Muscle weakness in Health ·
nobody knows anything 😢
I noticed this morning that I can't quite straighten my ring finger...
Muscle weakness in Health ·
I originally posted this thread over on the Red subforum, but I didn't really get much traction there. I had this nagging thought that my current "condition" might be entirely unrelated to being pregnant, but since nobody else was stepping up to share their own personal struggles, the conversation just stalled.

To wrap it all up:

I’m currently sixteen weeks into my pregnancy, and for the last four or five days, I’ve been hit with this overwhelming weakness in my arms and legs. It’s honestly difficult to put into words—this profound sense of total physical frailty. It all came on so suddenly. There isn't any actual pain, and I'm not dealing with muscle cramps or anything like that. I actually went to see a physical therapist who assured me that my spine looks perfectly fine and suggested that if a nerve were pinched, I’d definitely be feeling some localized pain. While the massage therapy he provided helped a tiny bit, I’m still dragging myself through the day; I can't even tackle a flight of stairs without white-knuckling the handrail with both hands. To give you an idea of how desperate I am: I can't even pick up my two-year-old if they happen to trip and fall.
The bottom line is that I feel absolutely terrible. I'm at a loss as to who to turn to for actual help. Has anyone here ever dealt with something similar?

It’s such a toxic hobby...😁
But man, it's so good😍

Kit Kat—Butter Roasted Corn

Okay, this one is an absolute game changer...

Since you're already teasing us, why don't you drop a link or tell us which site you use to order these? We might as well join in on this pricey little obsession of yours!

Personally, I’ve always had a soft spot for Raffaello and those high-end chocolates. That Lindt with mint is right up my alley.😍

P.S. I have a weakness for gummy candies too, but let's not get too carried away discussing that...😳
The Speculaas from Lidl—you know, the one filled with those little bits of chocolate—and that 60% cocoa chocolate from Lidl... absolute milkiness!
Lately, I’ve been finding a certain sophisticated pleasure in dark chocolates—the 70% cocoa variety specifically. It’s become a bit of a daily ritual for me; right after lunch, I treat myself to a single square, and honestly, it’s pure bliss.
As for my more unrefined cravings, there is something about the chemistry of gummy candies that I just can't resist.😬

Usually, my cycle is incredibly predictable, always hitting right at the 28-day mark around 2:00 PM, but this month? It's late. It’s only been a few days, but... 😕 I can't shake this gut feeling that I might actually be pregnant.
Apparently, some women still get their period during the first month of pregnancy—is that actually a thing? If anyone here has gone through something similar, I'd really appreciate the insight: 🙏

Honey, you already have a massive thread dedicated to this over on the other board.Just go grab a pregnancy test to settle the nerves for everyone wondering where they stand.
And hey, if the test comes back positive, congratulations! Congratulations!!!!!!
Just grab a pregnancy test in a couple of days and see where you actually stand. All this nervous guessing isn't going to get you any closer to an answer; it could be anything, or it could be nothing at all.
This is an excellent topic. I’m not entirely sure if everyone else has caught your drift yet, but your point is that we should be discussing actual symptoms—specifically those vague, nebulous sensations that people tend to dismiss as random coincidences when they don't have a diagnosis. It’s only once you finally receive a definitive medical diagnosis that you realize all those seemingly unrelated issues were actually part of the same underlying condition.
Fortunately, we haven't dealt with any malignant illnesses in my family, but I will certainly be bookmarking this thread for future reference.

Drugs are entirely subjective; one person might feel like they’re flying high while another spirals straight into paranoia. That's why I’m a firm believer in the "try everything once" approach—you have to experiment to figure out what actually works for you. 🙄
dustypilot22 should probably stick to discussing politics instead. 🙂

Oh, come on, don't be like that—you aren't actually that bad.😍 😬

It’s much better for someone to fail because they jumped in without knowing the ropes than to walk blindly into a disaster simply because nobody told them what was coming—or because they were too stubborn to realize they were out of their depth. We need to be talking more about the permit process.

I agree with the sentiment, but he wasn't actually looking for literature; he was asking for a recommendation on which high would be the best one.🙄
That’s entirely subjective, really. The most effective way to learn is through hands-on experience—you know, actually taking it. That way, you figure out what works for you and what doesn't before deciding how to proceed.

Looking at his initial post, there isn't a single hint that he cares about the consequences; he just wants to try SOME kind of drug.
Honestly, forget this... I'll just sit here and dream about eating artichokes with young Bob Dylan... that sounds ten thousand times better than any trip could ever be!

I’m a firm believer that everyone should be free to live however they choose, provided we stick to one fundamental rule: they have to pay for their own habits with money they actually earned.*

*And let's be clear—that money shouldn't come from theft or shady business dealings!

If someone knows how to make an honest living, then what they do with their leisure time is their business.
I have a relative who was deep into heroin at seventeen, completely lost in it, but she managed to get clean by the time she turned twenty-one. Her husband went through the exact same thing and is sober now too—though I can't tell if his current struggles are a lingering effect of the drugs or just the aftermath of his time serving in the military.
Before he met her and finally found some sense, the guy probably wouldn't have made it past thirty-two; you don't see many people willing to go through that kind of transformation for love.
My relative's husband smokes a few joints a day now, and honestly, he seems perfectly fine, even if he gets a little spaced out every once in a while.
Then there's my neighbor, who has been smoking weed daily for the last twenty years, and he definitely lives in a bit of a permanent fog.
I know one former acquaintance who is still stuck in a cycle of addiction, but I actually owe another guy a thank you for introducing me to the best hash I’ve ever had in my life (thanks, Frankie! :cerk🙂).... and in my eyes, all of them are just regular people, not "addicts" in the way society defines them.🙄

However, when I see those two desperate junkies wandering from the slums over to the downtown district looking for a fix, seeing people like that makes me want to retch. It makes me want to take a swing at anyone advocating for drug use. It doesn't matter how many people successfully pull themselves out of the gutter; what matters is that some corporate clone or corrupt official could inadvertently nudge a fourteen-year-old kid into trying it, and it’s us who end up paying the price. That kid is the one who truly gets screwed over. We're all going down together if we keep playing games with this issue.

I would never, under any circumstances, advise my own child to touch drugs—regardless of anything I’ve experienced personally.

Go over to the UN diet topic; things are a bit more sane over there....

😁

That’s quite a quote you've got there.

I’d suggest he tries some heavy-duty steroid creams, maybe even a little Bruiser, though honestly, even a greasy slice of pizza from a local diner isn't a bad way to go about it. 😬
And just so we're clear, you'll be carrying the consequences of those choices around your hips for the rest of your life. 😍

Do you all honestly believe that life requires us to experiment with everything just to figure out if it suits us—or worse, to feel qualified enough to lecture others about it? I don't have kids of my own, but when I see someone with children throwing their lives away and leaving a legacy of nothingness, I feel perfectly entitled to say, "That’s not how you raise a child," regardless of my own parental status.

In my view, this individual is just playing games; if they were actually using substances, they’d be busy doing it rather than starting a thread saying, "I think I'll try drugs."🙄

As for intoxicants, the only things even remotely acceptable are hashish and marijuana because the effects on men and women seem manageable; the women get a bit energized, while the men stay more than capable of performing in bed.

Honestly, what is wrong with you people? The guy has the desire and he certainly has the cash, and since his friends are already doing it, why shouldn't he join the club? 🙄
And please, let’s stop trying to scare him with the threat of the police; as far as I am aware, simply having the intention to use drugs isn't even a crime yet. He will have plenty of opportunities to deal with our lovely local law enforcement later on.

Instead of spending this entire thread lecturing him about staying clean, we could actually be useful by providing a list of decent counselors or rehab centers. 😘

You might want to consider getting your thyroid checked out; if things aren't functioning correctly there, it could very well be the underlying culprit behind any weight gain. Besides, certain medications are notorious for causing people to pack on the pounds—usually through water retention and other physiological quirks that are hard to account for.

What was the name of that confused young Indian guy again? Was it Ed? I was absolutely head over heels for him! Honestly, that series was such a phenomenal ride 😍
Death from bulimia-anorexia in Health ·
Angela Wright said:That’s not quite right. People suffering from bulimia-anorexia are driven to that dangerously thin state known as bulimia-anorexia. You don't necessarily have to deal with bulimia to develop bulimia-anorexia, though in most instances, they tend to go hand in hand.

Precisely. It’s a distinction worth making: those who simply refuse to eat or severely restrict their intake fall into the category of bulimia-anorexia, whereas those who engage in purging behaviors are dealing with bulimia. Frequently, these two struggles overlap, resulting in individuals who struggle with both restriction and purging. On the flip side, you also have people struggling with bulimia who may be significantly overweight.

Recovering from this requires professional intervention at specialized clinics. No one can truly conquer this illness through sheer willpower alone, nor can they do it without the dedicated support of doctors and loved ones.

Death from bulimia-anorexia in Health ·
It’s truly devastating when someone so young is taken from us. My suspicion is that this was a perfect storm of circumstances: bulimia-anorexia, which relentlessly drains the body and collapses the immune system; medication—likely psychiatric in nature, since there isn't a magic pill to fix the physical manifestations of bulimia itself; and alcohol. Now, I’m certainly not suggesting that a single Red Bull mixed with vodka is a death sentence, but when you stack all those factors together, they might have just become too much for her system to handle. Of course, it’s also possible there was an entirely different underlying cause.
It reminds me of how journalists tend to sensationalize everything with headlines claiming someone "died of bulimia." Personally, I find that kind of reporting rather distasteful, even if we set the eating disorder aside for a moment.
Bulimia is a disease that hollows out both the body and the mind. It’s similar to how people often focus solely on the physical complications of obesity, when in reality, treating obesity requires addressing the psychological roots first—people need to understand why they struggle with weight in order to heal. In the same vein, individuals struggling with bulimia-anorexia need to be guided toward help and shown that they are dealing with a genuine illness, so they can reach that realization themselves and actually seek treatment.
Ultimately, it is just incredibly tragic that such a young woman is no longer with us.😢
