had to bring my daughter along since I couldn't exactly leave her home alone. There were about ten people ahead of me in line, and I tried being perfectly polite, asking if someone could just let me slip in for a second to grab my paperwork since it was already ready. Do you think a single soul said "yes"? Nope. Not one person.

First pregnancy, I saw a woman at the pharmacy. Now, about a week ago, I saw a guy with his pregnant partner—though she wasn't nearly as far along as I am. That’s really it. It's not that I'm looking for attention; my pregnancy is going fine. The only issue is that standing is getting difficult now that I've put on fifteen pounds. But like you all said... honestly, couldn't they at least have the basic decency to ask?
Ugh, I totally get why this happens. I think we pregnant women just have these wildly unrealistic expectations of how the world should work, so really, they're right and we're the ones being unreasonable. 🙄
I’ve honestly heard people say the exact same thing during my first pregnancy and again this time around—you know, those comments like, "She’s just pregnant, she’s not sick, what's the big deal if she waits a little longer?" Pffff, as if I actually care whether anything happens to me! Is it too much to ask for some basic common sense? What even is that?
Honestly, what kills me most is how it’s way more likely you’ll get released by some elderly folks who can barely stay upright themselves rather than anyone actually young.

I feel like I've been venting on this thread for months now, almost hoping that maybe, just maybe, I'll eventually see a day where someone actually stands up for me on a bus or lets me skip ahead in line. 😢
So far, during my first pregnancy: absolutely nothing. Not once, not anywhere. 😲
But then, during this one—just this one single time—some middle-aged woman on a bus near the river looked at me while I was with my little one and said she knew exactly how it felt because she had four kids of her own. 🙂
It's kind of sad, really.
Well, the one time I actually got a break during this pregnancy, it was a Cashier at Walmart. 🙂 There were still 5 or 6 people ahead of me, but as soon as she spotted me, she practically jumped up from her station and yelled, "Move it, everyone move! Let this lady go first—can't you see she's pregnant and has a kid with her? Have some decency!" 🙂
urbantinker8 said:That’s really the crux of it, isn't it?
If only someone would actually acknowledge you for a second!
But instead, I’m just standing there at the Walmart Cashier with maybe two items in my hand—because, honestly, I can barely carry anything else right now—and everyone is just acting like I'm invisible.
I can't help but wonder if people have become so wrapped up in their own little worlds that they genuinely don't notice anyone else, or if they're just incredibly rude and don't care about that whole "priority for pregnant women with small kids" thing at all.🤮
They just don't care. I feel you—I'm currently heavily pregnant with a four-year-old who definitely doesn't have the patience to stand still in line, all while trying to manage a huge grocery haul. And yet, not a single soul pays attention. 🙂
Honestly, I wouldn’t even care if they told me "no," but I just wish they'd have the decency to actually ask—you know, show just a tiny shred of basic human empathy and common sense. But nope. Not happening. This has already gone down twice during my pregnancies, once with my last one and now again with this one.
Dana Brown8 said:So I was at the OBGYN today, and of course, the husbands are just lounging around with their wives while a crowd of pregnant women is left standing there... completely ignored.
After finishing my fetal monitoring and exam—which left me feeling absolutely wiped out—I headed over to Walmart, only to find myself in a literal race against a group of seniors to see who could reach the checkout first. 🙂
It’s been one of those days where everything is grating on my nerves; I'm feeling pretty frustrated and physically miserable, so please bear with me.
Ugh, don't even get me started on the checkout lines. The lack of basic manners is just unreal. 🙄

It seems I haven't exactly encountered those kinds of comments myself... where on earth do you all find people like that?😂
I don't run into them. They run into me. 😢
It drives me absolutely insane when people I barely even know—like, we’ve passed each other in the hallway maybe five times in our entire lives and I don't even know their names—think they can just shamelessly "pet" my stomach.
Like, heck no, thanks, especially if you didn't even bother asking first.
P.S. Sorry for the rant, but I literally just walked out of Target and these kinds of situations just sent my blood pressure straight to the moon!!!!!
Dana Brown8 said:Watching how much he adores our daughter—how they click and how she’s already his little princess (even though she isn't even two yet)—is actually pretty sweet. He's clearly counting down the days until our son arrives, too. He’s constantly checking in on me, asking if I need anything, giving me massages. I'm only ten days out from delivery.
What really gets under my skin, though, is the constant poking and people asking if I'm "still in one piece." People just don't get how incredibly irritating that is. They're also being dense; they don't realize that if things actually start moving, my family is going to be the ones handling the logistics for everyone else. :P
Ugh, tell me about it! I can't even go anywhere without at least five random people—people I barely even know besides a quick nod in passing—asking me, "So, how much longer?" or "Wow, you're still looking great, when is the big day???"
Like, who gives a shit? Seriously. 😠
Do they have any sense of boundaries at all?! 🤷
Laura Barnes42 said:That’s true, though people still ask me if my dad is happy with his girlfriend. He isn't. As soon as he heard she had moved away, he just handed over the divorce papers.🤣
😁 😁 Oh, totally, mine too... and they've got two little ones on top of it all!! That’s just a recipe for disaster. 😁
Honestly, I couldn't care less about all this drama, and I really don't get why everyone is freaking out over these spikes. It’s just nonsense. The only thing that actually matters to me in this world is having a healthy, happy kid.
Honestly, the comments are what drive me absolutely insane... I’ve got a four-and-a-half-year-old girl, and ever since I found out I was pregnant, I've lost count of how many times I've heard stuff like, "Oh, maybe you'll finally get lucky and have a boy this time!" or "It's definitely going to be a son, so Dad will finally be happy." And then, when I actually say—completely sincerely and excitedly, because why wouldn't I?—that I'm hoping for another little girl, people just hit me with those patronizing vibes like, "Oh well, I guess that's fine too," or even worse, "Well, looks like you'll have to try for a third one to get what you want."
\\>\\>What is actually wrong with people?? Like, is there something going on in their heads that I'm just totally missing?! 🤷

The current one sounds way too suggestive, and trust me, I really, really don't want that vibe going on. 🤷
Well, it’s kind of similar anyway—it’s not all caps, just Popikulj.
Just reach out to Nica.
Thanks 😍😍
