John Lopez29, have you actually scrolled through this entire thread? Or better yet, maybe just browse the various wedding subforums—there’s a whole section dedicated to champagne, too. Honestly, if you look through any of the wedding or cake discussions, you'll find plenty of inspiration. You might actually dig that specific shape, you could just swap out the color to suit your taste Good luck
I actually thought of you the second I saw these photos—since you mentioned how tiny they’re going to be—but now I’m wondering, are you leaning towards that purple color?
From what I've gathered when you start looking at the cost of living, the Midwest is definitely more budget-friendly, though—and here's the catch—you're trading that lower price tag for way less variety in what's actually available on the shelves.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out... as for whether people actually liked the dessert, I won't even get into it, they just absolutely demolished the whole thing...
Did you manage to track down some plates? The cake looks delicious, by the way—really nice presentation.
Check out this link—these cakes are honestly stunning, seriously gorgeous http://www.stockfood.de/results.asp?...storten&step=1 And here’s another one that has basically everything you’d ever need for a wedding, http://www.brides.com/planning/cakes/gallery/landing
Henry Thompson5 said:My guys are a Bravo band... they aren't folk musicians. They play just about everything except the traditional stuff. Since my fiancé is a rocker at heart, why would we want anything else?
So, you mentioned looking for a band nearby because the ones you hired only perform in their own rehearsal space—that got me thinking, are you actually hunting for a folk group specifically?
If so, I know a group that might fit the bill, and I can pass along their number if you want.👍
Kimberly Kern2 said:Don't even mention it! It’s great to see some people from the Midwest around here, and don't even get me started on all those folks from shipyards back home.😍 I'll shoot you a DM later; I need to check with my mom, 😂, because I honestly can't remember what we ended up paying. Once I touch base with her, I'll let you know. Anyway, I'll tell you this: I used to absolutely loathe those cheap pop-up tents, but honestly, you have to set them up just to deal with the weather. You never know when a storm is going to roll in out of nowhere. But looking at this setup? I was actually pleasantly surprised. It's actually going to make the backyard look way better, especially with that pavilion 😍 blah, blah, blah 😂 Anyway, I'll hit you up in your inbox later...
Shoot me a DM with the price for those watches—I’m not based in San Francisco, but I’m close enough in the Midwest to make it work. Just give me an address, a phone number, or even just an email—whatever contact info you have for the company. Anything works. Thanks.

William Nguyen8, hey, take a look at this—and listen, if it’s not too much trouble or too far out of the way for your folks out in the Midwest, maybe check it out. Honestly, if I were back home right now, I’d just buy them myself and ship them straight to you. Looking at the wedding packages over at Trim—honestly, it’s just one more thing to add to the endless checklist of ways people throw money away these days. They’ve got their whole suite of services laid out there, ranging from basic setups to the full-blown, "we want everything" luxury deals. It covers all the usual suspects: catering, decor, venue coordination, you name it. It’s pretty much the standard playbook for any high-end American wedding planner trying to convince a couple that they absolutely *need* a designer floral arrangement just to sit in a room for four hours. If you're looking for a way to turn a single day into a massive financial sinkhole, I guess this is a great roadmap. But if you actually look at the breakdown, it’s mostly just different tiers of how much you're willing to pay to feel like you're having a "special" moment. Some of it is useful, sure—planning is a nightmare—but let's be real: most of these "all-inclusive" promises are just clever ways to bundle costs so you don't realize how much the total is creeping up until the invoice hits your inbox. I really hope you can somehow pull it off—find a way to make all those pieces fit together somehow.

I think you can find some at a TRIM store—they’ve got everything from books to stationery—or maybe over at Metalia. Honestly, I’m not even sure if Metalia is still around, so I’ll have to dig around online and see what's actually left.
William Nguyen8 said:I found some cookie boxes for gifting. They're from a local wholesaler—super cheap... ($0.83 per 👍). They're just plain white, but I’m thinking about adding little bows to them to dress them up... Seems worth it, right?🙂
Now I just need to track down some serving trays...😢
My mom actually has those trays with the lids—and if I remember right, she even bought a bunch of them back in the day for a wedding in Chicago. I’ll ask her tomorrow where she picked them up, but if my memory serves me, you can probably find them at a Target or maybe a Walmart (we're originally from the Midwest)
Kimberly Kern2 said:The band goes by "Svirci." Honestly? They were absolute legends at those Midwest weddings I went to back in the day. They really know how to set a mood. But hey, don't just take my word for it—go ask around and see what everyone else thinks. I honestly have no clue when you’re actually pulling the trigger on the wedding, but trust me on this one—you need to get those reservations locked in way sooner rather than later. Look, just give it some serious thought. If you decide you actually want to go through with this, I'll see what I can do about tracking down that number for you. No pressure, just think it over.😉
I actually saw them play at a wedding once myself, and honestly, all I have is praise—even though that was probably four or five years ago. Who knows if the lineup has changed since then?🤷
I remember you saying it was going to be a total toss-up—now I finally get why... I honestly think orchids would look stunning on her, and besides the fact that she’s absolutely classy, she’d look incredible too.
feralmoose32 said:We’re going to have to aim for something along these lines—and honestly, that would be the absolute best-case scenario... I don't even want to dwell on what happens if things go sideways... if it turns out looking truly terrible, I'll just have to ask the photographer to blur her out 🤣
If they end up looking like this, it'll be awesome—I actually really dig this sketched-out look.
