I maintained quite some time ago that James Allison is the absolute king of this game.

On another note, I've been watching those Ferrari stints. For a while there, they were running rather lengthy stints—quite fascinating, really—and from what it appears, they actually seem to be managing their tire degradation quite well!!

Those Italian amateurs can only fool the inexperienced. Not us experts. Their habit of ramping up the pressure during prep and testing has become laughable. They only stumble into success by accident. And even if they happen to get lucky this year, their supposed "experts" within the team will ruin it with constant, misguided "upgrades" from race to race.
Consequently, I expect nothing more than mediocrity from Ferrari, much like in recent years.
It helps that they don't even have a top-tier driver this season, so they'll likely look even worse than before.

Red Bull is headed for a downfall. We experts predicted this back when Sebastian Vettel was busy clinching Newey's titles. Regardless, they'll still be better than Ferrari this year. Plus, they actually have better drivers.

As for McLaren, we’ll judge them later. They could easily be the second most convincing team on the grid—similar to last year's Red Bull which also struggled early on—or they could be a total disaster. Let's wait and see. One shouldn't forget that they currently employ arguably the best driver in the sport today.

🤣
What substances are we talking about? Give me something to feel high on.

What are your thoughts? I've already brewed the coffee.😉
I wonder just how much influence Ford actually exerts over Ferrari. It’s never quite clear to me why a massive global entity like Ford doesn't leverage Formula 1 as a primary marketing vehicle anymore.

In my estimation, it would be more transparent if Ferrari simply rebranded itself as Ford entirely. I realize Ferrari exists specifically to serve the racing side of things, but I fail to see why Ford isn't capitalizing on that connection more aggressively. I certainly don't see the same margins on a Ford Focus as I do on a Ferrari, yet I'm certain the Focus moves in significantly higher volumes. You know what I mean, right?

Who actually owns AT&T?

Germany bought out the local firm, much like how Mercedes-Benz acquired the British outfit. Heh. So yes, it's a German company.

Satisfied?
stormybadger8 said:The crew is primarily British. I have no idea why people insist on thinking Mercedes-Benz is a German outfit... and regarding leadership, as far as I am aware, there isn't a single German in the upper management. Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda aren't German; they are Austrian...
and Paddy Lowe would likely commit harakiri before he’d ever let anyone beat his favorite, Lewis Hamilton. 😁

British???🙂

Anyway, once we hit Los Angeles, everything will be crystal clear, so let us just wait.

Paddy Lowe doesn't need to commit harakiri because Nikica couldn't beat Lewis Hamilton even if he stood on his eyelashes in any parallel universe.

The Honda crew might consider collective harakiri after they get absolutely smoked by about two or three laps.

That’s exactly how things will play out as long as Mercedes-Benz keeps fielding superior cars and prioritizes Lewis Hamilton while actively sabotaging Nico Rosberg. Eventually, we'll see a repeat of what happened to Sebastian Vettel last season...

Just like what happened to Fernando Alonso back in 2007, poor guy😁.

Besides, there is a certain logic to it—a German team using a German engine under German leadership holding back their own German driver. To me, it all seems perfectly logical. As plain as day.
vividlynx68 said:I watched every single race last season, and no one is going to convince me that Hemoš wasn't a class above on the track.

It wasn't Nico letting Lewis Hamilton through; there is simply no basis for that conclusion😛.

Once you see Lewis Hamilton in those rearview mirrors, it’s over. It is common knowledge that Hamilton brakes incredibly late. Someone mentioned during an American broadcast that he brakes, on average, about five meters later than Nico Rosberg does. Nico attempted to match that a few times, which resulted in him driving straight off the track—ha. I suppose he had to try, but clearly, it didn't work out.🎉
cosmiccyclist8 said:There are plenty of top-tier drivers out there, sure, but claiming Lewis Hamilton is in a class of his own while Nico Rosberg is just "good"... yeah, right. A "good" Rosberg who has to spin out two or three times in the same chicane just to let the "classy" Hamilton win? Please. 😁

Look, anyone glancing at the end-of-season standings would likely reach the same conclusion you have. 😁 (And I suspect if you actually bothered to watch an individual race, my only advice would be to clean your ears out and perhaps get your eyes checked. 😉 )

Cricket?? Maybe I don't know anything whatsoever.

A decent post, truly. A solid five out of ten. Who actually overtook whom more frequently on track? You forgot about the parking job in Monaco; Nico handled that beautifully. As for Oscar: 👏
cosmiccyclist8 said:Lewis Hamilton is pure class while Rosberg is just decent? What else am I going to read today? 🤣

In the Mercedes era, Hamilton will remain top-tier as long as he has the entire team protecting him. 😁

So, who qualifies as "class" in your book? Please, enlighten me. I’m literally cleaning my ears out right now just so I can hear you better. Go on, tell me.🍿
neonpuma7 said:I’m just sitting here waiting to see how Hamster handles this German-Finnish deception🙂. He owes it to himself after that Mec stalling mess back in Los Angeles last year.

Taking down Barbie shouldn't be a struggle. Though, calling him a fraud driver is a stretch; he's actually quite decent. He isn't quite on Lewis Hamilton's level, but he can certainly hold his own.

I am certain we will immediately witness a reborn Kimi Räikkönen. When that Finn gets a car that suits him—when he has front-end grip and that specific feel—he becomes incredibly difficult to handle. Vettel might actually find his teammate much harder to deal with than Hamilton did.

What happened last year wasn't the real Kimi. It was just a mountain of issues the team couldn't, or wouldn't, fix because they were too preoccupied with Alonso's car. 🙂 Kimi handled it all well enough, and last season wasn't even remotely an indicator of the actual situation. Besides, Alonso isn't nearly as fast as Kimi.

Ricciardo is going to smoke Kyat, plain and simple.

I spent some time looking into Max Verstappen's career—karting, F3, and so on—and I must say, what I saw was a phenomenon. The only drivers who truly flew through the lower categories like that were Ayrton Senna, Kimi Räikkönen, and Lewis Hamilton. The kid pulled over 20 wins in his first F3 season, lol. You have to watch him closely. He’s young, sure, but it is obvious we are looking at an out-of-this-world talent.

Some might call him an alien. Signed, Mladen Jergović, haha.

By the way, where did that eccentric guy go? He abruptly shut down his portal last year and vanished without a trace. Not that I miss him, but still...
To be fair, I wasn't expecting much from him anyway🙂. I ran into him once at a go-kart track, and he didn't exactly impress me.🙂

Timothy Kim60 said:You could probably opt for an A4 series build—like a 5300 or 6300—even though that Celeron actually has more raw processing power. If he isn't going to use a dedicated card, then this one definitely offers much stronger integrated graphics.

We had that Celeron sitting in the warehouse for a bit🙂. We'll likely pair it with something better, maybe a used 7750 or 7770, since that LC-Power 420W unit can handle it.

Essentially, we sourced parts from all over the place—picked up a second-hand ECS motherboard from Micro Center, a used PSU, and so on. The main thing is that the kid is happy. Honestly, it’s a bit of a charity case; half the community stepped up for this project. We pulled together whatever we could for him—just a kid and his single dad who’s currently out of work and struggling with everything else.

Thanks. I agree, it’s a pretty budget setup, but we managed to scrape some cash together at the office to help a kid out. He’s really itching to play Dota 2, so thanks for the info.

A quick question for anyone who might have tried this, since I haven't yet.

Is it actually feasible to run Dota 2 on an Intel Core i3-2100 setup with 4GB of DDR3 and integrated Intel HD Graphics?

Specifically looking at a 720p resolution.

Look, I am certainly not being a chauvinist here—if anyone is, it’s me.

God willing, all drivers could be this attractive and easy on the eyes, much like Barbie Rosenberg, of course.

Look, I’m not being a chauvinist. Not at all. If anyone is, it’s me.

God, I wish every driver on the grid was this stunning and easy on the eyes—take Barbie Rosenberg, for instance.
Budget PC build under $450 in Desktops ·
If you’re looking to trim the budget even further, you can essentially replicate the exact setup smartic suggested by swapping in a pentium g4560, a 500GB hard drive, and an H81 motherboard. That should bring your total cost down below $833.

By the way, your game performance will still be smooth, likely hovering north of 100fps.

Guys, what should I list this for on eBay?

Intel Celeron g540 2.5

The case is black and looks practically brand new. No idea who manufactured it. It seems quite high quality.
Advice for buying a gaming PC! in Desktops ·
Look for a monitor with an IPS panel or one geared toward Professional League of Legends play. Monitor prices are quite low these days, so the actual difference between a standard TN panel and an IPS one is negligible.
It’s good if it features DVI or HDMI, though it isn't strictly necessary. If you're primarily using it for a PC, you won't notice much of a distinction between DVI and VGA. As I mentioned, prices are reasonable, and most models already include DVI, IPS technology, and so on.

Go ahead and grab the R7 260x. The R9 270 is faster, but not by a massive margin. If money is tight, the 260x is perfectly fine; don't drop below that for gaming. You also have the option of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti OC, which draws very little power and sits somewhere between those two in terms of performance—ideal if you prefer GeForce cards or better drivers.

For a processor, aim for at least an i3 or an AMD FX-6300. An FM2 option like the 750k would be a solid choice, but they are incredibly hard to find right now.

As for memory, 4GB should suffice for the moment, though you will likely need to upgrade to 6GB or 8GB very soon. It might be smarter to just get the higher amount immediately.

There aren't many complications here.
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
The Q6600 isn't exactly a bottleneck—and I'm talking about an overclocked unit here; that processor remains a serious piece of hardware even today🙂, provided you push it past 3GHz, which is actually quite easy to do. That GTX 660 sits right on the edge; there might be a minor bottleneck, but it would handle the CPU without any real trouble.

A colleague of mine is running that chip at an OC of 3.2GHz paired with an R9 270, and everything runs perfectly. It’s a remarkable processor. Time has caught up to it slightly, but the guy is still going strong.
