I haven't been following this whole thread closely, but I think providing strong sedatives during this stage is incredibly important. My primary care physician prescribed some Durogesic patches, and I have to say, they were honestly really effective at managing the pain. There are different strengths available, so maybe check in with your family doctor about it. It’s also vital to apply and remove them exactly as directed, without skipping doses, to ensure the effect stays continuous. The patient does seem a bit drowsy and prone to slight hallucinations, but nothing extreme. The pain is gone. I'd definitely suggest looking into getting these.
Gut issues?

If you're seeing mucus or blood in your stool, you really should get a colonoscopy done. I guess you ought to see a Gastroenterologist immediately, because things could potentially be VERY serious.
Sanitary pads vs. tampons: What are your favorites?

Air vitamins? Like we're actually out here hunting for nutrients in the breeze while we breathe? LOL
What a ridiculous marketing stunt. 🙂

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion]
in Women's Health ·
I’ve dealt with melanoma, and since then, my gynecologist hasn't wanted to prescribe birth control pills. Melanoma is a skin cancer that can be influenced by hormones (similar to breast cancer and a few others). Though, the last doctor I saw actually thinks it isn't a contraindication?!?
In what specific situations are pills off the table? Are there any of you dealing with this?
I have to admit, I haven't found much online regarding the link between pills and melanoma, but I guess I'll ask an oncologist 🙂

What's the best way to lose belly fat?
in Hobbies & Leisure ·
I’m struggling with extra weight, but the worst part is that it all seems to settle right in my stomach. Even when I lose weight, my chest, arms, and legs slim down first, which just looks really unbalanced.
I feel like I've tried everything, but the belly fat won't budge. Has anyone actually managed to get rid of abdominal fat? And I don't mean just a little bit of fluff or some loose skin after having a baby—I mean actual fat. How did you do it? What kind of exercise actually works? I've tried swimming, cycling, and walking, but nothing seems to make a difference...
I'm not a fan of crunches, and honestly, I can barely do them because my stomach gets in the way whenever I try to bend over.
Has anyone truly made progress on this? If so, how?
I guess I'm just looking for some hope that it's possible. 🙂
And what about diet? Should I go high protein? Or maybe keto? I also deal with bloating; it isn't just gas, but it still looks pretty bad.

Getting FIT in 2024: The Challenge! :)
in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Hi everyone,
I imagine a lot of you might be looking to become a bit more active this year—whether that's physically or mentally. Maybe you want to build some stamina, get a little fitter, or just feel more focused and dialed in. If that sounds like you, why not join this group? Please share exactly what steps you're planning to take to actually make it happen.
As for me, I’m going to try to get at least six hours of sleep every night. :-) Eventually, I'll probably try to add some other habits too. I once read something on an American forum that really stuck with me. A woman posted that she was going to aim for a specific amount of sleep each day, remember three things from the morning news, and... well, I can't recall the third thing. But I liked the idea. 🙂
I know it might sound a bit silly to some, but for me, making sure I get those six hours of sleep every single night is going to take some real effort. I haven't quite decided on my goals for diet, exercise, or mental exercises yet. What about you guys? What are your plans? Please be specific! 🙂

My body—or maybe just my brain—develops these little nervous habits whenever I'm under massive stress. I start biting my lips, pulling at my hair strand by strand, and I just can't sit still. On top of that, even the smallest things make me burst into tears. I also tend to get angry really quickly, sometimes enough to end up breaking things around the house. I feel anxious and on edge, too. Usually, I'm not like this, so when these symptoms start showing up, I know the stress has gotten out of hand and I need to slow down. Most of the time, it all happens subconsciously.
And yeah, insomnia and slight weight loss are definitely part of it.
🙂
This is a really good description. 🙂
For me, my eyelid starts twitching uncontrollably... it's honestly terrifying! 🙂
Cancer, aspartame, MSG...
in Health ·
I know aspartame is harmful; I used to be really careful about it, but I guess my focus has slipped lately. As for glutamate, I'm never quite sure how it's actually listed on food labels since I've heard it goes by so many different names, so I just kind of gave up trying to track it. I've started paying more attention to additives in general, though I'm still a long way from being perfect at it. I don't usually consider 🙂
