Sleep paralysis experiences in Health ·
It’s happened to me maybe four or five times now—and honestly, looking back, I was always completely exhausted when it hit. I was basically forcing myself to stay awake, either staring at the TV or grinding away on my laptop.
It’s a pretty nasty feeling, mostly just total helplessness.
Skin Depigmentation / Vitiligo Help in Health ·
Based on the description, it sounds like vitiligo.

Here’s a thread discussing it:
Training Day (2010) in Movies ·
Great movie!
It’s definitely a different vibe than the first one—way more brutal.
Honestly, they just need to take out all the scum. Go Nascimento!!!! 😁

magnesium, magnesium, and more magnesium.

You really think my shins aching in the exact same spot all the time is just a magnesium deficiency?
No other muscle hurts—never had a cramp or anything in my life.

I guess I can try it. Might help, might not.
Got any specific brands or tablets you'd recommend?
It’s like I wrote it myself. I’ve been running for about 6 or 7 months now—mostly on a local high school track—and my shins always hurt. I run every 2 or 3 days at a steady, easy pace, around a 9:40 mile or so 3.7 miles most of the time.
I’ve done my homework on this, even went to get custom orthotics made, but nothing actually helped. Recently, I tried hitting the pavement for a few runs, and the pain in my shins was way worse.
I’ve taken a break for about 20 days, and once I get back into it, I’m going to try running on grass at a local park to see if that's easier on my legs than the track was.
Cycling isn't really an option for me—too boring—and honestly, nothing beats the feeling of a good run.
If I wanted to avoid the pain entirely, I guess I’d just have to run every single day.
Plasma Donation in Health ·
Stumbled onto this thread by accident.
A buddy of mine donated plasma once, and within two or three months, he’d dropped about 10 pounds of muscle mass. He told me he's never doing it again.
I don't know much about the science behind it—just saying what I saw.
Quiz: Which Disney Villain Are You? in Movies ·

You're Ursula from The Little Mermaid! You’ve basically mastered the art of the double-cross. You play the part of the sympathetic, kind soul just long enough to get close—then you twist the knife. Look, just because someone banned you from the club doesn't give you a free pass to target their lovesick teenage daughter. You also spend way too much time living in the past, dwelling on "the good old days"—it's clear you just can't handle change.

So, you're dealing with the same symptoms as me?
I already went in for an EKG—that was my first step—and they noted a rapid heart rate. I can't remember the exact reading right now, but I'll check my notes and get back to you. Honestly, though, my pulse spikes whenever things get stressful. It's just how I react to pressure.
The cardiologist ran an ultrasound and said everything looks fine with my heart.
I'm 22, by the way.
Hey there. Just stumbled upon this thread and noticed some symptoms that sound pretty similar to what I’m dealing with.
For about 2 or 3 years now, I’ve had this daily sensation—a sort of tightness around my heart. It’s hard to put into words; it feels like a weight combined with this weird tickling sensation. On top of that, I have this persistent cough almost every day—sometimes mild, sometimes more intense. I’ve gone through the whole ringer: blood work, echocardiogram, chest RTG, spirometry, and even an endoscopy (you know, swallowing the pill and getting imaged while lying down). Most recently, I had my thyroid checked via blood tests. I spoke with my doctor—a major specialist at the Mayo Clinic—and he basically told me it's all in my head. My cardiologist said the same thing. Apparently, I’m just the type of person who internalizes everything and stays overly sensitive, and they think that's the root of it.
Looking back objectively, he might be right. When I start dwelling on life's problems, the feeling gets worse—and if I'm stuck in a stressful situation, the coughing flares up immediately.
I don't smoke, I don't drink, I hit the gym a few times a week, and I watch my diet.
Not sure if I'm in the right place, but maybe this helps someone out a little.
How to gain weight? in Health ·
About 9 or 10 months ago, I was sitting at 130 lbs at 5'8". I decided right then—I need to pack on some weight, and that was that. I started eating 4 or 5 times a day—nothing greasy, just consistent. A bowl of Corn Flakes in the morning, maybe some eggs or a turkey deli sandwich before lunch. Lunch was whatever was cooked at home, a little snack before dinner, and then dinner itself.
On top of the food, I was working out—just stuff at home, some light weights, crunches... about 40 minutes every other day. After 4 or 5 months of that routine, I’d filled out nicely (hit 145 lbs) and felt stronger. I’m still holding steady at that weight now by sticking to those 4 meals a day. That's it. 🙂It's simple math: if you want to gain weight, you have to increase your calorie intake.

Who knows what else will kill us at this rate!! 😁

So I'll just mix the tuna with some sardines.
Easy for you to say—it’s all going downhill anyway. If we actually listened to these scientists, we wouldn't be able to eat anything at all.😬
Tuna and what's inside it in Health ·
So, I’ve recently started eating canned tuna pretty regularly—around 300-400g a week. Then I start digging around online and realize I probably shouldn't be exceeding 150g weekly given my weight (65kg) because of the mercury levels😠 (it feels like there's always some new health scare to freak you out about😠). Honestly, it hit me a little hard😲
Meanwhile, something like anchovies has almost negligible amounts of mercury🙂
Questions about water in Health ·
If anyone caught the news on ABC today, they were telling everyone this
(that all those filters are just a waste of cash since there’s zero difference—they even claimed that filtered water could be microbiologically worse than what comes straight out of your tap)
I stick to tap water exclusively, though if I'm out in the city, I might grab a bottle of something.

Oily hair struggles in Health ·
Mine is the exact same way. A total disaster.
I wash it about every other day—though honestly, I probably should be doing it daily, but I refuse to give in out of pure spite.😬
In my opinion, there isn't much anyone can really do to fix it.
