Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Thomas Roberts9 said:Look, honey, since you missed that first pill, it’s been about two months now—assuming my math is right—which means you started your current pack quite a while ago and you should be protected!!!!

If you think you conceived back then but are only just noticing symptoms now, that would really only happen if you took a pill twelve hours later than usual. But seeing as it was just the very first pill in the pack, I honestly don't think there's any reason to panic.

Anyway, just to give yourself some peace of mind, maybe head to your doctor or just pick up a pregnancy test.

I took it at noon, twelve hours after my usual dose. I was supposed to take Monday's pill at 9 PM on Sunday—since I’d already finished that pack by 9 PM then—but instead, I waited until Monday around lunchtime. Then I realized I still had Monday's dose left, so I took that one at 9 PM too. That's more than a twelve-hour gap, isn't it?

It’s not funny to me... based on everything I’ve read on this forum, it’s entirely possible to have a normal period while on the pill and still be pregnant...
For the last five days, I've been sleeping until 1 PM, and when I finally get up, I feel completely exhausted, like I've been out digging ditches all day... and I haven't done a single thing.🤷

Is having my period while on the pill a guarantee that I'm not pregnant?😕

I just took my second pill from a new pack. I used the previous pack correctly, but I totally messed up the one before that. I didn't start on Sunday like I usually do; instead, I took the first one Monday morning around 11 AM, and then had to take the "Monday" pill again at 9 PM because the local pharmacy was out of stock...
After that messy pack, I got my period. And after this second pack too—just a few days ago. This time, the bleeding was heavier, bright red, and full of clots.😕 Does that count as a guarantee that I'm not pregnant?

I'm asking because lately, I've been feeling inexplicably exhausted and a little lightheaded...😠

I have a question that might sound a bit silly...
I’m taking Logest, though I was on Yasmin before switching over...
I’m halfway through this pack of Logest, but I ran into a little hiccup with the last one...
Since my first pill is always on Sunday, I didn't pick up my refill until later last time. When I finally hit the pharmacy, they were the only one open, but they didn't have them in stock. Because of that, I started the next pack a day late—on the ninth day of the break instead of the seventh. I took the delayed pill around 11 or 12 the next day, even though I usually take them at 9 PM, and I also took my Monday pill at the usual time of 9 PM that same night.
I continued the pack normally after that. I had sex with my boyfriend without a condom, but he hasn't been ejaculating inside me... that only started at the beginning of this current pack.
What are the chances of pregnancy in this situation?
Just to clarify, he hasn't ejaculated inside me AT ALL since I started the pill; that only happened during this current cycle.

Help... I'm a total panicker.😁

Thomas Roberts9 said:I wouldn't recommend it; honestly, you’re better off calling your OB-GYN first thing in the morning to see what they advise, because you might end up having to wait until your next cycle altogether.🤷
I'm really not sure... I don't know, but if I were in your shoes, that's definitely what I would do.
Alternatively, maybe you could just take the first dose tomorrow morning and then stick to taking them in the morning for the rest of the month?
It's probably best to just check with your doctor first.👍

I mean, I doubt anything catastrophic will happen if I start tomorrow, since my boyfriend and I have been using condoms along with the pill for the last two weeks anyway...

Is there ever really a line between the two, or is it all just shades of gray? kaže:
You'll be there later; I was there yesterday. 😂 😠

Is there anyone actually smart enough to weigh in on this? Or maybe someone who’s already been through this exact mess? 🤔

I already know your answer... it’s never an issue for you. 😁 You shortened your cycle by a day and that’s it... nothing's actually going to happen. 😉 Only the last one gets drunk the day before... or does it?

I was planning on starting my new box of Logesta today, but I didn't actually pick it up until now. I headed over to the 24-hour pharmacy since it's Sunday, but they were out of stock.
Is it really a massive deal if I just start tomorrow instead?😠
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
I think my period is starting, even though I still have five pills left in this pack... I'm on Logest (third pack)... before this, I was taking Yasmin for about 8 or 9 months before switching over to Logest. Everything seemed fine until now...
Actually, I'm not even sure if it's a period, but I noticed some brownish discharge today...😕
Should I be worried?
Laura Mendoza said:Do you work out? And if so, have you noticed the weight change in how your clothes fit, or just on the scale?

It’s in my clothes, and honestly, it’s obvious just looking at myself... even my boyfriend noticed.
I don't exercise..
I have an appointment with my gynecologist today.
Laura Mendoza said:Not quite. It’s totally plausible to see a 1–2 kg jump on the scale due to water retention—especially during those first few months on medication—but 4 kg? That’s a stretch. Have you noticed your appetite ramping up lately, or have you been sticking to your usual routine?

To’s perfectly normal for them. Sadly. 😢

My appetite hasn't increased; if anything, it was worse when I was on Yasmin. And I didn't gain a single ounce on Yasmin. I've been on Logest for two months now and I've already gone up four kilos... I'm not even eating anything differently than usual. 😢
For example, I weighed myself the night before yesterday and I was 59 kilos. The next day, I barely ate anything—hardly any food at all. I weigh myself again that evening and I'm 60 kilos. How is that even possible?
Has anyone else here dealt with weight gain from birth control?
I was on Yasmin and my weight wouldn't budge from 123 pounds... now I've been on Logest for two months and I'm already up to 132!??!?!
Do you think I could get back to my old weight quickly if I switched back to Yasmin?😢

Carl Rodriguez98 said:Oh, thanks. 🙂 I'll make sure to tell my partner to wait at least a week before pulling out. 😉>

Have you noticed a major difference between Yasmin and Logest? I actually made the switch to Logest primarily because I was dealing with intense dryness down there. That was my only real side effect (aside from some heavier 🙂), but honestly, it was unbearable. I mean, what’s the point of birth control if you can't even enjoy sex normally?

I made the switch to Logest for that exact reason... everything was great the first month, and I finally started feeling lubricated again...
but now it feels like I'm drying up all over again... and it's actually worse... I'm losing my libido too... whereas with Yasmin, my drive was perfectly fine... 😢
So, look at where I am now...
my breasts have gotten bigger on both sides... 🤷
And on top of that, I've been feeling pretty irritable lately, though I'm not sure if it's the pill or something else...

Carl Rodriguez98 said:It’s an interesting point you’re making, though I find myself wondering if we might be looking at the situation through a bit too narrow a lens. While there’s no denying that antibiotics play a critical role in fighting off bacterial infections, saying they are the only thing that makes a difference feels like we're overlooking a whole ecosystem of recovery. Of course, when you're facing a serious infection, antibiotics are often the heavy lifters—the frontline defense, if you will. But if we consider the broader picture of health, isn't it also about how our immune systems are functioning, our nutrition, and even just getting enough rest? It’s almost like looking at a car repair; sure, you need the specific part to fix the engine, but you also need high-quality fuel and regular maintenance for the vehicle to actually run smoothly in the long term. I don't mean to suggest that medicine isn't vital—far from it—but I think the body's own resilience plays a much larger part in the equation than we sometimes give it credit for. What do you all think? Are we leaning too heavily on the quick fix, or is the science pretty settled on this being the primary factor? 😉 And that’s really all there is to it.

I have a question for everyone here. I’ve just switched from Yasmin to Logest. I made sure to take a seven-day break in between, just like my doctor, Dr. Ginić, advised. However, I'm feeling a little confused now—should I be using any additional protection for a certain period of time? 🤷 I’ve been reading through some of your posts here, and I noticed something that caught my eye. It seems like most of you didn't actually take that seven-day break when switching to a different type of pill—you just moved straight onto the next pack without stopping. Honestly, seeing that has left me feeling a little bit confused about how it all works. 😕

I also switched from Yasmin to Logest... My doctor told me to start Logest after the standard seven-day break... That’s what the instructions say, too... but she didn't mention anything about needing extra protection... though someone else here mentioned needing backup for the first week of Logest...
I didn't bother with extra protection, but my boyfriend doesn't finish inside anyway...
So, I don't really know. 🤷

But yeah, you start them after the seven days...

Gerald Palmer3 said:What’s the birth control pill you’ve been on the longest? And honestly, are you still dealing with painful periods?
A few months back, I switched from Yasmin to Logest, and ever since then, my period cramps have been absolutely brutal. I never had this issue when I was on Yasmin. 😕

It’s actually been the opposite for me. I had brutal cramps when I was on Yasmin, but since switching to Logest, they’ve completely vanished. Isn't that funny how it works? 🙂 It’s all so incredibly individual.

silverangler0 said:I'm currently on my fourth box of Yasmin—just a standard daily pill, nothing fancy—and my breasts are still killing me. Like, seriously hurting. They feel super hard to the touch, too, almost like my glands have decided to go on strike or swell up overnight.
So, I was wondering if any of you ladies have dealt with this kind of breast pain lasting longer than three months? It’s getting old. Even during my break between packs, they still ache—it’s just constant.

My experience: the soreness didn't even start until my third pack of Yasmin... and it hasn't let up since. 😁 They’re just as tender and hard to the touch, blah blah blah...
So I switched over to Logest. During the first month on Logest, there was zero pain, but now they're absolutely killing me.😁

Brenda Diaz said:I've been on Yasmin for about eight months now. I have just four pills left in this pack before I make the switch over to Logest... has anyone here actually made that transition from one to the other? I’m curious what your experiences were like moving between these two... As for the Yasmin, I didn't deal with too many major side effects, though my libido has completely vanished 😠 and, well, my breasts have definitely become quite swollen 😍...

I was just like you—switched from Yasmin to Loestrin after 8 months, and now I’m halfway through my second pack of Loestrin...
I quit Yasmin because of complete vaginal dryness (it was honestly miserable 😳), mood swings (though those settled down eventually), and my breasts hurt almost constantly (even if they did grow a full size 😁). My libido stayed fine, though.

Basically, the first month on Loestrin was great. My breasts were swollen, but they didn't hurt, and my natural lubrication came back... everything felt fine...
But now, on the second pack, the issues are back. I'm not dry anymore, which is a plus, but my breasts hurt TERRIBLY. They're swollen, heavy, and hard again... and my sex drive is completely gone. I had sex yesterday and it just felt wrong, like I was forcing myself to do it 😢 and I couldn't feel anything at all...
We'll see how things go from here... 🙄

Try rinsing it with some chamomile.

No, it isn't. Barley water doesn't itch; it just makes your eyelid swell up and hurts like hell.😠
UFO sighting? in Health ·
So...
What could be going on with my upper eyelid? It’s barely noticeable, just slightly redder than the surrounding skin, feels a bit rough—like there are tiny flakes—and it ITCHES like crazy.
I think it hit my other eyelid too, but that cleared up pretty fast...
this one has been bothering me for a while now.
What am I looking at here?? 😕 And how do I fix it?
Might as well mention that it's spring, my allergies are acting up, and I wear contact lenses... just throwing that out there. 😁 Maybe that matters. 😁
Struggling with the approach... down there in Women's Health ·
I went to see my dermatologist for the exact same thing, and she just tried to put me on antibiotics 😲
I told her I wasn't interested in taking antibiotics for a minor issue, and honestly, it cleared up on its own in just two days 😁
Can I take 3 Motrin? in Health ·
There was this time a toothache hit me so hard I actually thought I was having a migraine. It was brutal—I was literally banging my head against the wall just trying to find some kind of relief. My mom ended up running to the pharmacy, basically begging the pharmacist for something strong enough to knock out a horse 😁. Eventually, she felt bad for us and handed over some Aspirin.
I took one, and after thirty minutes, there was absolutely nothing. Zero. Zilch. No relief whatsoever.
That said, those Aspirin tablets really pack a punch, so you probably shouldn't overdo it.
Maybe try some Aspirin 👍
