Review Writing Tips & Advice in Movies ·
If we’re talking strictly about reviews, then there's no need for a rating. The only twist here is that the guy is looking for subjective takes with scores—basically critiques, whatever those may be—rather than just straight reviews. You're acting way too high and mighty for someone so small... 🙂

Ratings are just part of the critique, not the review itself🙂

didn't see a thread for this, mods might need to step in if this gets out of hand

seems like everyone I know has their own specific way of sourcing movies, so I'm curious... what's your go-to method?🤷

Haven't seen this one yet. OP is borderline off-topic🤣

I went through a similar change myself. I used to be ivtau22, now I'm just Jerry Martin19. You can expect your request to go through... as long as the shift isn't too drastic 😉
Batman

Tim Burton's Batman from '89 was basically the first real feature-length adaptation of that dark comic book hero from Gotham City. Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, finding an outlet by hiding his darker side behind a bat suit while cleaning up the streets of Gotham. With Michael Keaton playing Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jack Nicholson delivered a massive, unforgettable performance. Nobody forgets that charming, heavy-set, twisted clown who stirs up chaos in Gotham with pure sarcasm, backed by Jack Nicholson's talent—which easily outshines Bowie, Woods, or DAFA...

I still remember back in the late 90s how often they'd air Batman on CNN, and I don't recall ever wanting to miss it. It’d be a shock if they didn't run it at least five times a year (maybe the tapes just kept breaking or something). For me, and honestly for a lot of people in my generation, Batman was priceless. Tim Burton's gothic sensibility is baked into pretty much all his movies, especially this one. The darkness, the isolation of the lead, those foggy Gotham streets, the full moon... Burton really found himself in all those details. He dived deep into the world of Batman and his surroundings, dropping viewers right into a gothic nightmare. It’s some of the best stuff Burton has ever given us, and we should probably be grateful for it. I know I am. Batman is a legitimate, unforgettable classic.

Honestly, Teens is more serious than LDS... 😉

Man, the LDS is just a joke for Teens 😉

When you actually count them up, there are maybe 10 sane people on this whole site, and four of them are moderators... 🙂

Forget those lists and all that nonsense. All I've learned from them is that you should stay far away because they're nothing but a headache 😉

Amanda Lopez50 said:...so you're judging solely based on The man without a past? Check out Squid Union, La Vie de Boheme, or I Hired a Contract Killer if you haven't already—maybe his specific sense of humor will click better for you 🙂 though maybe not...

I'll watch more, but I've seen some of his shorts and "got" his perspective. Honestly? Not feeling it. He needs to dial back the pretension just a little...

aha. so that's how it works...

Kaurismäki is basically a joke... 🙂

p.s. nice touch bringing up Amenábar

p.s.2 they kept throwing out Antonioni's name but didn't mention Blow-Up anywhere...

If you actually take a closer look, this list is pretty hollow 🙂

At least throw in one Roman Polanski movie, and even Miloš Forman (if we aren't strictly sticking to domestic films)...

I’d probably throw in Almodóvar's All Cats Are Killers from '97. Maybe even swap out With Her if possible.

Not a single Kitanov or Abbas Kiarostami in sight...

p.s. I see there's no Hero either, clearly Godard and the gang are just too highbrow for this list🙄

p.s.2 yeah, no sign of Aki Kaurismäki either ☕
William Lewis said:Star Wars (prequels) - Revenge of the Jedi is my favorite part (yeah, yeah, I know the fans will absolutely tear me apart, but that final duel and the transformation into Darth Vader are easily the best parts of the hexalogy).

I could mostly agree. It’s not my #1, but it’s definitely up there with IV and V...😉

Just log out and leave the username and password fields blank instead of using the "remember me" option 😉

There's also an option in Chrome if you're using it: Tools -> Clear Private Data (Ctrl + Shift + del) and check "Saved Passwords," then Clear Private data Now

Man, you're totally misreading me. I wasn't trying to claim the server was actually fine on Mozilla (it's not), I was just pointing out how much better Mozilla handles other stuff compared to Internet Explorer...

That’s my move. Most efficient way once the multi-quote actually works, but unfortunately it’s broken right now...👍
