honestly, I was torn between a staple and an entire apartment complex... basically choosing between a tiny metal bit and a high-rise

🤷 I’d say it’s probably just the stitches, especially since you’ve got such a massive incision, though honestly, there’s a chance it could be some lingering effects from the vacuum. Your best bet is to just give your OBGYN a call tomorrow and walk them through everything over the phone.

Have you checked your temperature yet?
I remember feeling that kind of tightness myself for a while, though I honestly can't recall how long it lasted. If the pressure starts ramping up, just give your OB-GYN a call. Otherwise, if it begins to ease off, you’ve got your appointment coming up in two weeks anyway.

rowdyskipper17, I actually mentioned this back on the Popcorn thread, but it’s totally plausible that those internal stitches are pulling on you, especially since that tension usually hits hardest when you’re just standing around or sitting down. It’s likely just your tissue settling back into place, which can feel pretty tight. Are you actually dealing with any real pain right now?
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
I can handle the first day of my period just fine, but the rest? Honestly, it’s whatever. It’s like that old saying goes, "Screw the driver who didn't run the red light"😁...
Usually, those specific days (plus the day before and after) are our go-to time to just let loose and stop overthinking everything, while the rest of the month we basically live by the reverse method—though I don't need to lecture anyone on how reliable that is, considering the result of that method is currently sleeping in a crib😍. We’ve been having unprotected sex during my period for about seven years now, and clearly, I'm not ovulating during those windows. Reading all this though, I feel like I won't even be able to relax during those days anymore... but then again, if it hasn't been an issue until now, it probably won't be (my cycles are pretty steady at 28 days with a 3-4 day duration)
. OT - honestly, the chances of you being pregnant are less than minimal... if your cycles are regular and he finished inside, the odds are tiny. Don't sweat it; just wait for your next period and use your head next time. Let this be a lesson learned!
My sister went through something pretty much identical to what you’re describing, and it turned out to be viral mono. It absolutely wrecked her; she was completely drained, her immune system just tanked, and she couldn't even look at food without feeling nauseous. She was dealing with these dizzy spells and near-fainting fits too, which I guess was a mix of pure exhaustion and not being able to eat anything. It took the doctors at the Mayo Clinic about two weeks to actually nail down the diagnosis, and honestly, we were just lucky it didn't end up causing any permanent liver damage. She was 27 at the time.
You should probably get your blood sugar checked and run a full panel to see where your iron levels are sitting.

Female vs. male OB-GYNs: Any preferences? in Women's Health ·
I’ve got this OB-GYN I’m absolutely thrilled with. He handled both of my pregnancies and is always down to answer every single question or explain things until they actually make sense. I don't have a massive track record with female doctors, so it's hard to say if they're better or worse than the guys. I've only really been seen by two women—one was in the labor and delivery ward and she was incredibly gentle, while the other saw me when I was admitted to the high-risk maternity unit and she was a bit rougher, though honestly, maybe it was just me being extra sensitive because those heavy antibiotics had given me a nasty yeast infection.
The physical sensation of the exam itself matters, sure, but the psychological approach you take with a patient is just as huge. In my case, everything lined up perfectly with my doctor, but if I were forced to choose between an invasive exam paired with a great bedside manner versus a "gentle" exam from someone who treats you like a number, I’d pick the first one every single time.
I mean, I’ve heard plenty of women claim that male doctors tend to be more gentle—since they seemingly know what women respond to😁—whereas the female doctors can be a bit more brusque...🤷
How long did it take you to plan your career change? in Women's Health ·
The first time we were looking at two months out, but this time we just didn't get around to mapping out which two years we’re actually aiming for ahead of schedule😁

Yeah, I’m one of those lucky people who actually managed to wrap up their PhD😁...
while my sister ended up dealing with the exact same mess you're going through after giving birth.
For me, my go-to was some herbal tea blends I used to pick up from a local apothecary down in Portland. It was basically just a random mix of everything under the sun, but honestly, it worked... my symptoms were a total moving target, too; one month it was nausea, the next it was groin or abdominal cramps, then sometimes it was a killer headache or just feeling completely wiped out, though the whole ordeal really started kicking in around age 16, even though I'd been dealing with it since I was 13.
You might want to get your blood sugar levels checked too, because a sudden drop can definitely trigger that ringing sensation.

So, how does sage actually come in? 😕Like, do you just grab the loose tea bags and brew it, or what?🤷
