I’ve been reading through this forum, and it seems like everyone is telling me I should be taking folic acid to deal with HPV. Now, I know Centrum multivitamins have some folic acid in them, but I’m wondering if there's actually a standalone supplement out there... just straight-up folic acid tablets?
I’ve run into a bit of a situation and could really use some input from you all.
I’ve been on birth control pills—specifically Estary—and honestly, I’ve never had any side effects before. But this last cycle, I wasn't exactly perfect with my timing. I missed a few doses and ended up taking them late. Even though I haven't finished the full 21-day pack yet, I started seeing some light spotting... just this brownish-red discharge.
Do you think this is just what happens when you aren't consistent with the pills? Has anyone here dealt with something similar? Or maybe you've heard of this happening...
I was on antibiotics and just stayed in bed. I didn't dare step foot outside until it cleared up. Applying heat to those swollen spots helped... I’d warm a towel up on the radiator and wrap it around my neck.
Maybe try searching online for some info on lymph nodes, you should find something out there!
The doctor will probably walk her through exactly what's going on.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing serious 👍
Exactly... They even call it the "kissing disease." You can pick it up from a kiss, sharing silverware, or even just using the same glass at a bar. It’s incredibly easy to catch—I've seen firsthand how poorly they wash glassware in some of these local spots.
Her bloodwork probably won't look great, but she shouldn't stress too much about it. It's totally normal for an infection like this to mess with your numbers.
She was such an incredible woman, always knowing exactly what to say to lift you up... So much strength, and she never once backed down.
Zendaya, I know you've found peace now, but heaven just gained another angel... I know we'll cross paths again someday. Until then, you're staying right here in our hearts and memories.
It’ll probably be swollen lymph nodes... maybe even the parotid glands if it hurts when you touch them. I'm not sure if she's been under the weather lately—you know, dealing with a nasty cold or the flu—which might have triggered the swelling in the first place.
I went through the exact same thing with swelling right under both ears when I had mumps. It was brutal; I couldn't even eat or swallow properly because of the swelling. It's not fun, not by a long shot. Toss in a fever and everything else, and you're stuck. You basically have to stay in bed and rest for a few weeks, but eventually, it passes and you're back to normal...
Don't sweat it, I'm sure she'll be just fine. It really isn't anything to worry about!
I’m echoing all those wonderful wishes everyone’s been sharing...Wishing you all a happy and much healthier New Year 2007! And thanks again to everyone for the support and the solid advice.
Like I already said, my dad was the one who "showed changes related to HP" on his exam. The doctor just told me to come back for another Pap smear in exactly six months, hoping it might just clear itself up. If only it were that easy...🙏
I got the exact same diagnosis back in November. My doctor didn't really give me much to go on—no real advice or game plan for dealing with HP—so I had to go out and hunt for answers myself. Honestly, you can learn a hell of a lot on these forums if you know where to look. There are tons of different stories floating around here, but the consensus is always the same: you've got to try to live healthier. Though, let's be real... with how fast life moves these days, how doable is that actually?
If you can manage it, you should probably cut down on stress, try not to sweat the small stuff, stay active, and get enough sleep. As for supplements, I’ve been taking Centrum—it covers all the bases, vitamins, folic acid... that sort of thing. I also take aloe vera in effervescent tablets because they're just easier to deal with. A lot of people swear by Noni juice (there are capsules too) and Colostrum. But from what I’ve heard, you shouldn't mix Noni and aloe vera at the same time. You have to space them out, otherwise you might end up with a counterproductive mess.
The bottom line is working on your immune system...
In the end, your body will tell you where you stand. I'm sincerely, truly hoping I can clear this HP once and for all. And I'M PULLING FOR ALL THE OTHER WOMEN fighting this same battle. They say 90% of people clear it eventually. Good luck to everyone.
