Yeah. 😍

Right, there was actually a girl with Kebra back in the day too—can't be bothered to dig through my old stuff, but I think her name was Tamara. And yeah, she used to help out... 😬 with both the sound and the whole visual vibe.
gentlepuma20 said:Well, that’s just because their albums suck ass. 😈

But once they actually start jamming, I don't even care anymore... 😳

You're spot on. 🙂

Then again, I wouldn't really be me if I wasn't out here hating on the band everyone loves while hyping up the one nobody else bothered to show up for, right? 😈

By the way, the best message on those phone screens was definitely: Flego is a dirty optimist. 😍

Lucky I wasn't too hammered and actually remembered the number... 😳
gentlepuma20 said:I honestly think !!! is the greatest live band in the entire universe 😍 😍 😍 i Nic is easily the best frontman ever, and man, those dance moves are killer 😍 😍 Plus, that lady is absolutely fierce 😍 I don't get why anyone would even stop jumping while they're playing 😍

Look, I already laid out my own objective reasons for why I stopped jumping... 😬
Mad respect to them for the energy and the show, and yeah, I’d happily catch one of their sets again (wearing something more appropriate, hopefully) and just soak it all in.
But man, I really wish there was a bit more musical depth and variety in what they play, instead of just pure, raw energy. 🙂

I'll admit I'm being a bit of a hype man here, but let's be real—not everyone can pull off being Trans Am, delivering that mix of solid songwriting, insane energy, and making a concert feel like a trip... 😬
I don't even know where to start with this one... just feels like we're circling the drain at this point. There’s a certain level of exhaustion that sets in when you realize everyone is just repeating the same tired talking points without actually thinking for a second. It’s all noise, really. Just endless, repetitive noise... kaže:
Wok Inn is basically the gold standard. Period.

Hey. That place actually opened up just a five-minute walk from my place, but I haven't had the chance to check it out yet... 🙂

Honestly, you've got every reason to be pissed off about this... 😍

NP Kultur Shock - Radio Gitan
The Hold Steady - pretty solid. You can tell they actually give a damn about what they’re doing. Rio Grande was on point too: "this band sounds like they came straight out of some American Vanguard" (or Fidelity, for the younger 😬 folks) "Man, the keyboardist looks like a spitting Ron Jeremy" "Nah, he looked more like Super Mario before..." 😂

Let It Be - some people really swear by them, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Total mistake.

Rage Against the Machine - see my note on Let It Be.

!!! - absolute madness, just pure chaos during that aerobics bit. Then I ran into a problem I never thought I'd deal with—I've lost so much weight that my pants kept slipping down while I was jumping, so I had to chill out a bit after the first few songs. 😬 And honestly, that ruins the vibe; without the craziness and the messing around, everything just feels flat and boring.

Iggy Pop - better than I expected, probably thanks to Mike Watt being there. Passable.

Then, on the way back, we had to listen to some country music blaring from the tents.

Kultur Shock - absolute legends. Not even the best band at the whole festival, but definitely the most fun and wild set—pure mayhem. I'm hooked.

The walk back to the car in a total downpour, getting soaked to the bone, was the ultimate comedown after all that. 😠 Luckily, I haven't lost *that* much weight, so my stomach is still wider than my hips, which meant only the most useless parts of my body actually stayed dry... 😬

Honestly, neither did I, but nothing ever gets past rutvica... 🙂
Kevin Chavez3 said:It’s honestly kind of pathetic when you claim a song is one of your absolute favorites, but then after the show, you have to go around asking people if that was even the right track 🙈

Give me a break... 🙈

I spent the whole night last night telling everyone how much I loved it because it's one of my all-time faves, but I couldn't quite nail down the title—something like Mute... 🙈
And I even mentioned it's the last track on the A side of the original Goo cassette I still have sitting around... 🙈
From the 3rd to the 6th.

I'm feeling pretty out of it... 😳
You’re way too young to be talking about the OP, honestly most of the crowd was just a bunch of retirees and folks hitting their golden years hanging out by the stage. Though, for what it's worth, the audience was insanely far from the actual action... you could tell because when the drummer tossed his stick toward the crowd, he couldn't even reach the front row 😬
The organizers were total trash.
The beer sucked too.
Sonic Youth was good, but they weren't anything special.
The Colored lineup was classic perfection, though.
Everything else I caught just passing by didn't really hit the spot (even if Happy Mondays sounded decent from a distance).

Highlights of the night:
Megan Rodriguez44, who only realized on her way home after a full day out that all four of her hubcaps had been swiped from her car this morning.
A massive love message from gentlepuma20 to stormyviper11 flashed on the big screen.
Finally met Jessica Wright and realized she actually has that little symbol next to her name.

Today I’m skipping Billie; honestly, they’re a hundred times better in smaller venues anyway. I actually wanted to see all four headliners, but since none of them felt as intense as SY or OP, we’re just gonna keep it chill. Plus, I’m still debating between that stinky liquid they call Tuborg and just sticking to water...
Our guy over in China and I should probably be popping up somewhere around when that Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off... 🙂 Plus, we'll likely be around tomorrow at roughly the same time.
I'm thinking I'll probably skip those late-night festivities though, they aren't really my scene, and besides, I've got stuff to do in the mornings. 😢

And I think it happened right in the middle of a set, probably...

I honestly feel like pushing back my whole trip just to catch that scene in person... 😬

Alex Scott22, if you don't actually buy her a Coke at some point during the night, you're basically a total loser... 🤣

Anonymous said:My girlfriend is heading off to Paris, so I might as well hit this up too... 😬

Look, I'm not your girl, but I'm heading out to Vrancuska myself, so I guess I'll take a shot at this one too... 😬
Honestly, I think our concert lineup is actually pretty solid when you consider how developed we are and just how far away we sit from the major hubs here in the States. 🙂 It’s especially impressive given the extra headache of dealing with all the red tape and logistics that comes with being outside the main trade blocs, which makes it a massive pain for bands to even bother planning a tour through here.
Who can you even blame when you weren't around during the heyday of The Beatles, Idol, Riblja Čorba, or Zabranjeno pušenje... 🙂 :bekelj:
Roger Newman50 said:Alright, but what does that have to do with anything here? 😠

It’s about as relevant as pretty much everything else on this board...

I think I'll just vibe out to Sonic Youth and Colored Program, and maybe catch the rest if I feel like it...

Yeah, sure you will. ☕

Dream on, man... that ship has sailed.

First time I've ever heard someone link Zero Dent to Ivica Beljan... honestly, what a weird take... 🙏 🙏 🙏
