Does your doctor play it that way, or are you basically having a full-blown panic attack from the moment you walk through the clinic doors until you finally escape back outside?
And honestly, this whole "white coat syndrome" thing is pretty much just your own brain playing tricks on you... if you know they're about to cuff your arm, your pressure spikes, and if you think they're checking your pulse, suddenly it's racing, and if you realize they're counting your breaths, you start breathing all heavy and fast... just try focusing on literally anything else while you're sitting there waiting for your turn...
Exactly this. It's a real headache when it actually matters—like getting cleared for a new job or passing a DMV physical. You could be perfectly healthy, but the second you step into a clinic, everything goes sideways... Might make it hard to get that medical clearance we all need...
Every time I walk into a doctor's office, the panic hits. My heart starts racing, my face and neck go bright red, and everything just feels incredibly tense... naturally, by the time they actually take my vitals, my blood pressure is through the roof.
The doc told me it’s just white coat syndrome...
I'm curious, if any of you deal with this, how do you handle it??? Does anyone swear by natural remedies to take the edge off?

Can someone break this down for me? What am I actually looking at here? 🙏
I'm not sure if I can get this exactly right. Honestly, maybe not. I didn't want to crowd them with questions while the whole family was still reeling from the shock. His wife mentioned they were told that certain food particles are just "expelled" by the body, and that those "lumps" and blisters start forming around them... is that even possible? Does anyone actually know what's going on here?😕😕
I’m looking for some advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before or knows someone who has...
A friend of mine was diagnosed yesterday with a thickening in his large intestine. It all kicked off last night—intense lower abdominal pain, weakness, vomiting. The pain was so unbearable he had to head to the ER. They admitted him to the hospital to try and manage it with antibiotics under constant supervision. Basically, they thought they could get the thickening under control with meds alone. Then this morning, things took a turn. It turns out the thickening ruptured, and he had to go into emergency surgery immediately. I don't have all the details yet, but I've been told he's in the ICU. The surgery went okay, and they’ve put him on an ostomy bag.
Right now, we're just sitting here terrified about the risk of sepsis, especially since he’s had heart arrhythmia issues in the past...
Has anyone here gone through a similar procedure? Please, if you have any insight, let me know. 🙏🙏🙏
I’m looking for some advice or maybe just a bit of perspective here. My dad got his bloodwork back today, and his GGT is sitting at 337. Everything else looked normal, except for his blood pressure being high. Can anyone tell me how much of a red flag this result actually is?
So, I'm dealing with these Faraday bumps on my upper lip. From what I've managed to dig up online, there doesn't seem to be a specific cure out there... just a lot of dead ends.
Has anyone else dealt with this? And if you did, did you actually find a way to get rid of them? 😕
I've been on the pill for seven years now, and every single time I walk into a pharmacy, they ask for a prescription. They always make sure to write the date and the quantity on the back of the box, too. Every single time...
My doctor didn't even suggest taking a break. She thinks there’s no point since I’m not dealing with any side effects and my blood work looks fine... She told me if I want to stop, I can, because it's my call. But she doesn't see the need for it.
I'm curious about what everyone else is doing: take a break or just push through?! 🤷
I've been reading this thread and seeing that some women have been on these things for years without stopping once.
I’ve been on birth control pills for seven years now (Cilest)... I’m starting to wonder if taking them for this long is actually bad for you. Will it cause any issues with getting pregnant down the road?
Scott Allen10 said:Look, I'm no expert... it doesn't seem like a huge deal. Personally, I’m a believer that you shouldn't freak out over every single lab result if you aren't actually feeling sick. And you mentioned you were just getting bloodwork done for a routine checkup anyway.
The only thing that's got me worried is those high white blood cell counts. 😠 Aside from my birth control, I'm not taking anything else. No symptoms, no complaints... nothing.
Moderators, please let me know if this isn't the right sub for this... I already tried posting in the correct section, but they shut it down on me.
Does anyone here know what the penalties look like for a car accident involving property damage, assuming nobody was drinking or under the influence...?
Are we talking just a fine, or points on my license, or losing my driver's license entirely... or maybe all of the above?
If that spot moves when he shifts his gaze or squeezes his eye slightly, it could be a burst capillary—basically some bleeding in the vitreous. It's one of those things.
I actually had a friend go through something very similar, so I'm just drawing a parallel here. It sounds pretty much the same. He should definitely head to an ophthalmologist to get it checked out. Most likely, they'll just prescribe some eye drops.
They mentioned it moves when they shift their gaze... it follows their line of sight. Apparently, it's pretty distracting. Just an uncomfortable feeling...
A guy from my office just called me, sounding pretty rattled. He says he’s been seeing this black spot in his vision since this morning. He checked himself out in the mirror and insists there's nothing physically wrong with the eye itself, but it's like this dark smudge just drifting around in his field of view. We're both getting a little worried about it. If anyone has any advice or has dealt with something similar, we'd really appreciate it...
