silentheron25 said:Today is my last day before vacation. I truly believe we’ll manage to get rid of this nuisance eventually. It was a bit annoying once, and since it's been raining lately, things have felt a little cooler... I can't think of any jokes right now. Keep smiling, everyone. Take care.

Look, if you ask me, just stay in the water as much as possible and soak up the sun. You might also try mixing 5% salicylic acid into some Vaseline every five days to help clear those flakes👍

For me, that’s the gold standard for clearing scales. I’m definitely packing it for my trip to the coast this year, since the sun and salt tend to make everything work even better...

Enjoy yourself. Best regards...😉 😍🙏

Linda Chase81 said:Could someone save me the trouble and let me know the price of Psoriasis cream? Also, I'm wondering if I should run some tests before I start using it... 🙏 🙏

A 30g jar of Psoriasis ointment... $57 I checked at a local pharmacy near downtown, and a 90g jar is around $500–$600, if I recall correctly what Robin Robinson8 mentioned...

An ointment works much better than a cream...

The only issue is that this cream doesn't work for everyone—for some, it doesn't seem to do anything at all. You really need to commit to applying it consistently for at least a month before you see any results... and it tends to be most effective when dealing with mild to moderate psoriasis...

Mixing 5% salicylic acid into some Vaseline might help boost the effectiveness... It works best when paired with UVB phototherapy, though you have to be careful—using Psoriasis treatment and then heading out into the sun can leave lasting marks, whereas the UVB combo doesn't seem to cause that issue...🙏

Actually, I’d suggest seeing Dr. Stanimirović. Both he and Robin Robinson8 recommended him to me... you should be able to find his office address online...
Because those folks over at the Mayo Clinic don't seem to have any real clue about Psoriasis...👎

Your best bet is to schedule an appointment with him directly... ask him everything you need to know, and he’ll walk you through it all clearly...😍😍

Sure, you can apply Psoriasis cream on your own, but I’d say it’s better to just go in for that one checkup for peace of mind...

Greetings to everyone on this sub-forum. It looks like things have been getting pretty wild over the last few days...😂🤣😁

Which doctor did you see?

Some young doctor. Honestly, she wasn't much help😂 The main thing was getting that lamp—insist on it

Dr. Pašić is still practicing, if you care...😁

If you want a solid private dermatologist, I can DM you their number

Maria Chavez55 said:Chris Morgan67, how’s the traffic looking over by Salisbury? I’m thinking about heading down there to spend a little of that taxpayer money... 😉

A wise decision...🙂

I have to give them credit over at Salisbury; Branka’s sister did a fantastic job organizing the therapy sessions. Everything is perfectly scheduled—for instance, my appointments are set for 10:00 AM every other day...

I show up at 10:00, she calls my name, and that’s that...

The waiting room is packed for checkups, but you won't be waiting more than ten minutes for therapy...🙏🙏🙏

So, that's why I'd suggest...👍

Aaron Anderson5 said:I was diagnosed with psoriasis three years ago and I've been fighting a losing battle ever since. I tried all the creams my doctors suggested, but even when they worked, the flare-ups would come back even worse the moment I stopped applying them. Now my arms and legs are covered in spots that are slowly spreading everywhere. I'm at a total loss and would appreciate any advice on an effective way to get healed.

I'm 21, and I think you know how this goes... Summer is coming, the weather is getting nice, sun, skirts, pools—just thinking about missing out on all of that and being stuck in long sleeves and pants puts me in a depression... 😢.

thanks in advance!

Morning, dear🙂.

My suggestion is to find a solid private specialist. Definitely look into whether UVB or UVA light therapy is an option available to you locally...
.
If you aren't near the coast and can't access medical phototherapy, maybe try a tanning salon. It helps quite a bit...
.
best,🙂🙂

quietviper26 said:Hmm, that link covers quite a bit of ground, true, but I have to say I didn't experience any side effects, and my psoriasis cleared up. Regardless, it beats using corticosteroids. I'll ask my doctor if he knows anything about potential side effects. Thanks for the info.

No worries, I tend to spend my free time digging through things online...🤣

By the way, here is a link to an EU Commission study regarding the safety of fumaric acid http://ec.europa.eu/food/fs/sc/scan/out112_en.pdf

From what I can gather, these preparations have been sold in Germany for fifteen years under the names
Fumaderm and Fumaderm Initial, but whether due to legitimate reasons or certain lobbies, they aren't necessarily the most natural or safest things out there. Just thought you should know. I think the most important thing is to stay informed about everything you ingest 🙂

Best, 🙂

quietviper26 said:I used to deal with a nightmare scenario where I’d have to take my shoes off three times a day just to scratch for fifteen minutes at a time. Everything cleared up once I started therapy with Dr. Soltyšik. Mixing salicylic acid into Vaseline helps lift the scales so things look a bit better, and I’ve tried the Balmandol bath too—it works well. But honestly, all of that is just maintenance...

First off, hello👍 and I'm glad you finally got your psoriasis under control.🙏

Still, fumaric acid isn't exactly something I'd take without giving it some serious thought... here's a link to a site about it: http://www.psorsite.com/fumaric.html

granitefalcon13 said:I'm wondering if anyone else deals with psoriasis on the soles of their feet. It gets so unbearable that I'm forced to wear closed shoes even in the middle of summer.
If anyone has better insights, please let me know.

Greetings to you and all our new members—hopefully, this thread finds some life again...👍

Unfortunately, I can't offer much help—all I know is that those with hand psoriasis often use creams paired with plastic gloves.
Regardless, you should definitely stick to footwear made from natural materials.

Sending my best to all my fellow sufferers here...👍

As for my own situation—I recently visited a well-known specialist who is frequently mentioned in various threads. I received quite a bit of solid advice; my current regimen involves salicylic acid in Vaseline occasionally, Psorcutan, and UVB light therapy.

Finding quality creams here in the States is difficult... It's a sad truth. Psorcutan is incredibly expensive (30g is $57), and many of the other effective creams I want to try simply aren't available on the American market.

To my fellow sufferers, the most important thing is having the budget—if you have the funds, the options for managing this are endless...😳

On a side note, a warm recommendation for Balmandol bath soak, which my doctor suggested. You can find it at any Walgreens. Just add it to the tub and soak for 20 minutes daily.
It’s perfection. I truly recommend it...🙏 $23 One container is enough for about 20 baths.

silentheron25 said:So, goldenstag213 and I finally met up today, and he brought me some honey and an ointment. It’s been helping me quite a bit, and I truly believe it’ll work for you and anyone else willing to try it. Here are a few photos showing the progress. They aren't great quality since my camera isn't top-tier, but you can see how everything was incredibly red before... now, only the edges remain slightly flushed while the skin inside looks almost normal. This is on my hands.

I see that, truly😲...😲

I'm genuinely glad to hear that🙏...👍

By the way, they say every psoriasis patient deals with something different; mine looks nothing like yours😁—mine is more spotted🤣...

I think I finally figured out what’s been messing with me.

It's just constant stress. And my skin reacts to it immediately...😛😛

I’ve finally started phototherapy myself. My symptoms flared up primarily due to stress😢 since my AST levels are normal.
The HLA typing results were exactly what I expected—it turns out I carry the psoriasis gene. As if I didn't already know that...😁😁

I've been using various oils, some baby cream, and Psorcutan, which seems to work best alongside the light therapy.🙏🙏
It’s pricey, but honestly, it’s a lifesaver for people like us. I still don't understand why it isn't covered by insurance or even stocked in most local pharmacies.😕🤷

There must be some kind of shady racket involved somewhere...😂

Hi everyone...😍

silentheron25 said:I’d suggest cutting your hair short; it really helps the scalp breathe better. Trust me, I barely have any hair left, and my scalp feels so much better since I shortened it. I wash every three days, which works wonders. I use Neutrogena's T-gel...

Could you please tell me the exact name of that Neutrogena shampoo you use? What does the bottle look like, and where do you usually pick it up?

I saw a few different types of T-gel at CVS, and I'm not sure which one to grab🤷. Also, if you wouldn't mind, let me know how much it costs...

Thanks so much...😍

Kate Williams41 said:Hey everyone, I wanted to ask you something. Those lamps people are talking about—are they actually for phototherapy, or...?
My doctor back when I was living in Switzerland recommended phototherapy, but when I asked my current doctor here, he basically just went, "Oh, we don't really have that kind of thing available around here..." 😂 What an idiot.

Best to all!

Yeah, you can get phototherapy at the Vineyard. I'm not sure if it's available elsewhere... though it probably is. 😁

steelseal13 said:I tend to see her mostly too. 😉
She actually recommended a decent cream when I was recovering from a C-section—applied over my psoriasis patches, naturally... the incision just wouldn't heal properly for a while...😢

Oddly enough, she’s never sent me for any diagnostic testing, which seems strange given I've dealt with psoriasis for 14 years covering about 80% of my body.😢

By the way, I'm seriously considering moving closer to the Vineyard area.

So, how's the vibe over by the Vineyard?

Man, my doctors are such "come in whenever" types. They just keep prescribing Beloderm.🤷
I think if I hadn't followed Dr. Smith's advice, I'd be halfway to heaven by now.🤣Okay, maybe exaggerating, but...

It actually surprised me that she finally sent me for some tests.😲 I only go back because her office lighting is perfect for me.🙏

@Robin Robinson8/">@@Robin Robinson8, I'm glad you're feeling better.🙏

Haha, I’m watching too... 😍

Does anyone here plan on seeing Dr. Miller for a Salad? I’m genuinely fascinated by how she keeps herself together... even if she has been around since the dawn of time... 😍 I had thought about just retiring since I haven't been up there in two years, especially now that she's back. Instead, she sent me off for all these tests—bloodwork, urinalysis, HLA typing... we'll see...

Jack to everyone...

Maria Chavez55 said:A colleague mentioned things are getting pretty hectic over there, which is more than enough reason for me to stay away. Besides, I'm waiting on my appointment for Naphtha, so I'll be skipping the salad this year regardless...

Ugh, I really didn't want to hear that...😛 even though it's always chaotic up there...😠

I'm seeing my doctor next week, so I'll see how things look then. Thanks and best regards...🙂
