I still can't stand him 🙂
Oh, you caught me in my own trap 😁
It also reminded me of something else that's been bothering me lately—it isn't directly related to the topic, but it's worth mentioning anyway. It's this complete Americanization of our speech. And I don't mean slang or casual banter; I mean formal language, especially what you hear on TV.
Why does it always have to be "make up" instead of makeup? "Stage" instead of stage? "Friend" instead of friend? I get that some things just don't translate perfectly, but when I'm watching an American news network like ABC and I hear something like, "In our next celebrity report, we'll see makeup artists preparing stars for their appearance on stage," it makes my skin crawl.
And one more thing—this unnecessary obsession with using the "&" symbol (and). For instance, in a segment on CNN or the New York Times called Home & Garden -> Home and Garden. It's just nonsense. We have the word "and" for a reason. I see that "&" everywhere lately, and honestly, it's driving me absolutely insane.
There’s hope! 🥳 *starts flipping through catalogs for new underwear* 😂
Now you're talking! 🙂
Stone Temple Pilots are the absolute best 🙂 ever
Yeah 🙂 The kicker is, I didn't even realize until after watching that episode that it was based on this movie. The film is pure garbage 🙂
And when to be beautiful to be 😍 things will look up for us... just you wait.....
Wait, am I seeing this right... One, two, three... Multifaceted and five-fold? 😁 God, this irresistible charm of mine... what is it doing to a girl who absolutely hates anything multifaceted 🙂
driftingbear29 said:So, fine, if I’m just posting here and there on the forum, I guess we’ll barely cross paths anyway 😬 😬 😬
I honestly don't know anymore. Now you’ve gone and become one of those Stone Temple Pilots fans too? They aren't even all that special to me—you're going to have to try a hell of a lot harder if you actually want to get me into bed 😁
At least I recognized that quote from human CentiPad in your signature immediately 😉 👍
So, I suppose I'll forgive the purple letters. I'll admit, I was starting to get used to them, I guess 🙂
Michelle Collins74 said:haven't you noticed this new trend yet? splitting up words like 🙂 'they're gonna' 'he is singin'' 'she is buyin'' honestly, I just don't get it. I'm clearly too dim to grasp the logic here. there's something about those spaces that bugs me; I have never, and will never, write 'don't' as two separate words 😁
Yeah, I notice it all the time. I guess I'm just a total grammar Nazi, what can I say? 🤷
Mislm, I get that people tend to slack off on mechanics when they're typing online, but still—whenever I see someone write "they gonna" or misspell basic words, it just screams "uneducated." It immediately kills the weight of whatever point they're trying to make in their post.
Honestly, if I see someone using "w" instead of "v," I just stop reading immediately. It’s like my brain automatically flags them as a six-year-old, and frankly, I have zero interest in debating anyone at that developmental level.
The same goes for posters who clearly skipped punctuation class. It makes their posts completely unreadable, and I usually just skip over them because trying to decipher them is exhausting. One massive wall of text without a single period or comma? No thanks. It says everything you need to know about the author. I really don't care what someone has to say if they haven't mastered the basics taught in third or fourth grade.
@Depeche Extreme — I have to admit, even your font color is an absolute eyesore.🙂
Maybe I’m being a bit too critical, but that’s just how I feel about it.
As for the actual topic, I don't get overly worked up about being too multifaceted. Sometimes there's a legitimate reason for it, and even if someone is overdoing it, it’s nowhere near as irritating to me as seeing a complete lack of punctuation.
I haven't been keeping a close eye on the price tags lately, but if there's one thing I need to tell you, it's this: pay serious attention to the cost of the cartridges—specifically the ink.
Look, you can find some decent printers for around $67, but then you turn around and find out a single color cartridge costs $150. Also, make sure you check whether the black ink is housed in its own separate cartridge (it usually is, but don't be naive about it). Black is what you'll burn through most often, and it’s incredibly frustrating to be forced into buying an entire multi-color unit just because you ran out of black. It's ridiculous to end up printing plain text in red just because the black tank is empty.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads-up on those ink prices. I'm sure the other folks on here who actually track these market fluctuations will be able to point you toward a better model.
I’m not entirely sure I follow your logic here, but if a cell contains a formula—say, a SUM function—it’s going to update itself automatically whenever you change any of the numbers being referenced. If you want that number to stay frozen, you might consider adding an extra cell where you manually type in the value, or just use the "copy, then paste values" trick. That way, the cell stays locked at that specific amount regardless of what happens elsewhere.
Another thought: maybe try setting up two separate tables, one for the first shift and one for the second. Then, you can have a final cell that calculates the sum of both totals, giving you the grand total for the day at a glance.
Or, honestly, just send me the spreadsheet so I can take a look at it myself. 😉
Bradley Nelson2 said:Can someone explain why White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen dropped at basically the same time? They’re practically the same movie.🤷
Just because that topic happens to be "in" right now. 😁 Read : bring money.
And it’s not even because it lacks realism. Look, if you're watching an action blockbuster about an attack on the White House, you expect things to be over-the-top—I don't even know what else to tell you. That’s just the genre.
But there are two specific things that were absolute disasters for me.
1. That cheap, forced sentimentality masquerading as American patriotism (and listen, Rambo was a patriot, so you can talk about that stuff without feeling nauseous). That final speech from the President was the absolute peak of cringe for me. 2. That tired, thousand-times-seen trope where a group of people sits in a conference room (or any other room, really) just waiting to see if one single hero is going to save the world. Whether it’s a disaster flick, an action movie, or sci-fi... I am genuinely sick of it. When that scene started playing, I actually felt like turning it off. It’s the same thing for the millionth time; for heaven's sake, come up with something even slightly original.
I was just sitting here thinking about this one movie that I honestly consider a masterpiece, yet it feels like almost nobody ever talks about it. It’s one of those hidden gems that really sticks with you.
The Ledge
Don't go confusing him with the Man on the Ledge.
This was an absolutely stellar piece of drama. It manages to be incredibly tense from start to finish, which is no small feat given how small the cast is. Every single one of them delivers a masterclass performance. You’ve got Charlie Hunnam, Terrence Howard, and Liv Tyler all turning in top-tier work here. Honestly, even with such a limited number of characters on screen, the weight of the acting carries the entire thing. Look, I’m going to drop a recommendation here because I feel like people need to see this. It’s a fresh, striking piece of cinema that really hits home. It isn't just some mindless blockbuster; it actually digs deep into the complexities of love and—more importantly—the nature of faith. It’s one of those films that stays with you long after the credits roll.
hollowmaker11 said:Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
So, I'm putting together this spreadsheet for work, and what I really need is for the sheet to react automatically. If I type a "1" into a specific cell, I want another cell to show $3.25,
But then, if I change that same cell to a "2", I want it to display a different amount, like $3.75, and
if I put in a "3", it should show something like $4.00.
If anyone knows the best way to handle this, I would be soooooo incredibly grateful..
Does that second cell always just increase by 9? Or were those numbers you used just random examples? If it’s the first case—where there's a consistent mathematical pattern—then you can just pop this formula into that second cell: Code:
=A1+9
Just make sure A1 is actually the address of your input cell (obviously, if yours is located somewhere else, use that address instead).
Now, if it isn't a simple matter of adding 9, and you have a bunch of different specific values you're trying to trigger, you could use nested IF functions. But let's be real—if you have a massive list of possibilities (I'm talking hundreds), nesting IF statements becomes a total nightmare. In my experience, when things get complicated like that, it's much cleaner to just use a Macro. Personally, I find Macros to be the easiest way to handle anything remotely complex. 🙂
Look, I’ve never been much of an action movie person to begin with, so maybe my perspective isn't the gold standard here, but if we're being objective—this was a total 3/10 for me.
Douglas Barrett76 said:I am just thrilled to see such an outpouring of positive feedback—Kate truly deserves every bit of it!😍 Has anyone caught her in Carnage? It's a Roman Polanski film—written and directed by him—and features Jodie Foster!
I actually worked on the translation for that film, and I sat through the whole thing myself. 😁 It was a great movie. Honestly, Kate was incredible, but the entire cast absolutely knocked it out of the park. It’s actually wild to me how a film set entirely within the confines of a single room can be that gripping. I mean, just look at *12 Angry Men*—that's the gold standard for how to pull off that kind of tension.
By the way, I find her to be far too mature for my taste. Personally, I’ve always had a preference for women who embrace a more natural look—plus, if they actually have some brains to back it up, that’s just a winning combination in my book.
goldenskipper72 said:Thanks, thanks, thanks... watching it tonight.
Go ahead, let me know what you think once you've seen it. Everyone's got different tastes, obviously, but if you find it even half as decent as I did, then you haven't wasted two hours of your life for nothing.🙂
In my book, this ranks up there with the absolute best horror films out there. It’s grounded, it feels real, and the atmosphere is just spot on. It isn't some typical, low-effort piece of American trash you see churned out every weekend.
I actually went into this completely blind—didn't know a single thing about it—which is honestly how I prefer to watch movies. No spoilers, no hype, nothing. Because when people start slapping labels like "masterpiece" or "absolute perfection" on a film, they set these massive expectations in my head, and usually, I end up disappointed. But this? This one actually blew me away.
So, if you're planning on checking it out, do yourself a favor: stop reading reviews, stay away from the trailers, and just sit down and watch it. 😉
A completely different topic just triggered a memory of this movie:
Shrink
Kevin Spacey plays a psychiatrist who caters specifically to Hollywood stars. Dealing with an endless stream of sheer stupidity from his clients every single day—not to mention his own personal baggage—he manages the stress by smoking about 50 joints a day. It's his coping mechanism, plain and simple.
It’s an excellent film. I’d classify it more as a drama, and honestly, Kevin Spacey is phenomenal here. In my opinion, it's easily one of his best performances.
Honestly, I found the movie to be an absolute train wreck, even if the core concept had potential.
The idea of playing with irony—or let's call it what it really was, a failed parody of the iconic roles those actors are known for—was clever enough on paper, but the execution was nonexistent.
By the end of it, the whole thing just devolves into three old guys running around trying way too hard to act like they’re still in their twenties. In reality, they just come across as pathetic and ridiculous.
Alex Barnes4 said:Yeah, sure, that’s easy enough, but my actual question was how to calculate that sum without having to stretch out column "c"—basically, I just want the total to show up in one single cell and nothing else.
Look, I went ahead and whipped up a little Macro for you, just because it’s easier for me to explain it this way. 🙂 First, go ahead and enable the Developer Tab (File -> Customize ribbon -> Main Tabs -> check the Developer tab)
On the Developer Tab, go to Insert -> button and draw yourself a button on the sheet. When the window pops up asking about a macro, just click New and paste this code right between the Sub and end Sub lines:
Dim counter As Integer For counter = 1 To 10 If (Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(counter, 1).Value > Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(counter, 2).Value) Then Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(1, 3).Value = Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(1, 3).Value + 1 End If Next counter
Once you click that button, it’ll perform exactly what you’re looking for. If you need to run it over a larger range, just look at the line "For counter = 1 To 10", swap out the number 10 for whatever number you actually need,
