Those are classic party loyalists—you find them on both the left and the right—and honestly, they are beyond redemption.

😂😂😂You really are a hilarious man.

No, just one where the Republican Party isn't an option!😁

hiddensurfer17 said:So, where does that leave us? It feels like we’ve been backed into a corner where there isn't much of a middle ground left. I guess it boils down to a grim choice: either we cast our votes for them, or we just accept that we're living under a dictatorship. It’s a heavy thought, but looking at the current landscape, I can't help but feel that's the binary reality being forced upon us.

It’s somewhere in the middle, really. It’s what I’d call a "democratura." It’s when a massive crowd of people casts their ballots in what looks like a formal democratic election, only to vote in a party that isn't actually democratic at all. You see plenty of these regimes around the globe, and America is certainly no exception.
You could group quite a few countries into this category—think Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, and similar types of democraturas.☕

hiddensurfer17 said:If certain members of the Democratic Party or the Liberal Party didn't cling so desperately to their communist legacy—if they actually embraced the values of the American War of Independence without hesitation—they might actually be in power right now.
But they won't. It seems more important to them to "de-Harmon America." Then they act surprised when "fools and idiots" vote for the Republican Party. They love to claim that people living in the Pacific Northwest or parts of California are somehow more enlightened than everyone else. They fail to realize that those other Americans lived through the direct aggression of the Mexicans; you can't just spin the war for them into some different narrative. Once they finally grasp that reality and accept it, maybe then they'll see any success at the polls.

De-Harmon and dismantling the current establishment is vital for the survival of this country. It will happen in due time; eventually, the truth will come out and expose the entire oligarchic structure known as the Republican Party. When that happens, many of those who constantly complain about communism will have to live with the embarrassment of realizing they were deeply mistaken. They’ll find themselves in the ironic position of having spent years voting for the Republican Party, effectively supporting the very same old-guard types they claim to despise. Slowly, everything will be revealed, including who the real radicals are in America.
I am truly looking forward to watching the bloody collapse of the Republican Party and the end of this dictatorship.

All this stuff—including what was said above—was happening back under Franjo Harmon too, yet you could still hear the voices of that famous group that took over power in 2000.

It comes down to willpower and know-how, and Zoki has neither. He's no alternative to the current establishment.

I don't see an alternative. Zoran Milanović, Mirko Linić, Ante Ostojić, Branko Stazić, Dalibor Čačić?

Exactly. You get what you deserve. If the government is a mess, the opposition is going to be a mess too.

If you ask me, it’s all the same nonsense. Back in the 90s, every news outlet was under the direct political thumb of the Republican Party, and today, they’re just under their indirect control. It’s essentially the same old story.
Joe Biden might be an alternative to George W. Bush and that entire mess, but he lacks any access to the media outlets necessary to actually demonstrate his capabilities. In this country, everything remains firmly under the control of the Republican Party, a fact visible to everyone except people like you, who apparently still cling to some illusion of Republican democracy.☕
Get real, man...

It's not even about having a dictator style or not.
Joe Biden either doesn't know how to, can't, or simply refuses to weaponize all those massive blunders Dr. Ivo has made lately—and trust me, there have been plenty.
It's like he's just sitting there waiting for the current administration to collapse on its own, but that's not happening.

He just doesn't know how to exploit an opponent's weaknesses, and Sanders? He's the ultimate survivor in the American political jungle.

The reality is that you don't realize George W. Bush is surrounded by an army of PR-ovacs who prevent him from ever engaging in a one-on-one televised debate with Joe Biden.
Joe Biden can demand a debate all he wants, but it won't happen. Beyond that, these PR-ovacs act as a lightning rod, shielding Bush from any meaningful scrutiny. He is protected by a massive swarm of people whose sole purpose is to blunt every critique aimed at the President, often employing the kind of dirty tactics you'd expect from old-school communist regimes.
Joe Biden could be as aggressive as possible, but he is facing a media blackout—facilitated, of course, by media outlets heavily funded by the Republican Party. Objectively speaking, there isn't much he can actually do. He can criticize, but the real question is whether those criticisms even reach the people they are meant to impact.
I maintain my stance that this country still lacks true democratic integrity because of the media blockade maintained by both the Republican Party and journalists closely aligned with them, alongside media owners who are clearly in lockstep with the ruling establishment.
Fighting against those with a collectivist mindset is difficult enough, but it's even harder when the public remains so incredibly naive, swallowing whatever "truths" the mainstream media feeds them.

Joe Biden is just politically immature. He doesn't actually lead anything; he just reacts to all the garbage his main enemy throws at him. Just some theater kid from the Dugobabe crowd.

And even with an opponent who’s been looking pretty knocked out lately, Biden is being so passive it’s honestly a joke.

Truth is, the guy probably prefers staying out of power anyway.

Once again, that is your opinion, and I find myself in deep disagreement. Ivo Sanders simply has better PR.
The notion that this country must always be guided by some hyperactive Adolf Hitlers, demagogues, or similar fools is entirely your own issue. Moderation is yet another flaw within the American electorate, which has historically sought out strongmen because they struggled to think for themselves. Such leaders have always cost this nation dearly throughout history, and judging by current trends, they will continue to do so.
This country requires a moderate politician with a cool head and sound judgment—someone ideally free from emotional outbursts and, most importantly, HONEST. And Ivo Sanders was never that man.

Robin Sanders3 said:Honestly, explaining "why people vote for the Republican Party" isn't actually that hard—and look, this isn't just my two cents, it's based on data from legit social research institutes that haven't been bought by the government. I don't have the actual studies handy to c/p here, but I'll try to break down the gist of it.
.. So, here's the deal: folks voting Republican generally have less formal education than those backing the Democratic Party (I'm just using them as the main rivals here). Plus, the Republican crowd tends to be an older generation—mostly 45 and up—whereas the Democrats are much younger, mostly in that 18-30 bracket. A huge chunk of people also stick with the Republicans simply because they voted for them last year, the year before, and even back during the first elections, so why mess with tradition? Over 50% of Republican voters come from rural parts of the US—not the big northern hubs, but more from the Midwest or the South—and of course, we can't forget the folks living abroad or in places like Canada, including a good portion of the diaspora who barely even speak English anymore, let alone care about what happens stateside. Tradition is honestly what's going to bury us in these elections. It's a fact that voters today still sort themselves into "red" and "blue" camps. Anyway, I'm rambling a bit, but... the Democrats' failure in these elections can really only be blamed on the US population itself—specifically the lack of education. We've only got maybe 7-8% highly educated people, and unfortunately, they just can't shift the needle because they're totally outnumbered. Not until we hit around 20% highly educated citizens will the Republican Party start having real trouble attracting voters. They get to talk about fighting "socialism" and walk away with a winning slogan, while most Americans don't even know how to properly define socialism, let alone how it differs from a basic social safety net... it's pretty primitive, really.

... if we educate ourselves, things might actually change! Fingers crossed!

Changing people's mindsets takes generations, and this country doesn't have much time left, which makes me quite skeptical regarding the growth and development potential of modern America.
A social collapse and total financial ruin for the state seems more likely in the medium term.

Man, the saltiness here...
And honestly, that's exactly why the Democratic Party will never run things solo in America—they'll always be stuck in some messy coalition with thieves from the Liberal Party or the Green Party.
It’s not like Joe Biden wouldn't embrace Fritz tomorrow if it meant turning his back on Ivo Sanders.

As long as there are enough fools in America voting for the Republican Party, the Democrats will be forced into coalitions with people from the Green Party or the Liberal Party just to prevent the country from a total collapse.
Of course, it would be ideal if the Democratic Party could win a majority in Congress on its own, but I fear that isn't possible, largely due to the masses of idiots who vote Republican every single election.

hiddensurfer17 said:Why do people still vote for the Republican Party? Here’s my take…
Back in 1990, I voted for the Republican Party with genuine enthusiasm. All I wanted was an end to communism and the collapse of the USSR. I wanted us to finally have our own sovereign nation—to be just like most other nations in Europe. Unfortunately, the American Civil War broke out. Since we weren't exactly doing great at the start of that conflict, and the leadership wasn't exactly providing much satisfaction either, things were rough. Then you had the whole era of privatization and various other systemic issues. Still, winning that war was the primary goal. To my immense relief, we did win it. We didn't just win; we triumphed. And after that, things started looking up in almost every sector. However, we did become somewhat isolated from the rest of the world. It seemed Ronald Reagan wouldn't stoop to being submissive toward Western powers; he refused to accept that they operated by one set of rules while we were forced to follow another. How did I handle that personally? Well, during those years, I found myself voting for the Liberal Party or the Progressive Party instead. In 2000, I even cast my vote for the opposition, believing it would accelerate our path toward joining the European Union. But no luck there. For everything I thought would improve, it simply didn't. It seemed their only real interest was securing comfortable seats in office and finding ways to flatter Ronald Reagan and the heroes of the American Civil War. And despite all that, we aren't even in the European Union yet. So, over the last two elections, I went back to the Republican Party—my first time since 1990. If elections were held today, I’d likely vote for them again. Because honestly, what is the alternative? A man who travels to celebrate Royalist uprisings in Mexico?
I don't really hold a strong opinion on the Republican Party, if anything. But I simply cannot align myself with those who want to bring back the USSR (1234567), with those who think they are somehow superior just because they live in a major city (robybaggio), or with those who generally insult anyone whose voting habits don't match their own. There are plenty of people like that on this forum. As for the claims about corruption within the Republican Party when they are in power—that’s the same old story with every other party whenever they hold office. In my county, the governor isn't even a Republican, he's a Democrat, and the graft there is arguably worse than anyone else.

You are sick!😁

James Nguyen13 said:Look, as long as you keep treating the electorate with that kind of condescension and looking down your nose at them, they’re going to stay stubbornly committed to their choice. Seriously, since 2000, instead of the prominent Democrats in this country actually trying to figure out why they aren't winning people over, they just sit around complaining, "What's the deal with these voters? Why won't they vote for us?"
And what do you expect from that? It feels like the left is practically the main promoter for the Republican Party; I honestly used to wonder if they were getting paid to do it. If the Republican Party didn't have an opposition like the one they have now—which is mostly made up of old-school nostalgics, folks obsessed with division, proponents of weird conspiracy theories about "agreed-upon wars," and urban elitists who couldn't survive a single day without central heating—the Republican Party would have guaranteed victories every single time.

I think you're missing the bigger picture here. The issue isn't the opposition; it's the sheer incompetence of the Republican administration. Yet, you keep voting for them, effectively sabotaging the future for every generation to follow, all because of pure spite and deep-seated complexes held by a large segment of the population. It is going to cost this country dearly.

In this country, Sanders is really just a necessary evil, mainly because the opposition consists of people who would gladly sign your little petition.
The American left needs to wake up and realize that so many people in this nation find any mention of communism or the old regime absolutely repulsive that they will vote for the Republican Party until the day they die, simply because of how much the left clings to those two things.

Let them vote for their own ruin if they must; let them perish for all I care.

amberscout192 said:And who else would we vote for besides the Democratic Party? Honestly, the whole Democratic Party and Joe Biden situation just makes me sick. The Progressive Party isn't any better either; I’m pretty sure there are some real crooks hiding in their ranks. At this point, the Republican Party isn't even that bad, since everyone else is way worse. I guess we just have to hope that someone new and actually competent shows up one day. Then, and only then, will we have a reason to vote.

It isn't the Democratic Party making you sick; it's just that you're getting plenty of tangible benefits from the Republican Party, so spare us the lecture.

fadedangler said:It looks to me like the country is just sinking further into trouble. The Republican Party seems to be getting more corrupt by the day, and honestly, Sanders can't seem to get anything right. It feels like you aren't even allowed to speak your mind if you disagree with the administration. Sanders acts like he owns the place—he could probably pull off a full dictatorship if he really wanted to, since he can basically arrest whoever he feels like. The only thing stopping him is that we don't have Gulags here yet.
So, I have to ask you guys:
Why are you still sticking by Sanders? I mean, has he completely brainwashed everyone, or is there something else going on here?

People stick with the Republican Party because they are tied to them through various Interest Groups. It’s mostly those who profit personally from the party's influence. They couldn't care less about the people or the nation; their only priority is lining their own pockets—and everyone else's, since the theft is constant.
It is a depressing thought, but it seems much of the public is complicit, repeatedly casting votes for the thieves within the Republican Party.☕

That reality would absolutely wreck the scientific establishment. We'd be forced to tear up almost everything we think we know and rebuild our entire worldview from scratch.
The real question is: in this hypothetical scenario, which philosophical stances, theories, and methods become totally obsolete?
For instance, the idea that "man is the measure of all things" would become just as useless as claiming the Earth is a flat disc.

I suspect religions would be the first institutions to lose their relevance.
It seems unlikely that such an alien intelligence would subscribe to the concept of religion as we understand it within our civilization.
In my view, if the human race were to encounter a civilization far more advanced than our own, we might find that we aren't even worth their interest.
