So the other day I was totally cracking up with a coworker and accidentally thought she was a 🙂—then I just went for it and said, since we’re already touching, 😬 after she grabbed my stomach. 😎
Jerry Hughes74 said:Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane when my in-laws keep lecturing me about how I’m wasting money on baby gear and all this little stuff... they act like we’re just going to magically have everything ready the second the kid arrives. Like, yeah, right. So, what am I supposed to do until then? Just conjure her out of thin air using some kind of magic trick? 🙂
My situation is the total opposite—she’s got major shopping fever and wants to buy every single thing in sight! No matter how much I explain that a newborn doesn't need a designer onesie from $57... she finally gets it, but man, she’s been hitting up Target so hard lately that I’m worried there won't be anything left for my own kid 😠
Ugh, tell me about it. It’s like everyone just wants a piece of you. I’ve only been at this for 18 weeks and honestly—I already feel like some target everyone's constantly poking at 🙈. It was wild how people thought they were suddenly invited to weigh in on my life. And get this—the "nicest" comment I got was someone telling me, "Well, you look great!" Like... okay? And how exactly am I supposed to look?! 🙂 I haven't quite figured out how to jump back and tell everyone to hands off 🙄 and stop stressing me out about my weight—I'm actually up 4 pounds. If there's any silver lining, it's probably all in my stomach and chest, because I don't feel any heavier to myself 🤷
The start of this second trimester is seriously driving me crazy—not a single symptom, no stomach issues, nothing... I don't even feel pregnant! I just keep playing the same mental movie over and over—is everything actually okay? Is the baby doing fine? Are they growing like they should? 🙂
Hannah Lewis2 said:You aren't planning on delegating husband duties to the kids, are you? What are you, a wife or a mother?
We already cleared this up—none of that stuff applies. Honestly, how can you even think you can watch over a kid with that kind of focus? 🙂You're totally gonna miss something!
Samuel Ross60 said:Shirley Temple, do you think maybe I don't have to get rid of it? I want this baby because I know it's the only way I can keep my man! What happens if I don't give birth? I won't have fulfilled my purpose! What even is a woman without a child?
And yes, I did dye my hair while pregnant. :mommy:
And yes, I plan on using Pampers instead of cloth diapers.
Samuel Ross60 said:I could use some perspective here: I’ve been entertaining this somewhat radical notion where I don't have my baby sleeping in the same bed as me, and instead, we move the crib into a separate nursery once they hit the two-month mark. We would, of course, rely on a high-quality baby monitor.
Is this kind of thinking a sign that I’m fundamentally unfit for motherhood? Or should I just be looking into adoption instead?
A very anxious mother-to-be

Honestly, you might need to check out a parenting blog or some other forum... this isn't really the right place for this kind of thing 🙂 and yeah—standard procedure—I feel the exact same way 😍
Hannah Lewis2 said:I've tried sending him over more than once. It’s just not happening. Honestly? I probably raised them all wrong. 🙂
Maybe try sending it without a return address? 🤔
Honestly, it’s not even about sleep schedules or breastfeeding or what kind of diapers you use—it’s all about attitude. If you don't agree with how someone else does things, then maybe you shouldn't have kids in the first place, right? I'd heard people talk about "pregnancy brain," but man, I had no idea just how extreme that can actually get 😲
And seriously, that whole "I would never, ever..." line always comes back to haunt you like a boomerang 😍
Hannah Lewis2 said:What would those self-righteous saints say to a mom who leaves her nursing baby tucked away with a sitter just to hit up a concert with her husband? ☕ Pure scandal! I didn't even look at the kid for two whole hours. 🙂
Honestly, I think she should probably bring him back ASAP 😁
So, I went to my doctor last week for a Pap smear and some swabs. The doc also did an ultrasound because I've had this cyst on my ovary for a while and wanted to check on it.
I had absolutely no clue I was about 2 weeks pregnant at the time—just confirmed it today with a test!
Does anyone know if that ultrasound could have done anything bad to such a tiny embryo???
Like, is there radiation or something? I recently stumbled upon an article saying ultrasound might mess with cell development or slow it down...
Maybe this is a silly question, but whatever. Thanks in advance!
I really don't think you have anything to worry about—first off, at two weeks, you're basically just dealing with fertilization, right? And besides, doctors do ultrasounds all the time in early pregnancy, especially if they suspect an ectopic pregnancy. I'm 10 weeks along now and I've already had about 5 ultrasounds due to fibroids and some spotting... I honestly don't think a doctor would risk it unless the benefits totally outweighed the risks.
I’m freshly retired too—so for now, my biggest annoyance is just how fast my hair and nails grow. Usually, my waxing would last me a whole month, but now? I’m looking at needing another trip to 😢 after just two weeks!
cosmicskipper44 said:Hey Cure, what kind of fillings are you planning to use for your cakes? I was personally leaning towards something like a Black Forest or maybe a hazelnut nougat. Someone actually had the nerve to tell me that a Black Forest cake isn't "fancy" enough for a big occasion!🤷 Honestly though, what even defines a cake filling anymore? What counts as "festive" or high-end? I'm curious—what are you all planning to whip up?
I’m doing a three-tier setup—Sacher, Black Forest, and a fruit parfait—plus a side cake that’s just for us (😂) a non-fancy frozen mousse. Honestly, if you want the mousse, just get the damn mousse and ignore all the haters😉
So, we’re dealing with a patient who's one year out from surgery for cancer—they had some abdominal lymph nodes removed back then—and now this lymphedema is kicking in, hitting both legs and even spreading to the abdomen. Is there anything at all we can do to help ease the discomfort besides just pushing diuretics? Physical therapy isn't an option right now since they're bedridden following a recent procedure, and the swelling is just getting worse by the day—which honestly feels like it's eating away at their chances of recovering and getting back on their feet. Does anyone here know what might work? Like, where do we even start? Is there some kind of device for home use, or maybe a specific cream or something else entirely?! I would be beyond grateful for any info you guys could share
I’ve noticed a ton of you guys saying you can't wait to rip off those "chains" the second you walk through the door. Honestly? I don't really get it—I barely even feel my bra. It’s like... nothing? Literally feels the same as being braless. The only thing I actually notice is a sports bra, and even then, mostly just because it helps my posture. Maybe there's some truth to that whole thing about 80% of women wearing the wrong size, which—let's be real—is pretty wild if it's true 🤷
help me out! I’ve got this weird stain on some paperwork I really need—maybe from moisture or something, who knows? how do I bleach this out or just wipe it away??
