Air embolism: What are the risks? in Health ·
Thanks. It was definitely more than just some minor hiccups—one part of it felt totally hollow... and I don't know, I start spiraling whenever things just go sideways on me like this...
I went in for what should have been a routine surgery, but five days later, I’m hit with a fever that I’ve been fighting for ten straight days now. Now they're treating me in the hospital for sepsis, though honestly, looking at how things have played out, I’m not even sure if that’s actually what’s happening. To make matters worse, after taking those antibiotics from the ENT specialists, my liver levels took a hit—which I'm hoping is just a side effect of the meds—and so on... basically, I'm stuck dealing with all of this on top of everything else because of someone's sheer negligence. At this point? I don't trust anyone.😕

Sam Hall15 said:Generally speaking, if I may just circle back to the beginning of this discussion, the minimum lethal dose for an average adult is roughly 40 mL—just providing some information for academic purposes 😉

I had a bit of a momentary panic attack... I’m currently hooked up to an IV, and right after they got everything set up, I looked down and saw—without a doubt—air bubbles in the tubing that had just gone straight into my vein.😕I don’t know exactly how much, but one thing is for certain—it's incredibly dangerous, even if you think you could just jump right in without a second thought.
Has this already happened, or is there a chance it could happen later down the road?
I need an answer ASAP! Please!

Relax, the odds of that actually happening are basically zero—just forget about testing altogether.

As far as my own eating habits go, I can tell you this: I haven't touched anything besides water for years. None of that deep-fried junk, nothing breaded or greasy—I haven't even gone near a burger, a slice of pizza, or fast food in ages. My diet is almost entirely vegetables (a mix of cooked and raw), clean proteins like chicken or lean beef, whole wheat pasta, rice, low-fat cottage cheese, and plenty of healthy fats—think flaxseed oil, fish, and walnuts—plus some Vitamin C supplements... honestly, I couldn't be any more disciplined if I tried. (Of course, once in a blue moon, I’ll cave and grab a slice of pepperoni pizza or a dessert with extra sugar 🙄

Thanks for the well wishes.
So, I finally saw my doctor, and she’s convinced there’s something going on with my cervical spine—which sounds just lovely, doesn't it? Now she’s sent me off to see an ophthalmologist, a neurologist, and I have to get a Doppler ultrasound on my neck vessels.
It’s going to be one of those endless waiting games while I try to navigate the scheduling nightmare of getting all these appointments set up.
She didn't even bother sending me for blood work yet, though.
I am incredibly active when it comes to sports—I definitely don't lack movement or anything like that—if anything, I’m actually struggling because I can't seem to get enough sleep or actual rest. 🙂

For the last three or four days, I’ve been dealing with this incredibly weird sensation in my head—it isn't exactly a headache, but more like
this constant, subtle pressure. On top of that, everything around me feels just... off? Like
I’m looking at the world through a different set of eyes, or maybe it's just that things feel heavier—like my vision is getting blurry when I try to read letters. I'm also dealing with
occasional bouts of mild nausea.
Because of this heavy feeling in my head, basically everything I need to get done (aside from sleeping, obviously) feels pretty
exhausting.
Is there any chance I’ve actually pinched a nerve because of this terrible bed I’m currently sleeping on? My back has been killing me every single morning lately... I’m really hoping it isn’t something serious, even though I’m starting to get pretty anxious about it.
I’d love to hear what you guys think.
