I think I’m joining this club too! Since Tuesday, I have been struggling to function. The temperature hit 104 degrees, I have constant stomach issues, and my head and sinuses feel like they are about to explode. I feel slightly better as time passes, but I have a flight scheduled for tomorrow and I am unsure if I should go. I am worried about passing out on the plane.
I take the Ketoral Forte because I need immediate relief. There is also a sustained-release version of Ketoral, which apparently works more slowly by releasing into the system gradually over time. This Forte option can be taken every 10 or 12 hours. I haven't managed that schedule yet. During my chronic flare-ups—which will likely include tonight and tomorrow—the effects usually last about 8 hours maximum.
Maria Nguyen2, this thread is only seven pages long, and you still have at least twenty days left before the surge 🙂 so it would be great if you read through the experiences and struggles of this group 😁 Perhaps you will find something that suits your needs 🙂 I have written extensively several times to organize my own difficulties 🙂 Take a look 😉
One just finished right before me.🙂 It was surprisingly pleasant. Of course, I took my pills and all that, but there was very little pain. The only things I did differently (though I still can't quite pinpoint exactly what!) were: 1. I ate fresh figs (lots of them!). 2. I took 2 teaspoons twice a day ofSIPF - black currant root.
I had already realized that fasting a bit before and during my period helps avoid digestive issues, but this SIPF is mainly for circulation. It isn't cheap ($20), and you finish it quickly (probably in about 8 days), but if it worked, I will buy it every month!
I believe a certain percentage of pain can actually be managed through calmness (with effort!). Mentally accepting that this is just a passing process—that it isn't a disease or anything inherently bad—can help, or at least you can convince yourself of that. Some of us experience pain, while others don't. Some are luckier in that regard, some less so. Since you are still young, there is no need to rush back to work 🙂so stay home and lie down without any distractions. I used to deal with vomiting and intense pain myself. The vomiting has stopped, but the pain remains. Has it decreased? Probably not, but I can now distinguish between cramps caused by nerves or digestion and pure pain. I no longer suffer from those first two, simply because they are things you can actually influence.
I am unsure if this provides any actual relief but I have heard that women who deal with painful periods tend to handle pregnancy and labor better, since it just feels like another intense cycle to them🙂 Is that true, moms out there?
Meanwhile, those who haven't experienced these pains are often faced with that same hell for the first time right in the hospital room😁
It doesn't matter who he was targeting. If his intentions were good, we should consider it—though most of you are already just arguing for sport. If he just wanted to drop in, stir up trouble, and leave, I have no interest in debating someone like that.
My hands and feet are freezing—it’s hard to tell which is worse. They say it's just poor circulation. By the way, I've been taking two iron supplements a day for the last two months.
I just wanted to share some good news. I’ve started taking Vitamin C because I was dealing with some iron issues—they really work best as a pair. For the third day in a row, I haven't needed my usual medication during my period, and I'm completely pain-free. It turns out there are definitely ways to feel better without relying solely on pills. Some of the girls mentioned magnesium as an option, following their doctor's advice. It is much more effective to start those supplements ten days before your cycle begins rather than depending entirely on you. Keep up the great work!
One needs to bundle up because of the snow. Plus, it’s better for the mental health. Personally, I would lose my mind just lying in bed all day—I’d probably end up pacing around the room too... but you always have to find an activity. 😁 I found mine in movies. Some people find it in books, others in endless phone calls, some in sleeping... ultimately, it will pass! That is what keeps me going.
