Iraq wins the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Soccer ·

how much is Saudi Arabia going to have to cough up to let them slide into the final?😬
I’d honestly love to see Iraq take the whole thing home, especially since they’ve got this Brazilian manager on the bench who’s only been in charge for like two months, if I’m remembering that right🙏

Japan😛 ,I already put the YouTube link up there

I was catching the highlights on the sports news earlier and I gotta say...
what one guy from Iraq just did to that defense in such a tiny little space was insane...he shook off two defenders like they weren't even there and just slotted the ball home. Absolutely masterclass. 🙏

Here are the clips, look for that last goal right around the three-minute mark. 🙏

The whole thing really boiled down to Line's sheer brilliance and how he just relentlessly hammered away at that French granite 3-2-1 defense through the middle. 🙄 But look, I’m not trying to reopen those old wounds right now 😬

Roger Allen3 said:Are you kidding me? It’s not even a quarterfinal! Let’s just call it what it actually is: those ridiculous, traditional "quarterfinal groups." Why even bother using the right terminology when they're clearly just playing around with the format? 🤣

🙈 I completely lost track of that, honestly! How did I manage to let that slip my mind entirely? 🤣
God, I am so sick of these damn quarterfinals! Seriously, what were they thinking with this group format? It’s absolutely infuriating! 😠 🤮

Honestly, we hit the jackpot with this crew; I wouldn't trade a single person in our drum section for anyone else in the world 🙏
So, who are we actually up against?

I haven't the slightest clue 😕 honestly, it’s not even close to being decent 🤣
just forget about them, they'll end up digging someone up eventually, they're just typical opportunists 😁
edit: alright, looks like Uncle Google finally gave me an answer:

Look, if you ask me about Laslo Najd, Ivo Diaz, Djula Gal, or Fazekas 😕
they aren't exactly garbage, okay? 😉

That’s just that typical frozentiger6 optimism right there 🙄 — where you basically act like 😁"you just don't get it" 😁

I’m seriously counting down the days until 👋

Looking at the second pot, we've got Germany and Russia in there, and honestly, I’d do just about anything to avoid Iceland out of those four. I have no clue what the organizers are even thinking here... 🤔, but if that butcher Pavic is still playing, I’d rather stay far away from them too. Then there's the third pot, hmm... Poland actually looked pretty solid during the World Cup, so they aren't exactly pushovers. I wouldn't want to face Norway just because they're playing on home turf, and the Canadians? They are always a massive headache to deal with. Now, Slovakia being in this pot would be an absolute jackpot 😍
I actually feel bad for the Swedes; I mean, how low can you fall? Ending up in the fourth pot is pathetic 👎 basically anyone else would be fine by me. Here is my dream group setup with the final draw distribution:
  1. USA
  2. Russia
  3. Slovakia
  4. Mexico

They even managed to shut down an Argentina side that went on to claim a medal in the World Cup later on, so you know how much weight this carries. At this rate, it looks like Dunga might be cooking up some kind of tactical magic behind the scenes, and honestly, I'm crossing my fingers that the whole thing turns out to be something special.👍

But honestly, if you actually look at the roster they called up, it’s blindingly obvious they couldn't care less about the Copa America. Check this out:

Roster for the friendly matches against England and Turkey:

GOALKEEPERS: Dona (AS Roma), Helton (Porto)

DEFENDERS: Alex Rodrigo (PSV Eindhoven), Daniel Alves (Sevilla FC), Gilberto (Hertha Berlin), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen), Maicon (Inter Milan), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Naldo (Werder Bremen), Alex Silva (Sao Paulo FC)

MIDFIELDERS: Diego (Werder Bremen), Edmilson (FC Barcelona), Kaka (AC Milan), Elano (Shakhtar Donetsk), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal FC), Josue (Sao Paulo FC), Mineiro (Hertha Berlin),

FORWARDS: Afonso Alves (SC Heerenveen), Jo (CSKA Moscow), Robinho (Real Madrid), Ronaldinho (FC Barcelona), Vagner Love (CSKA Moscow).

How on earth are there only three groups? What kind of twisted tournament system are they even using for the knockout stages after this? 😕

Fun fact: In my opinion, Sporting definitely has one of the best soccer academies out there, especially when it comes to producing wingers.
The alumni include: Luis Figo, Simao Sabrosa, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Quaresma, and even the unproven talent Nani, who is apparently being scouted by Manchester United.

Yeah, honestly, I’ve noticed the exact same thing—all those high-caliber wide players seem to have come straight out of Sporting.🙏
As for Nani, he shows promise, sure, but he's still just messing around with the ball, kind of like how Cristiano Ronaldo used to be back in the day. He really needs someone like Ferguson to put him under some serious discipline and tighten up his game.😁
Once he actually starts playing smart and rationalizing those dribbles, he might actually turn into something special.👍

Final matchday:

Real Madrid - Belenenses Benfica
FC Barcelona - Academica_______
Porto - Aves__________

Porto has their destiny entirely in their own hands now, and honestly, if anyone's got a real shot at clinching the title, it's them! Here's how the standings look right now:
