It’s never on time; it's always a mess... just typical.

Samuel Anderson34 said:Greetings. Does anyone know of an MMA gym around here that offers training in two or three different martial arts under one roof?
Thanks.

Sure, go hit up some local MMA gym and then come back and tell me how much better it is than running or whatever... if you really want to be that wrong.🙂
Daniel Garcia said:Look, if you actually want to be able to defend yourself, you gotta learn how to hit and how to take a punch.🙂 Anyone telling you otherwise is full of it or clueless. For real self-defense, go with Krav Maga or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—or if you’ve got money to burn and all the time in the world to actually make it useful, maybe Wing Chun (just do your homework on where to go).
As for non-striking sports, stick to wrestling, Judo, or BJJ.
But hey, if you wanna be an Aikido hippie ballerina like our resident forum expert Larry Hayes, 😍 I'd suggest checking out Takemusu Aikido or Aikikai clubs.

Emily Moore47 said:I assume you mean an MMA gym, certainly not some "UFC club"... 😁
The effectiveness of fighting "one against many" without using dirty tactics depends on whether you are talking about a street fight or a staged scenario in a gym... though I suppose it’s a bit foolish to claim a street fight would be free of dirty tricks... 😁
Since you mentioned Krav Maga, maybe you should just go train it if you're going to use it as an example...
For one-on-one combat under UFC rules, BJJ might actually be your best bet...
But honestly, looking at your posts, I can't quite figure out what you're actually after... Are you looking for recreation, self-defense training, or do you just have a general passion for martial arts???

Muay Thai, kickboxing, judo, or BJJ.
Give me some reasons why or why not...
Alexander Wilson9 said:It’s my first time posting here, so I wanted to ask: does anyone know of a good martial arts club in the Tampa area? Specifically looking for somewhere that works with individuals. I’m trying to tone up my frame—I’m about 5'7" and 115 lbs—and I really want to put on some muscle. It’s been impossible so far, even though I’m eating healthy. I cut out sweets about a month ago, which was a massive struggle since I have a serious sweet tooth, but I knew I had to start somewhere. Thanks!
