I really wish they’d just bring the train here.
Just so I could catch a ferry from Martha's Vineyard down to San Diego, watching all those middle-aged—but still holding it together, mind you—German tourists in their white linen dresses fluttering in the breeze as we pass by.
Then maybe stop at the market in Jadera to grab some killer tomatoes and even better peaches. 😳
After that, I’ll head down to San Francisco.
Get a little wild, drink like a fish, and just lose myself in the music at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
And then, the next day, I'll just kick the bucket on some random commuter train headed toward Chicago...

🙂 Seriously, just let them come. 🙂

Even for a second, that band description actually caught my eye, and Manhattan 😍 is basically my dream destination, but since my take on Sigur Ros is pretty much the same as Pen's, I think I'll just take her word for it and skip getting into this band altogether...
🙂

Everyone thinks they’re an expert, but honestly, nobody actually knows anything...

So, NoMeansNo is a done deal, but as for Trans Am, there isn't a single word about any upcoming shows on their site or even the Trilogy schedule...

I’m asking if anyone actually in the loop can weigh in—are they coming or what? What's the deal with tickets, and does anyone have more intel on the lineup? If TA actually pulls through, I'm definitely in...

Oh, and where can someone actually crash in San Francisco? I'm way too lazy to go camping on a beach... I'd much rather just pay for a hotel, though I doubt you can find a single night available in July. Are those old ladies down by the station still running cheap motels?...
Just a heads up, please don't drop any hostel links here, unless you want the mods to start losing their minds and handing out bans... 🤣
Sonic youth? 😬

It's a cycle. Honestly, I haven't even changed much: twenty years ago, I was obsessing over bands that were already in their twenties, and now I'm chasing after groups that are practically ancient by today's standards... ☕

Maybe I just have this weird thing for twenty-year-olds? 😕 😬

Anyway, catch me waiting fifteen years for the FBI and Radiohead to hit the stage again! 👋
Back in the eighties, we were always bitching about how there weren't any decent shows coming through, just a bunch of washed-up veterans from the sixties playing the circuit.
Now look at us, acting all hyped because Neubateni, Pere Ubu, SY, Pearl Jam, Tuxedomoon, and the Buzzcocks are hitting the road...

I mean, for real, most of these guys we’re celebrating (don't even get me started on Dollse or MC5) have been on stage way longer than Alvin Lee or Wishbone Ash ever were when they played in New York City back in the day.
So, what actually changed, seriously, besides the name of the country?
SY 😍

I told this one guy I'd give him a ride out to Newtown, and we agreed on ten minutes after everything wrapped up, so I wasn't gonna flake on him... 🙂
And honestly, I didn't bother mentioning I was feeling pretty damn wiped out and totally drained; since everyone else was struggling just to stay on their feet, they ended up heading out with me. 😬

anyway, you could hear him from miles away.

That’s for sure, there was no way to drown him out... 😁

The intimate highlights of the concert: they start playing some track—I don't even know the titles—and suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits me that I'd been wanting to pick up that Lust for Life Iggy Pop record yesterday, but I ended up getting distracted by other stuff and forgot... A few seconds later, my friend turns to me and goes, "this sounds just like Passenger, right?"🤣 Look at what the subconscious can do!

lower your gaze...
You see that part where your body just splits right in two...?
Yeah?
Look, man, you see those things? Those are called legs...
Basically, we just sit there like a bunch of mindless drones, staring blankly at them whenever some woman decides to throw on a skirt...
Honestly, they could be used as the perfect way to finally tune out the most irritating person you've ever met...
Got it. I'll keep that in mind for next time...

It’s alright, and honestly, once Thomas starts absolutely crushing the drums on those heavier tracks, he really holds his own.

But look, if we're talking about pure raw emotion, there's still this tiny little thing missing—that specific spark of songwriting genius that Mick just can't quite deliver, unlike those two other legends from the BS crew...

Then I started thinking... 😉

I’ve got some solid intel that unknown is gonna be opening for Mick Harvey, man. 😉

He better show up, because I already paid for my ticket... 🙂
🙏 😍 🥳 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 😘 🙂 🙂

Yeah, that’s pretty much how it went down for me...*

Absolute legends.

*not even counting the fact that instead of grabbing a beer, I was busy messing around with some Budweiser...
When the clouds finally broke on this otherwise miserable day, revealing a massive billboard in the sky announcing this epic event, I didn't even blink. I dropped to my knees, kissed the ground right where I stood, and just whispered, "Finally, I'm going." It wasn't until later that the crushing weight of my domestic responsibilities hit me... pulling me away from Elvis, from Matt, and from everyone else on a date that feels cursed by fate. My tears will probably end up floating in some enemy's chili, and people might try to cheer me up at some roadside BBQ, but it won't work. Because for a poor soul like me, alas, Elvis's concert is destined to remain nothing more than a dream...

😢
it's Saturday...
my buddy's getting hitched...
😢
damn...
round two...
Honestly, this is just boring...
The cooperative concert over in Gary, back when it was more than a year ago, was easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen... somehow, I haven't caught them since. Maybe I should check back in if there's anything actually worth seeing on MTV.

Honestly, we should just get some country artists on board and record a polished cover of "This is not a folk song." Or maybe I should just pitch that idea to Oprah... she might actually listen...😕
Just grab some Pink Floyd. Or at least get a Spotify subscription. ☕
I could do it.
Got plenty of time on my hands.
But honestly, I’m just not feeling it right now.
Gonna try to grab a nap once I'm off work, so if I actually manage to wake up at a decent hour, I might swing by...
