It’s just funny—and maybe a bit too timely—how this message from Seattle arrives right as everyone is heading back to their small town in rural America...

I wouldn't mind if you sent me one too—if it's not a bother.

On a different note, I was actually wondering if anyone has any solid comedy recommendations? For the past year, I've been stuck in a loop of nothing but horror, heavy dramas, and intense thrillers. It feels like an absolute eternity since I last sat down to enjoy a genuinely good comedy.
What more could you want?
And there really aren't many great comedies out there. I thought this one was pretty good, though you might have already seen it:

If you've got nothing else, go with Emma Stone and J. Moore—it's hard to miss with them.
Will there be any topics regarding the Cop?

The gap in quality is huge here. It’s a head-to-head matchup on Juve's side. Does anyone know if people actually call Chievo a feeder club for Juve? I know there's some talk about that—I think it might be specifically regarding Chievo.
Chievo actually has four Inter players there on loan right now. 😉
I'll probably give it a listen later. I have a feeling Dante might drop some of this into a future episode...
granitepuma, the new Jonathan Pictures release came out today—there's a link over on their Facebook page. 🙂 And next Monday, they're playing the entire first album.
I think they're great. That first album should be dropping any day now, I guess.🙂

Jonathan Pictures
An American band made up of former and current members of Mandrill, mlat, Salion, pas, and let 3.
graniteeagle41 said:Why would I bother writing about some random band on some website right now? I can just leave my own comment—that works fine. I guess the whole point for a band is to get promoted and actually make something of themselves. Look, man, if you know how to secure some cash for a gig, then you should probably know how to push yourself out there, too.
If only it were that simple. In reality, it’s almost impossible nowadays for an "alternative" indie band to get enough exposure to actually break through to the mainstream.
graniteeagle41 said:Everyone wants everything overnight these days. It’s not like before—you know, where people would just say, "Who cares, it's the weekend, let's play for a couple of beers"—and maybe someone would hear you and invest. That doesn't exist anymore. There's no more dying for rock and roll.😁
That's not true, though... a good chunk of underground bands still operate on that exact principle.🤷
graniteeagle41 said:To achieve anything, you have to sink massive amounts of money into it, and then, after all the musicians' hard work and suffering, something might happen. Until then, nothing.
Nobody wants to invest money in that kind of music because it doesn't catch on with the general public. And the people who might actually want to invest... well, they don't have the capital to do it.
graniteeagle41 said:Listing all those old bands feels kind of pointless—we've all heard them before, and honestly, there isn't much left to say about them. But as for anything new? Not really. As far as I know, 😁
I actually posted a few links to some "new" artists in response to your earlier question, but apparently, that wasn't allowed—the moderators wiped them out. I'm not quite sure why the links in your post were left up then, but whatever.
The American underground scene is probably stronger than it’s ever been right now. There are tons of incredible, promising bands out there that—unfortunately—hardly anyone knows about, let alone people who actually listen to this kind of music, much less reaching a mainstream audience. It isn't easy to "get noticed" when you don't have anyone pushing you forward. Most record labels today are basically a joke... they don't see the profit in this kind of music, so most of these bands have just turned to the DIY route... you put an album up for free download and just hope for the best—that someone might notice and recognize that what you're doing actually carries some weight.
That's why any help from places like this Metal/Rock Portal is always welcome... the "masses" still aren't going to "discover" these bands, but maybe it reaches a few more people who actually care about this genre. It certainly can't hurt. It would be great if more radio stations started paying attention to the underground scene, instead of just spinning the same old stuff and those so-called hits because they're afraid to try something new and lose listeners or miss out on revenue. Personally, I only know of NPR and a couple of indie stations that play lesser-known bands, but I assume there are other small stations like that out there.
Regarding that last point, I've never really dabbled in music journalism—mostly because I doubt I could write a review quite as high-quality as 😁—but I do love "discovering" new, obscure American bands... there's no better feeling than hearing one of them a few years later guesting on a major mainstream station, getting played on MTV, or seeing them get a two-page spread in a major daily paper (anywhere they can reach a wider crowd). It's great to see that people have finally broken through and that what they're doing might actually reach a massive audience—way bigger than what you could have imagined back when you first downloaded their debut album from YouTube or Bandcamp...
Silente (though it's hard to define their genre, let's call them pop-rock) is a good example of a band that broke through pretty fast—it wasn't DIY this time, since they're on a label, so I guess that path isn't totally lost either. Around this time last year, they dropped their first single on YouTube; absolutely nobody knew who they were, and now, from what I can see, they're being played everywhere, even on mainstream radio.
Thankfully, other quality bands (or singer-songwriters) are reaching that level too, and thank God we have names like Machine, Genoa, Storage, all the way from Port Mort, Seven Mouldy Figs, and Sara Renar...
Total privatization nonsense 🤣
brava Lalic. I guess everything will be cleared up at the press conference before the game starts.

I actually thought it was to the right from my angle 😁
Now I see it's Cvrk—didn't recognize him at first.
Once again Lalic is making moves and they're trying to shut him down fast.
They caught up with him pretty fast 🤮

The state of American sports—the bosses, the syndicates, the privatization issues.
Stay tuned with us starting at nine.😁
Who is that total clown all the way on the right?
It just started five minutes ago, but honestly, this show looks like a complete train wreck.
Things are heating up now.
Eric Fox7 said:I was actually thinking about how they seem to be in decent shape—it’s just a question of whether they can hold onto that energy through Tuesday for their cup match against Troyes. Since they aren't really going anywhere in the league standings—not moving up, not dropping down—that cup run might be their only shot at European competition next season.
Here is what the coach had to say:
The visitors don't have much left to fight for in the league, so their focus has shifted entirely to the cup, where they face Troyes in the semifinals this Tuesday. Coach Gillot, who usually loves to rotate his roster heavily, actually surprised everyone with his latest comments:
- We might rest one or two players, but we aren't going overboard. Resting them doesn't guarantee we'll play better on Tuesday; it's probably smarter to maintain our rhythm. Besides, we have an extra day of rest compared to Troyes!
Can I just change it to:
Nicole Garcia3
The current one reminds me of a team I don't even support—honestly, I have no idea why I picked it when I signed up. I guess it was just the first thing that popped into my head.😕
It won't work, though. That nickname is already taken.
