What do we think about Franz Ferdinand? in Music ·

Coming from someone who’s clearly head over heels for yet another Ian and refuses to take off their Joy Division shirt. 😁

One word: Coachella.

You realize that now that you've leaked this rumor, you basically have a target on your back. 🙄

Incredible? It was freaking legendary!😍

Just another brilliant record born from the genius of a thirteen-track masterpiece🙂. Pure magic!
Black Dog, Rock and Roll, and Heartbreaker. 😁

How cool are mustaches? in Miscellaneous ·
Mustaches are the ultimate look! I’m a huge fan. They have this romantic vibe to them. But they’ve got to be well-groomed—no messy, scruffy business allowed here... 😁

Man! 😍 album, definitely, this week 😁.

Anyway, that reminded me I need to fix my badge.

What is it with everyone getting so worked up over a little bit of sarcasm? 😁... okay, maybe I missed a smiley face, but seriously people.... 😁 ... it's called I-R-O-N-Y, and it actually aligns perfectly with what Frank Harrigan pointed out above... honestly, seeing Robert Cooper41's list and then Codyjev's really got me thinking. If only I could strip some of this stuff out. He he. Ho ho.

(For the record, I absolutely love Liars... that album is legendary.)

You guys listed all of them—honestly, having a list longer than ten titles for a single year feels vague and a bit much to me. You should make lists of GREAT albums, not just everything remotely interesting you happened to hear this year, but whatever... I’d really highlight the one album that absolutely floored me this year: Liars and They Were Wrong So We Drowned. Absolutely perfect.

Jason Rogers, man, don't listen to them. They're just being jerks 😁

Anyway, peace out. All this anger over nothing? It’s pathetic... you guys look ridiculous.

😁 😁

You know what the funniest part is? It's totally obvious you got triggered by something and now you're trying to play it off like you were just trolling us. Lame, dude.

Or, as I like to put it, you would have been a legendary troll, but unfortunately, I've met you and I know you're actually being dead serious.

Now, regarding this latest post where you actually seem to have put some thought into it... once I strip away all that self-importance you pack into your posts...

I still don't agree with most of it (Grunge definitely beats Nu-Metal; if that guy from Korn dropped dead right now, he still wouldn't earn the respect of anyone over 18, because one real rock band CAN change everything... ) though I do agree with a few points (that Beatles comparison was a reach, and someone really needs to start writing songs for Madonna.)

And hey, if that's the best you can do, I still think you're an idiot.

Forget about the grind. I'm done with it. 😳 😉 😁

boldscout72 said:It’s not that he refuses to give to people; he just doesn't have the cash. That's the bottom line. There isn't another Soros around to bankroll a new Nomad.

Look, the internet is the perfect, dirt-cheap medium... it's right there for anyone interested in this kind of scene... yet, still nothing. (And yeah, we're back to talking about the state of the economy... but I don't think that's the root cause here.)

I'm going to go cook. 👋
The underground scene in America in Music ·
I honestly wish I could draw a parallel between all this and that whole situation from a few years back with Galaxy and Nomad... but I just can't bring myself to do it. (Though, if I recall correctly, the Galaxy crew hasn't even played a show outside of places like Indianapolis or Washington, D.C. 🙄 )

Goddamn you, boldscout72, you have to get everything in before me!!

Anyway, I think building a scene requires something specific. You see it perfectly with the current local indie wave: a handful of people who might lack raw musical talent but have massive amounts of enthusiasm. They end up carving out their own niche by creating or managing some kind of media outlet to cover the movement... but it feels like nobody actually wants to put in that work 😢

Basically, they're just posers.

edit:Instead of starting a whole new thread, I'll just add to what was said above—that idea about how nobody would bother going to see or listen to bands in Miami or Columbus... that's just not true. Miami is so starved for any kind of decent event that if I showed up solo with a Melodica, slapped three posters in the right spots, and spread the word to the right people, I think a decent crowd would actually show up 😁.... plus, there are plenty of bands in Miami you could actually jam with 🤣 yeah.

You forgot to include the best part!!!

...Come grab them and open them up! There's something for everyone. Your Santa Claus and Grandma Courtney love you!!!
