Not at all. 🙂 First, I send letters that aren't strictly traditional correspondence; they are more like little extras included in various exchanges. Second, neither I nor my penpals are so frequent that I would ever feel burnt out. 😁
My current balance is perfect. 🙂 We will see how things evolve. I have already cut back my sending by 40% due to budget constraints.
And yes, a maximum of three stickers per letter! 😁
goldenhawk8 said:I definitely miscalculated things there. XD Anyway, regarding the Golden Gate Bridge, your description is spot on. 🙂
😂
So, we're just wandering aimlessly? Is there any way to go under the Bridge, hit the road leading to the embankment, and then take the path to the stairs?
I am not sure I follow... If I were traveling to Queens or somewhere similar... What I really want to know is if there is a route with less turbulence when going from The Chrysler Building up toward the Golden Gate Bridge.
By the way, I still haven't found the best way to cross the Golden Gate Bridge:
My current route is this: I start at The Chrysler Building, then head toward the area near the big green building and the inspection station. Once I reach the HG spot, I cross the street to the MTA station, turn left into the street away from the bridge, follow it through the intersection, and end up just 50 meters from the Mississippi where I lift my bike onto the bridge.
Is this how you all do it? I once tried going under the bridge—it was a nightmare because of the smell—and I tried to climb up, but I hit some stairs too early and had to backtrack. Since then, I have stuck to the route mentioned above.

😍 WOOHOO!! 😍 My first (and only, haha) compliment. I felt a bit more fit today. I believe it is because I have been climbing the Schlosser stairs up to Salat lately. 🙂
Donna Wells74 said:@ hiddenviper17 - No way! It takes me about 45 to 50 minutes to get to work, but I'm in no rush. Don't stress about it. I managed to outpace one woman, but everyone else leaves me in the dust. 😁
Was I that woman? 🙂 🤣
What's your route? How many miles?
No one even tried to talk to me at the stoplights. 😁 They probably just see how winded I am and realize I can barely breathe, let alone hold a conversation. 😂
I have some good news to share. It took me only 36 minutes to get from Mammoth Cave to the top of Frankopan Peak. 😁 Well done to me. 😁 (I know most of you would find that embarrassing, haha)
I even managed to outpace three female cyclists, though they did catch up to me at a red light.
I have shaved 5 to 6 minutes off my commute. 🙂 Now, my trip takes exactly 4.0 miles 40 minutes. I identified where I lose at least 5 minutes: obeying traffic lights. It turns out a crowd of drivers travels at roughly my speed, yet they blow through red lights and gain a massive advantage. Meanwhile, I wait patiently for the light to turn green.
To be more precise, I could reach my destination in about 30 minutes if I simply ignored the rules. 🙂

What matters more is whether you feel resistance, like pumping water from a well, or if it feels effortless, like spinning a sewing machine or a hula hoop. (My analogies might be thirty years out of date, but you get the idea 🙂). You should probably aim for around 50 RPM to start; if not, dial it back.
It is at speed 21. I will watch my RPM. 😁 However, I am fine with going slow—I would rather do that than deal with muscle cramps halfway through. 😁
I need to build up my stamina while the weather is still cool. 😍
Andrew Wells58 said:Is that on the long leg? 😉 If your knees are acting up, make sure you aren't spinning at too high a cadence.
Go ahead and keep joking around. 😁 I really need to see an orthopedist. My right leg just isn't feeling right lately. My ankle keeps popping constantly, like a plastic doll's leg, so I need to find out why. My knee has always been fine, though.
I have already started working on my sit-ups. I began at the lowest possible level, but I can now lift myself about two inches off the ground. 😁
I typically drive between 10th and 12th gear. My lowest point hits around 4 (most definitely), while my peak reaches about 17 when I'm heading down through the Mayo Clinic area—what a traffic jam!
The elbow joint remains quite resilient. It functions perfectly. hiddenviper17 says: The seat height should be high enough that your leg is completely straight when your heel is on the pedal at its lowest point. On a bike like this at these speeds, it isn't quite as critical, but just listen to Arash regarding avoiding excessive speeds. 🙂
I believe my leg is sufficiently extended, though I will attempt to increase the size slightly more.

It is just one knee bothering me. 😂
