Girls at the gym in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Was that aimed at me? Don't worry, I'm not taking it personally... It’s just, I saw this trainer over at the local Gold's Gym and I had to do a double-take. Given how much time she spends working there, I was honestly pretty surprised by how toned and fit she looks.
Like you said, she doesn't have massive bulging muscles, but everything is just tight and well-defined. That's my point...
But that trainer? Man, he's a whole different story altogether...
Downswing" Syndrome? in Psychology ·
Whenever I’m struggling through some grueling physical labor, I just remind myself that someone out there has it way worse than I do—especially if those people are my own friends.
Honestly, I actually saved that post from goxicov onto my computer; I even worked something similar into an essay I was writing recently. It’s honestly brilliant.
But seriously, people really ought to take a walk through the halls of a public hospital once in a while, or just get a real look at how some folks are actually living...

But look, if you take, say, the same amount of marijuana and tobacco and smoke them both (obviously), then marijuana is actually less dangerous. It’s only when you start using massive quantities of weed that it becomes more hazardous than tobacco.
Downswing" Syndrome? in Psychology ·
I think this whole "downfall" thing is really just about being knocked off that pedestal people live on—you know, that bubble where everyone assumes everything is perfect and sunshine-filled, until life finally hits them with a reality check or a bad break...

I’ve gotta say, there’s something incredibly attractive about women who hit the gym—provided they actually know what they’re doing. I’m not talking about being overly bulky or anything, just having that toned, fit look and a solid, firm build. It’s honestly a total knockout.
So, basically: girls $\rightarrow$ the gym. And if you aren't feeling it? Well, that's your loss, but don't expect much.

You can throw just about anything into a mix... the recipes are easy enough...
There's even pizza.
But if we're talking food and drinks, I’d kill for some marijuana - ban drug flavored bourbon.
Now *that* would be the real deal.
Look, the reason I’m asking is because a buddy of mine mentioned his neighbor used to drink like a fish, and now he's dealing with some serious blood sugar issues—he claims he was diagnosed with diabetes, though I didn't buy it at first.
I'm telling you, there's actual truth to the idea that heavy drinking can wreck your glucose levels, and since he's insisting he actually has the disease, I've got plenty of reasons to take this seriously.

Apparently, those bullfighters in Spain have sex before a fight to sharpen their vision (or so they said in one of those James Bond movies), and if you consider masturbation a substitute for that, I don't know if it's harmful or not, but honestly, that is just a stupid, useless response to an equally useless comment. We're supposed to be talking about diabetes and alcoholism here, not whatever that was... 👍 🤣

Look, anything that isn't actual marijuana—like, you know, an actual joint—whether it's edibles or whatever else, is going to have WAY weaker effects. Plus, there isn't just one type of weed out there; they don't all hit the same because they don't all have the same amount of The Coca-Cola Company. Both the THC levels and how hard it hits depend entirely on how it was grown.

I’m telling you guys again, just go read the page. There’s a ton of data there, and honestly, it’s worth your time. As far as recipes go, they're all listed on the site—and sure, you can always stick to tea or eating some space cake. There are heaps of different ways to make it, so just go read.
Look, I’ve heard that heavy drinking over a long period—we’re talking constant, daily stuff—can actually trigger diabetes. That was one of the potential side effects I was trying to get at when I kicked off this whole thread...

This page claims that marijuana is LESS harmful than cigarettes or alcohol, and that it DOES NOT lead to harder drugs. Seriously, people, try reading something for once...
It'll happen, it'll happen
I wasn't talking about some drug trip or those hallucinogenic mushrooms, but more like this totally blurred vision—where things get fuzzy, sometimes you see double, and you start hallucinating a little bit. That’s what I meant...
It’s pretty obvious there’s a connection to the drugs mentioned, so you can't just pretend there won't be consequences.

Check out this site and actually educate yourself for once. It’s packed with stuff most people have no clue about, and the people behind it are genuinely dedicated to spreading the truth about marijuana...
Look, I don't smoke myself, but I've got nothing against people who light up every now and then just to unwind or whatever.

Look, I hear you, I really do. I know how it all works, but let’s be real—it’s a hell of a lot harder to stick to those principles once you’ve had a few beers...

I didn't quite catch what you meant by that above. 😢

It honestly feels like they have.

Maybe I phrased that a bit weirdly—I tend to overcomplicate things even on a good day—but hey, we're getting philosophical here, right?
Anyway, here's the bottom line: people say being smart means knowing how to enjoy life, and sure, there's some truth to that. But if you're actually smart, you'll figure out how to enjoy yourself without leaving a trail of wreckage behind. For example, everyone "enjoys" themselves while they're out drinking and partying, but that's not true enjoyment if you spend the entire next day puking your guts out. Or if you do something incredibly stupid just for a quick thrill, only to deal with the fallout later. That's not living; that's just short-term gratification with long-term consequences, you know?
You've got to learn how to actually enjoy life...👍
You're right about that, honestly. I just totally forgot to drink any water. I'm guessing you know why... usually, if my brain is actually functioning, I make sure to stay hydrated and everything stays fine. It’s not like I’ve ever gone so long without water that I ended up in actual medical trouble.
And this goes for anyone who drinks, really. I mean, alcohol definitely starts doing damage once those hallucinogenic effects kick in, roughly speaking...

Anyway, I'm sipping on a Coke now...
Sure, maybe they're losing their edge, but in our healthcare system, this is still a massive, burning issue. 🤣

But I'm talking about the guy who actually gets something out of it—someone who can truly enjoy the moment and walk away feeling satisfied, rather than just having a blast and then feeling like total garbage afterward...
Kimberly Davis52 said:So, you're telling me some guy who gets tipsy once in a blue moon should see a psychiatrist because he's mentally ill? That he's an addict? When he barely drinks at all?

Give me a break.

I’m with you on that, though I'd skip calling him an idiot—because if I'm an idiot, then we're ALL idiots. Honestly, every single guy in my graduating class was like that, and most of the guys I know, plus even some of the girls.
It was just one of those mistakes that happens, and it's happened to plenty of people, but we're going to make sure it doesn't happen again from here on out.
