I usually just skim through them while I'm sipping my morning coffee, maybe glancing at the paper or scrolling through some news sites if something catches my eye. I rarely go out of my way to hunt down film reviews—and honestly, I’m right there with Joseph Lee3 on that one; I really only look for them if I need a bit more background info before deciding on a movie.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about critical consensus, and I certainly don't bother memorizing the names of critics. Whether I decide to see a film or skip it entirely depends entirely on my own mood and whether I actually feel like watching something, rather than whether some reviewer handed it a five-star rating. ☕

First off, I have to give credit to Americans for putting in the effort, but honestly, I’m still waiting to see a single Hollywood historical blockbuster that is actually historically accurate... 😉

Now, some people would probably argue, "Well, we don't watch movies for historical truth, we watch them for..." (fill in whatever reason you have for watching movies), and they wouldn't be wrong...
But even so, certain films are just so incredibly irritating in how they twist history and lean into that heavy "Americanization" that even a viewer who excelled in history class might find themselves rolling their eyes and muttering, "Yeah... sure..." 😁

I can't help but wonder why things like Troy or King Arthur aren't on this list, or why we shouldn't mention Alexander or the fact that about 99% of American war movies fall into this category... 🤣

When it comes to leaving those out while including something like '2001: A Space Odyssey,' my only conclusion is: "😕 You guys are joking, right? 😁"

On a different note, regarding '300,' wasn't that movie based on Miller's comic book (cough... graphic novel, if we're being technical)? As such, it follows the plot of the source material faithfully, rather than trying to follow historical facts...
Of course, nobody actually believes the Spartans were wandering around in nothing but loincloths and other ridiculous caricatures, but I suppose it was just easier for Miller to draw them that way for the sake of contrast, color, or separating the characters from the background... or whatever...
My point is, if that's how it went down in the... graphic novel, and the movie was made exclusively based on that, then I don't really see it as a distortion of the facts at all... 🤷

Hehe, so, have you guys just never seen 'The Last Man on Earth'? Or maybe 'The Omega Man'? Or perhaps you haven't even picked up the novel that those three movies were more or less based on? 😁

Seriously though, people... even if I personally don't mind spoilers, please try to show a little more empathy toward those who do. It really isn't that much trouble to change your font color, and I promise ten people aren't going to follow you around just because you ruined a movie for them.
(And besides that, those white letters are honestly the best; I always find myself squinting to see what's hiding 😁 )

Oh, and one little tip: when you're quoting someone who uses spoiler-white text, just be careful, because white definitely doesn't stay invisible against a blue background 😉
(I truly can't wrap my head around why so many people think that 😬)

Just leave the 'reason for editing' field blank (you don't actually have to fill it out just to update your post)

I was just walking. There were plenty of people around. For some reason, I closed my eyes. Even then, I could still see everything happening. I’d open them—everything looked normal. I’d close them again—same thing (not exactly identical, but it proved I wasn't hallucinating; everything I saw with my eyes open, I saw with them shut too).
At one point, I felt myself leaving my body. It was like drifting up, maybe three or four feet off the ground, just hovering there. I could see myself and everything happening around my physical body. The world looked a little different than how I see it now, and I just *knew* everything happening in the physical world without anyone telling me. I could feel if someone was scared, or happy... I could feel everything. No one had to say a word.
It's really hard to find the right words for what I went through. If anyone else has had an experience like this, maybe you can help me explain what it felt like...

Though, I suppose I couldn't offer any explanation other than my own subjective view (but then again, I have this strange, intuitive certainty that I know)...

I wonder why I’m always the black sheep of the family🙂 😬
