I’ve noticed the technique mentioned in a few Nanbudo clubs, but they don't really go into detail about it. I'm also wondering where the best place would be to pick up a decent staff.
Look, a Bo isn't just some standard stick you pick up off a shelf. They come in all sorts of sizes and thicknesses... it’s a highly individualized thing. Honestly, you're better off just grabbing the first sturdy piece of wood you find in the woods; that’s how you get the most authentic Bo possible. Otherwise, if you really want to shop around, check out Paart.
And one more thing... forget about the idea that you can just go somewhere and learn the Bo specifically. There is a massive amount of stuff you have to master before anyone is even going to let you touch a staff.
This is just awful.... Honestly, if you want this to actually matter, you should take it straight to the major national newspapers... otherwise, you’re never going to stir up the kind of outrage these situations deserve... GOOD LUCK!!!
Of course you should ask someone with more experience... Basically, when I'm drilling, I can usually feel exactly what my buddy is messing up... especially if the instructor demonstrated the technique on me first. But if I have no clue what’s going on and the move just isn't working, then yeah, I’ll go ask the sensei.
Yesterday, for example, we were working on some leg strikes. The technique was supposed to end with a strike right against his extended leg, just above the Achilles tendon... And here’s the thing... if you're striking that spot while standing too far away from his extended leg, it's a totally different story than if my planted foot is right next to his. If I'm close, I can hit way harder and actually knock him off balance... It took me a few tries to wrap my head around it myself, and once I finally figured out where the catch was, I mentioned it to my friend. Naturally, he just swept me right off my feet after that...
I don't see this coaching thing as some lecture or an attempt to act smarter than everyone else. To me, it’s just essential communication between two adults trying to level up their game... without it, things are way harder. I’m totally open to suggestions, too... they can only help. But since I view it this way, I’ll tell someone exactly what I think if I see them doing something less efficiently than they actually could.
Balic is unstoppable... you can't even touch him... yet this guy just keeps tearing through everyone... Dammit, even Chuck Norris couldn't handle this!!!

Maybe try using Google first... it's basically your best friend here. Depending on what triggers it—whether it's bacterial or viral—it can be absolutely brutal. I went through it myself... luckily, I had a milder case. In my case, it showed up as a complication from heatstroke. They find the infection in your cerebrospinal fluid via a lumbar puncture... which means they stick a needle right into your spinal column to pull out the fluid. After that, I dealt with these spasms in that area every single day... damn painful. I don't remember the specific sensation of the pain itself, but I definitely remember that it hurt like hell. But look, this isn't really about meningitis specifically... there's way too much info out there to list everything here, so it's better to just go look it up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meningitis
It’s definitely not a bad thing... I actually just came across this article recently detailing research findings that suggest people who stay active with sports don't deal with beer bellies. Apparently, it only shows up in people who drink constantly but don't move an inch at all... so there you go... And for the record, I love a good beer too...
Daniel Garcia said:What I'm wondering is, can you actually catch diseases from a bite? Whether it's someone biting their attacker or an attacker biting back...
Just one little thing to consider... the human mouth is home to about 500 different types of bacteria... so just think about that. Obviously, with a standard bite, the chance of catching something nasty is slim since you usually need a specific infectious dose to get sick... but the possibility is always there.
placidbison20...I feel the exact same way...Every summer when I leave Washington, D.C., I start missing my training sessions...As soon as I got back, I headed straight to the gym to meet up with the guys...It felt damn good to be back...
I play basketball recreationally, so I’ve dealt with way more ankle sprains than I care to admit. Three times on the left, three times on the right—one of those right-side ones actually had me stuck in a walking boot for a while. Every recovery feels different, but that one in the boot? That took months. It took over a month just to walk normally again, let alone even dream about running. Honestly, you'll just have to gauge it yourself over time to see when your ankle can actually handle the load. For now, hop around on the other leg and try to take the pressure off the injured side. Once you feel up to it after a few days, start doing some very gentle range-of-motion exercises. If the recovery drags on, that injured leg might get a bit weak because you're favoring the other one, but it's all temporary. Just watch out for your foot; once everything finally heals, you're still going to feel some stiffness in that joint for quite a while... so make sure you stretch it out and do your rehab exercises. Good luck.
Great movie....and I’ll bet my life savings that in just a few months, we're going to see an announcement for a sequel....Optimus Prime pulls some tiny fragment of the Allspark right out of Megatron's chest, Megatron ends up sunk (safe and sound, presumably), and then Optimus calls out to the rest of the Autobots....It’s the perfect setup to keep the story going.
ouuuuuuuuuu yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!! tonight we're hitting the theater for Transformers... seats are already booked, grabbing a beer first....and just like the guy above said...pđđđđ booooooom!!!!
If they try to make some cheesy romance the damn centerpiece of this movie, I SWEAR, my crew and I are going to be out here in the streets filming our own new Transformers. This would end up being the most expensive (and only) movie ever shot in this neighborhood... it’ll cost me a few cases of beer for my Transformers to drink, and then we're moving on to transforming ourselves and the whole block. A love story mixed with Transformers? Give me a break. Thank God they didn't turn it into a Transformers musical!!!!! The only thing I’d actually tolerate is if they shoved Samurai Jack in there, but since that isn't happening, I am DEMANDING piles of shredded metal and construction debris.
Grace Diaz76 said:then my own dentist started lying to me since after I lost a tooth (doesn't even matter how), I went in to ask how much it would cost to fix it. They pulled the root and everything, so I need a whole new one, and I have an appointment scheduled for August. And that's the price I'm going to pay...
Look, remember one thing... you aren't getting an Implant. There isn't a single person in this entire country capable of doing an Implant for that kind of money. Besides, you don't grind down the neighboring teeth for an Implant. You do that for bridges, which means you'll end up with a bridge in the end. I know exactly what I'm talking about here, and it seems like there’s some major confusion between you and your dentist if you actually think they're performing an Implant procedure while grinding down two adjacent teeth. The cheapest Implants I know of in Chicago go for $2167.
Grace Diaz76 said:It isn't just $500 one tooth . But when you start working on it, you have to grind down the others so they can sit right against it. In his case, we’re looking at three crowns .
Look, sorry... but before you decide to bury someone in a hole, maybe do some actual research on the difference between an Implant, a crown, and a bridge? Because what you just wrote is total nonsense. You aren't talking about Implants at all; you're describing bridges. Just a reminder: the guy wants Implants.
Nathan Ramos77 said:Hey, I'm missing my upper front teeth—numbers 1 and 2. I haven't stepped foot in a dentist's office in years because, honestly, I'm embarrassed. Can anyone recommend a good dentist who can do Implants? I just want to be able to smile normally again. Thanks.
So you say you want Implants, but you don't exactly have the cash to burn... do you realize a single Implant runs you about $1,000 or more??? And it’s actually pretty wild that you're more ashamed of a dentist (who is literally the only person that can help you) than you are of the hundreds, maybe thousands, of people who have seen you on the street over the last few years... Not to mention, dentists see cases like yours every single day, whereas people out in public probably don't care nearly as much... On top of that, I get it, you want things to look perfect... but let's be real, high-end aesthetics cost a fortune and require serious upkeep. Since you haven't seen a dentist in years, you really need to ask yourself: is your oral hygiene actually up to par? Fixing one tooth or replacing a gap doesn't mean all your problems are solved. The struggle might be over for now, but that's exactly when you need to start being consistent and actually maintaining everything.
