Man, just purely out of curiosity, where are you from and how old are you? Maybe it's just a regional thing or a generational gap or something... I'm 27, living in Washington, D.C. How about you?

I feel like there’s definitely something going on here. It’s just hard to pinpoint the exact culprit sometimes. I’ve been on birth control for seven years now and my drive has absolutely tanked, pretty much starting after that first year... but then again, it could have also been the depression that started hitting me right around that same time. Or maybe the depression was actually a side effect of the pill? Or maybe not? Honestly, I have no clue. Over the years, I just kind of fell out of love with my boyfriend at the time and the whole relationship just crumbled. That probably didn't help with the low libido or the depression either, because being stuck in a relationship with someone you aren't even attracted to anymore is such a heavy thing to deal with... Now that I'm single again, I have this feeling that I'm a little less depressed than I was before. This summer I went three months without any hormonal BC and OH MY GOD, let's just say I felt like I was chasing 😂 I really think the pills are playing a role in my libido, but they aren't necessarily the only factor... I suspect depression plays a huge part too, if it's in the picture.

Yeah. I was on Diane-35. I gained like 33 pounds in about a year or two. It was brutal. And once I finally stopped, I just bloated up like a balloon and went right back to my old weight within two months. No diet, nothing... nobody's gonna convince me it wasn't those pills.

I didn't gain anything while I was on Yasmin. Hopefully, Yaz won't be the same story either...

Does anyone know a good private hepatologist in Chicago? I’m looking for someone private because I know there are plenty at Mayo Clinic or over in Oakland, but I honestly don't know if my primary care doctor is actually going to give me a referral for this... and since it’s really just a minor thing that might be sorted out over the phone anyway...

Basically, I’ve been taking some meds my OBGYN suggested, and my liver enzymes came back slightly elevated... it feels like my GP is a little bit stumped and isn't quite sure if I should stick with the treatment or not, so I figured I’d maybe ask a liver specialist if they think these numbers are actually cause for concern or if it's just something I can ignore... you know...

I tried searching on Google but didn't find much.
