Child sexual abuse: How to spot the signs? in Psychology ·
This is standard childhood behavior; it happens to everyone. It isn't sexual abuse. Abuse requires a power imbalance, but these are just kids on level ground—there’s no victim here, just curiosity.

I have heard countless stories similar to this, yet nobody ever labeled them as abuse.

Perhaps your issues with intimacy stem from something else entirely; I doubt this is the cause...

Look, when you're talking about a twenty-four-year span, this whole situation takes on a whole new level of demonic intensity. Claiming he was abused by his mother doesn't even begin to cover why this dragged on for a quarter of a century!
Now he’s out here acting terrified that some cannibalistic rapist-hater is going to devour him in prison. Give me a break. He's nothing but a pure victim, no question about it.

It’s honestly sickening how much the scum loves a construction site or an arena—they have this pathological obsession with crime scenes and slaughterhouses. 😢😲

They act like they didn't know a single thing about Fritz's work during those twenty-four years.

It’s a brutal concept to wrap my head around, but here it is: some theories suggest we live multiple lives in different bodies, cycling through every possible role—from the victim to the predator. We've played them all at some point.

Yet, I can't seem to switch off my empathy or my moral compass; maybe that's my flaw. Perhaps I should strive for Stoicism. Since I can't, I just hope they test new drugs on someone like Jeffrey Dahmer instead. To me, that's a much more acceptable alternative than testing on rabbits.

Well articulated, but please, spare the animals the insults. 😍

The Catholic Church is demonic if you ask me. They have zero authority on morality or health.

It's common knowledge that Israel uses Nazi tactics. Can I even borrow a book on this from the library?

Adam Miller46 said:Honestly, I’d rather see him among twelve men being beaten nearly to death—just enough to stay alive—so that every time he recovers, he starts all over again, like Sisyphus and his boulder.... until, of course, he finally dies of natural causes... Has anyone actually seen that man's eyes? He looks like he thinks he owns life and death itself...

His gaze is straight out of a horror movie.

If you ask me, people who intentionally commit evil acts definitely need to be put in total isolation with others just like them.

Now, that's an intriguing concept...

Tyler Reyes86 said:Oh, sure, a Jewish conspiracy. I think anyone with half a brain can see through that. And let me guess—is the Holocaust just a fairy tale to you too? Or have you finally decided to join reality?

True enough, but there is still one single religion functioning as a political platform with actual legislative power today. Can you guess which one?

Look, the Holocaust is JUST ONE CRIME, but it certainly gets the most PR. What about the atrocities that get a free pass? Think about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, global colonialism and genocide, the destruction of Dresden, and of course—the occupation of Palestine.

Maybe the Black Cat...? That was a grim depiction of love gone wrong.

Tyler Reyes86 said:So, we’re diving into conspiracy theories now, are we? And you’re claiming that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad actually supports a totally secular Palestine and nothing else? That's quite the take.🤣
By the way, just so we don't drift completely off course—in certain primitive, patriarchal cultures, someone like Jeffrey Dahmer would probably get away with everything.

It’s pathetic that he actually got away with it here, too.

granitetiger69 said:It’s kind of surprising you haven't heard of Natascha. I mean, when she first surfaced, people were talking about her for weeks. Every news outlet and website was running updates on her constantly.

But anyway;
Natascha Kampusch is a girl from Austria who was kidnapped and held captive for over eight years.
She managed to escape one day back in 2006 while she was cleaning her kidnapper's car in the yard.
Her case is pretty unique because, during her captivity, she actually fell in love with him.
He gave her books, educated her, stuff like that. She's often cited as an example of someone experiencing Stockholm syndrome.
You can read more about her here (it's in English)

Thanks. It's coming back to me now. It had completely slipped my mind.

It seems entirely plausible that even the blind forces of random mutation decided to "gift" some boys with a vagina, much to the absolute delight of guys like Doug Stanhope.

How terrible 👎

Especially when I think about Jerry Seinfeld—I just don't get it.

And the audience? They probably had their brains surgically removed.

ironowl3 said:I just saw that he’ll be keeping all those luxuries even while in custody. Meanwhile, his daughter was forced to sell the house and move away entirely. And where are his wife and mother-in-law in all of this? Natasha only bought back her own home just to stop someone else from turning it into a profit-driven business venture.

Can someone please explain who Natascha is?

granitetiger69 said:I don't get it either. How does Josef Fritzl get charged while the wife walks free?
I mean, I don't think anyone could convince me that I wouldn't notice an entire FAMILY living in my basement for 25 years. Like, if my husband was constantly bringing down extra food, extra beds, mattresses, diapers... I don't know. I'd probably hear noise, or crying, or something. At the very least, I'd feel the urge to go down there after a year just to check things out or drop off some old stuff.
No one can tell me she isn't guilty or that she didn't know what was happening.

Personally, I think it was a huge mistake that she wasn't sentenced alongside him. Even if it was just pure fear of reporting him, she was still part of the crime just as much as he was.

Exactly. It's a total injustice.

Rebecca Scott3 said:I honestly think there are at least a thousand people in the USA who won't be able to afford that kind of comfort, constant care, and luxury when they get older...
...As for him? I’d just lock him up right where he kept his daughter and grandkids. Put him in the same kind of isolation with those exact same rules (minus the screaming and the physical abuse)... and just slide food through the door. It would be nothing more than what the locals brought him... nothing better than what he forced upon his slaves... while charging admission for tourists to wander around, film everything, and wait for his end to arrive...
His life would depend entirely on the mercy of others... every single day... until the very end... and there wouldn't be any medical care...

Now that is a beautiful, perfect Solomon's solution!👍

But since we consider ourselves so "civilized," apparently psychiatry—that "science" everyone loves to hate—is going to provide him with psychotherapy like it’s the good old days. What a wildly successful life!

Edward Flores4 said:Honestly, the whole idea of being "normal" basically went out the window once society became this massive, interconnected machine. We’ve been living in civilization for so long now that the very concept has lost its teeth—nobody even remembers what an actual baseline looks like anymore.

If you ask me, being "normal" just means being slightly neurotic enough to function in this environment. I’m putting "normal" in quotes for a reason. No one is out there policing them, and they aren't breaking any laws. But from where I'm sitting, they aren't just a little neurotic—they're straight-up cavemen from another planet.

I saw a great Quote on another thread: All the world's evil stems from mediocrity...

Raymond Ruiz94 said:At least they were actually looking for Natash. If he had been any smarter, he probably would have played the part of the concerned husband better. It seems like his intelligence failed him there. Or, if he did notice something, maybe he was the one making threats. I think you guys are jumping to conclusions too.

Man, I have no idea what you're talking about. Explain yourself.

What exactly are you talking about?
