Frank Moore4 said:You're thinking of Riley.Busey...or go full "Gestapo." 😁 Neil Patrick Harris It’s pretty much impossible to watch a Harold and Kumar film now without noticing that certain element—it's become such an essential part of the DNA of those movies. 😁 )?
By the way, I always felt like Clancy Brown was the absolute authority when he played Sergeant Zim. 😁
Frank Moore4 said:Sure, in the book they make it sound like "nukes" can be taken out by Rambo using standard bullets. 😁
Frank Moore4 said:Yeah, but if I recall correctly, the book leans into that much more aggressively. 😁
Frank Moore4 said:That’s probably a plasma spike.
Frank Moore4 said:Yeah, they do, plus you've got those orbital drop suits where soldiers just leap from orbit straight onto the planet surface, like they mentioned in that Heinlein book. It’s a shame they don't carry handheld nuclear gear like in the novel. 😁
Anthony Smith3 said:I just can't... based on the trailer alone, this looks cheap and low-budget, which wasn't the case with the second one. Even with a smaller budget, the sequel looked surprisingly good visually. It’s basically a movie like "Assault on Precinct 13," where you have a group of people—in this case, soldiers—trapped in a single building having to defend themselves against bugs. Plus, they threw in that creepy surprise element because we have these new bugs that can actually hijack and control human bodies... making you wonder who's already been infected. Look, it's a fine flick if you watch it within its own lane as a B-movie... it definitely stands out from most other B-movies... even if you can't really compare it to the original. On the flip side, the trailer for the third one makes it look like straight-up C-movie territory. Everything feels cheap and static... I don't know... I'm not holding my breath here.

Joshua Doyle192 said:The first movie was great, the second was a bit of a letdown—mostly because that opening chase scene looked so fake due to cheap special effects—but the third one was a complete disaster. Why? For the exact same reason as the start of the second one... except instead of an opening chase in the States, everything just looks artificial. As someone who actually loves cars and racing, that stuff just doesn't work for me. Then there’s the dialogue, which is just plain stupid. Look, I get it, a movie like this doesn't need deep philosophical discussions, but here they tried way too hard to make it happen, and it feels totally forced. The acting is an absolute train wreck (honestly, *Step Up 2* has Oscar-worthy performances compared to this)... this movie has zero quality, even in the parts where it's supposed to have actual substance.
If they shoot a fourth one with the original crew, it’ll be way better since those actors actually have some credibility.
Regarding what someone mentioned about where they got those cars and garages from... this takes place in Japan or America. People have money. It’s just like how some 18-year-olds in the US have a BMW ready to go thanks to their dads.
neonfox16 said:Ah, my apologies then. I didn't recall Vin Diesel—meaning Dom—mentioning that he and Han had known each other for a long time. It slipped my mind...
neonfox16 said:I’ve seen all three films multiple times, and honestly, they’re more than just good. At least for me... but I feel like they overcomplicated things with this fourth installment. If what briskbison41 is saying is true—that this is actually a sequel to the first movie—then it feels pointless. The fourth part has absolutely nothing to do with Tokyo Drift. And then there’s Sung Kang, playing Hal... as far as I recall, he died in a car crash during Tokyo Drift. Unless he’s playing some entirely different character now. Or maybe he just rose from the dead for this sequel... They really should have realized this and filmed the follow-up much sooner. Regardless, I’ll see how it turns out. Vin Diesel is back, so it’s worth a watch anyway. I guess we'll see...
