I listen to a lot of country music, but I rarely touch Ceca or Lepa Brena. They might have two or three songs that aren't half bad, but I usually stick to their newer stuff—the tracks that don't lean so hard on those old folk elements and actually have a decent beat for dancing. The modern stuff isn't quite as heavy on the accordion either; they've started swapping out the squeeze-box for other instruments in most of their hits.
As for me, I enjoy listening because the melodies are catchy enough, and honestly, after a few beers, it’s the perfect soundtrack...
If someone actually figures out why people obsess over country music, or really any genre for that matter, they might just stumble upon the meaning of life itself—and finally get an answer to those big, heavy questions like, "Why does any of this even matter?" or "What is the point of everything?"

Grandma: "Honey, what's the name of that German fellow who keeps hiding things all over the house?"
Grandson: "It's Alzheimer, Grandma..."

So, how exactly does he manage to find his way into the homes of younger people?
Look, I don't actually hate any specific genre of music. If it’s not my thing, I just... don't listen to it. It's really that simple. If I'm forced into a situation where I have to endure a few hours of stuff I can't stand, fine, I'll suffer through it, but if I get the chance, I'll try to put on my own playlist.
But there is absolutely no way I'm going to act like some desperate attention-seeker in public, whining about what everyone else is listening to just so people will notice me and hear my "expert" opinion on why a song sucks... I honestly couldn't care less. For instance, I keep up with everything from rock to metal and all that, but I rarely actually sit down to listen to it. Why is it that instead of just tuning out the pop trash, people feel the need to start a massive scene and crave the spotlight?
You really have to wonder what pushes someone to take the risk of leaving a hospital against medical advice.
If they know things could go south the second they step out those doors, they must have a damn good reason for walking out. It usually boils down to the staff being difficult, the facilities feeling run-down, or just dealing with outdated equipment... and honestly, all of that is fixable if anyone actually cared to fix it.
It’s fine.
But what I really want to know is why nobody seems to care about our healthcare system, when everyone in America knows it's absolutely circling the drain.
Sure, they’ve started cracking down on doctors for taking bribes, but let’s be real: if they actually go after every single physician who isn't 100% squeaky clean, we’ll run out of them faster than you can blink.
And honestly, we’re already short-staffed as it is.
Yeah, unfortunately, it’s the truth.
I could probably file this under "jokes," but if you actually stop to think about it, there’s nothing funny about it:
We really ought to put signs on our hospital doors that read, "Enter at your own risk." It would be way more honest than those warnings about leaving without a doctor's permission... Don't you think?
I know exactly what I mean. It’s all about how this kind of music actually reaches people.
Classical music gets "delivered" through fancy concert halls, while folk hits the streets via CDs at dive bars where everyone ends up drunk and picking fights. You find these crowds packed into places, and those record stores are always swarming with all sorts of characters. Then you’ve got the hooligans blasting trashy tunes from their cars, rolling down the windows in some old greasy spoon diner.
Meanwhile, classical music gets labeled as "sophisticated"...
But Goran Bregović? He delivers that same trashy stuff to people in suits, at high-end venues and upscale parties, so suddenly everyone thinks it’s classy.
Am I wrong?

From what I've heard, plenty of people actually find success using that kind of "treatment."
We’re heading toward a massive doctor shortage, and then what? People love to whine about how doctors don't make enough money...
Well, newsflash: they won't be complaining about that very soon.

We could use that same logic to debate lovers of fine art versus people who dig kitsch. If we started calling everyone stupid just because they preferred one over the other, we’d just come off as narrow-minded, intolerant, and frankly, pretty obnoxious.

Personally, I think kitsch is an absolute eyesore and I struggle to get why anyone would enjoy it, but I know plenty of brilliant people who absolutely adore it. It’s the same deal with fans of country music.

That's mostly true. But I personally know quite a few people who are obsessed with country music, and let's just say... they aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the box.

I’ve always been a big believer in living healthy. Back in the day, whenever my stomach would act up or I felt under the weather... there wasn't a single thing a home remedy couldn't fix.
It feels like I called it. I said healthcare would be the biggest mess in America all over again, and here we go... just look at the earlier posts...
Maybe I’m the next Nostradamus...? Or maybe I’m just full of myself?...............

Should we pick up this forgotten conversation? Maybe we can actually find an answer to the question in the title.

Look, today they arrested yet another doctor for taking bribes, but hey, it was "only" $600.
And meanwhile, some kid lost his arm because doctors were out on strike...

Is Cola actually good for you? Seriously, what on earth is Coca-Cola supposed to be "useful" for?

By the way, if we're talking about junk food... just look at how many McDonald's locations there are all over the country. If deep-fried fries cooked in oil that's been reused through god-knows-how-many servings—oil that smells like it's been sitting out since the Reagan administration—were truly useless and harmful, along with those tiny little pastries that look more like Mattel toys than actual food, or those plastic-wrapped salads, then McDonald's wouldn't exist. People wouldn't be dragging their kids there for lunch every weekend.

Maybe you didn't quite catch my point... 😕
I guarantee you the executives at McDonald's and Coca-Cola don't share that sentiment. If some Coca-Cola hater actually landed a job there, they'd change their tune real fast. I even heard about someone who was absolutely thrilled when she landed an internship at Coca-Cola.
It's the exact same story with tobacco. It's rare to find a tobacco manufacturer that isn't running a solid business; most are at least doing okay.
There are a million other products out there bringing in massive piles of cash for these corporations.

That’s why it’s "useful." Personally, I rarely drink Cola unless it happens to be right in front of me. I usually stick to bamboo tea, but that's not really my thing. I prefer a cocktail. 😁
I get it... So, does that mean the Secretary of Health is basically the one pulling the strings on most of this?
Look, if Coca-Cola were actually as toxic and useless as people claim, they wouldn't be guarding that recipe like it’s the Holy Grail, it wouldn't be the most iconic drink on the planet, and they certainly wouldn't have launched a million different versions that all somehow find a way to sell.

Long live Coca-Cola!
And why on earth are we waiting so long for surgeries that are literally life-or-death?
What are the doctors even doing in the meantime that justifies such a massive wait?
Weed smoking habits in Health ·
Where can I pick this up here in the States? Or am I gonna have to go overseas to find it?
And that’s exactly what worries me. (Well, not me specifically, but the people who will actually need those kinds of surgeries)
That's why maybe he should be allowed to participate in high-stakes operations only OCCASIONALLY, or something along those lines—though I honestly doubt anyone would want a guy who's obsessed with money trying to save their life. There are some people out there who would rather just die waiting for an honest doctor...
