Harold Cook2 said:Man, things have changed so much around here. This year at my school, we’ve only got like 17 kids per class. It feels empty. Back when I was starting out at this same school, it was a totally different story—we had nearly 30 students in every single classroom, and they actually had four separate sections running. I ended up getting stuck in that last one, Section D. Total chaos compared to now.😁
Are you planning on asking for an extension? I remember you from back when we were both dealing with that whole situation—we actually gave birth just a few days apart... We're definitely going to ask for a delay.
The speech therapist and the psychologist are totally on our side, but the preschool's administration is trying to push us straight into kindergarten. Even though they openly admit the kid has real speech issues (plus concentration problems and general immaturity...) that aren't something to just brush off. They don't really have a clue what's best for the child; they basically just throw them into the deep end and tell us, "Good luck fighting it out." :/
The delay actually makes sense when you look at the big picture... we're dealing with speech issues, focus problems, and—let's be honest—emotional immaturity.
I can't help but worry about how this whole thing is going to hit him down the road, but hey, what's done is done... 🕺
I'm curious—how did your kids handle the delay? How did they take the fact that all their little friends started kindergarten while they’re still stuck hanging out at preschool?
casualmoose14 said:It honestly drives me crazy how I can burst into tears over absolutely nothing right now😠, even though I’m usually the type who stays stone-faced through everything. Even when someone passes away, I just go quiet—no tears, nothing... but riiiight now, I am a total emotional wreck😲....I just can't toughen up at all; my lip actually starts trembling. And the more I try to push through it and distract myself by thinking about Linić, Bandić, or even just watching the heavy rain hitting the windows outside, the harder it gets!!!!! And don't even get me started on the fact that I have zero clothes left that fit, and it’s already the 20th week. I've been totally sabotaging myself by avoiding buying larger sizes or any actual maternity wear, basically choosing to just lounge around the house naked until the baby arrives☕
I totally feel you! 😢 I’m just as sensitive, and honestly, just as high-strung.
We are hitting these milestones at the exact same time. I feel huge—my legs feel like freaking tree trunks... and then there's the stomach. I hate feeling this heavy, and I am definitely not enjoying pregnancy (this first one has been a total nightmare). I'm basically just white-knuckling it from one checkup to the next, waiting for the Libertarian Party to somehow fix my life. 🙂 I’ve basically given up and just live in oversized tunics and leggings.
Honestly, it’s not even my surroundings that are getting to me—it’s how much I’m driving myself crazy...
I feel like I could spend half the day crying and the other half just screaming at the walls. I haven't actually talked to silentraven6 in a week (aside from strictly business), and I can't even pinpoint why it's getting under my skin so much. 😢 Please, someone tell me it's just my hormones acting up!!!! 🙂
Then there's the guilt. I want this baby more than anything, but I was absolutely floored when I heard we’re expecting twins. Even though it was through IVF, I feel like I should have seen it coming, yet I'm totally blindsided. I feel like such a coward; maybe I'm just so terrified by the news that I can't find the headspace to relax and actually celebrate with T. My life is a total wreck right now. 😢
Thanks so much, ladies! 😍 Honestly, I feel like I’ve been running on a hamster wheel for the last four years straight. It’s just been one crisis after another, and I haven't had a single moment to actually catch my breath. To be blunt, this whole situation has me totally spooked! But seeing that you guys have been through the exact same ringer—and that things eventually settle back down—makes it a lot easier to swallow. Plus, I'm breastfeeding right now, so any kind of pelvic floor exercises are basically off the table anyway! ☕
annaaa, I really hope I’m making the right call here! 😉 I'm done sitting around waiting for doctors to tell me what to do—once those six weeks are up and the bleeding stops, I'm heading straight to Gini's.
coastallynx6 said:So, my doctor just dropped this bombshell on me: apparently, my uterus has basically decided to take a little trip downward. A prolapse. Fun, right? But don't panic—he was actually pretty chill about it. He told me everything’s going to be fine as long as I get serious about my core workouts. Apparently, if I can just rebuild those abdominal muscles and get my strength back up, things should settle back where they belong. Time to hit the gym, I guess.👍
😲 Explain yourself! Did you actually feel anything? Did you see something happen? Or did your gin just start talking back to you?
I’m really crossing my fingers that I actually have the right to be worried here and that I’m just being totally dramatic, because from what I’ve heard, it’s definitely possible (check the link in the first post).
So, here’s the deal: I’m postpartum. After getting discharged from the hospital, life just kind of hit me all at once with some personal stuff, and I ended up jumping straight back into my usual routine. I wasn't exactly playing it safe or making sure I didn't lift anything heavy... It’s still way too early to be thinking about pelvic floor exercises or anything like that—it hasn't even been six weeks yet.
And honestly? You guys are right. I seriously should have kept my eyes off that!!!!!!!! 🙄
I’m starting this thread because I honestly don’t know where else to turn... I’m pretty freaked out and could really use some advice... 😢
I gave birth just a month ago—my first baby—so I had zero clue what the recovery process was supposed to actually feel like. Every now and then, I get these abdominal cramps that feel just like my period is coming. But today, while I was trying to use the bathroom (and yeah, I already deal with constipation issues), I had to strain quite a bit. Afterward, I noticed the bleeding had picked up, so I grabbed a mirror to check things out. Right there at the entrance, I saw what looked like tissue sticking out inside... maybe part of the uterus? 😢 The bleeding is heavier now, too, and the color is much brighter—almost like a loud, vivid red... Everything I can find online points to this: http://webmd.com/baby/articles/postpartum-bleeding-and-tissue-passing
I just went back to the bathroom, and a tiny little piece of tissue actually ended up on the toilet paper! 😲
🤣 Honestly, I feel your pain... I’ll spend forever shaving, only to realize I missed half the spots! Getting my toes looking right is just as much of a struggle. It’s exhausting, but hey, I’m not giving up! 😳😁
mali_cox said:So why wouldn't you just shave before giving birth? Honestly, I never did a full cleanup until my last pregnancy, but during those final months, I was staying on top of everything. Every second or third shower, I’d just trim back whatever had grown, so by the time I hit the delivery room, I was completely smooth. 🤷 I didn't even need a mirror; I just figured it out as I went. 😁
🤷 I don't get it either! Ever since I got pregnant, I've been shaving everything (back when I actually knew how to style my hair, anyway). I would have been absolutely mortified showing up to my OB-GYN or walking into the hospital looking unkempt. There's really no excuse here—it's not like it's rocket science for me or you, so I don't see why anyone else would find it such a struggle... Just plain old laziness, if you ask me. ☕
Rebecca Vaughn7, look, your mother isn't going to lose anything by having a grandchild around—if anything, she’s winning big time! 😉 It’s pretty obvious she’s just unhappy and projecting that possessiveness onto you (she loves you a little too much, let's be real), but any grandkids you bring into this world are nothing but a massive upgrade for her life. Just frame it that way when the time comes. I'm rooting for you to get pregnant ASAP! 😍
What is actually going on with all you moms??? 😲 If my mom even breathed a word of that kind of nonsense, she’d be looking at a solid three or four hours of tears, me slamming the phone receiver down, ignoring her calls, and a non-stop lecture on just how cold-blooded and disrespectful she’s being! 😁 I don't tolerate that kind of stupidity from anyone—not even my own mother!
And as for friends... rustyrider3, you seriously don't need friends like that in your life! ☕
Personally, nothing gets under my skin more than those empty-headed women (mostly the 50+ crowd 😕) hovering around me with unsolicited advice about how I shouldn't let myself gain weight! For the record, I am not overweight, and even if I were, why on earth is it their business!?! 🤷 Do we really live in a society where being overweight is considered the ultimate sin???????
I guess it’s my turn to vent about my husband today... 😢 Honestly, I feel like strangling him! 😠
We were out for a run, we both had pathetic lunches, and we stopped for coffee before heading home just to catch our breath... While we're sitting there, I ask him if he's hungry (🙄 stupid question, clearly I was thinking about my own stomach) and he says he's not really feeling it... But fine, he could have easily handled two slices of pizza—and I don't even like pizza that much—so I tell him, "Fine, but I'll just grab a sandwich."
And what does he do? He drives us straight to the one place that *only* serves pizza! 😢 I didn't even want to order anything, and I spent the whole ride home grumbling, hoping he'd take the hint and suggest somewhere else, but nope... nothing. Once we pulled up to the building and I realized we were stuck with nothing but dough and cheese, he actually took my joke the wrong way. I stormed out of the car into this freezing weather and hiked 15 minutes to the nearest McDonald's. I just walked through the door 10 minutes ago, and the house is dead silent (I'm guessing he's giving me the cold shoulder 🙄), thinking that if he ignores me, I'll eventually calm down. Not happening! I am already plotting my revenge! 😳
analognomad59 said:I guess it just depends on the person, 😉 it seems to me like some people get hit way harder by those hormone shifts than others. It’s kind of like postpartum depression—some women go through it and it's devastating, while others feel totally fine. So, if someone is having a great time, it doesn't mean they should turn around and claim that postpartum depression is just a bunch of nonsense or that those women are just making excuses for "body changes"...
In all honesty, I think you should just be happy you didn't have to deal with all that drama, rather than trying to apply your own logic to everyone else's experience... 😉
Signed!
Don't go treating hormone levels like some casual suggestion. They aren't just minor tweaks to your system; they're the entire engine room. You can't just mess around with them and expect everything to run smoothly. 🙂 I don't mind them one bit—honestly, I consider myself pretty lucky. I know plenty of people who are absolute pros at "cleaning up" their act.
It honestly drives me insane how nobody actually gives a damn about how I’m doing—they only care about my appearance and how much weight I’ve put on! 🙄
I am so incredibly over the rude comments and those constant, mindless measurements people try to pin on me, telling me what I've gained and how much more I'm "supposed" to gain...
I am seriously losing my mind over people touching my belly! Like, actually losing it! Before I can even process what’s happening, people start interrogating me about how many months I am and exactly how big the bump is... And then comes that exact moment where they pull at my shirt just to get a better look at where their hands have already been! 😠😠😠
What makes my blood boil even more is that it’s usually just random acquaintances—people I barely even talk to—instead of actual family members!!! 😠
☕ Look, if you're still in this much pain, just head to the ER. You don't need to wait for an appointment with a doctor! Let me know how everything turns out... And seriously, find yourself a new doctor!
