DIE HARD...I mean, come on. It’s easily the greatest title in cinema history.
🙂
I honestly cannot believe someone is actually out here trying to defend this movie...🙄
If this Butler guy actually intended to get his revenge—and let's be honest, the man clearly has the technical chops to build those kinds of contraptions—he should have operated out of some high-end hotel suite instead of letting himself get hauled off to a cell just to pull it all off from behind bars 😵.
I mean, how do you even manage to dig a tunnel through a solitary confinement unit? Between the structural foundations and the sheer amount of noise those machines would make, there is zero way you could ever dig a tunnel like that by hand 😲.
A federal prosecutor goes and burns an inmate and half the prison along with him 🤷.
Man, this movie really got under my skin because it actually started out strong and had all the ingredients to be a total masterpiece!
A total clash of the titans!
Personally, I thought it was a solid flick. The way they put it together was pretty engaging, the scenes were well-shot, and I actually liked their vision of the future. Plus, the ending didn't rely on those tired tropes—no massive explosions, no endless fireballs, and no body count of wounded soldiers just for the sake of it. That kind of stuff has been getting on my nerves lately. Take something like FPS, for instance, where it’s just constant submarine battles, artillery strikes, and thousands of soldiers dying left and right. It gets exhausting. For me, it's a 7.5/10.
I’m actually planning to give it another watch soon, just to make sure I didn't miss any of the finer details.
It’s not a bad flick, but I wouldn't call it anything groundbreaking. Just as a heads-up if you haven't seen it: there's this part where the guy ends up paralyzed because the doctor—who happens to be the girl's dad—basically carves him up so he can't move anymore. It definitely leans into those brutal, visceral scenes...🙂Still, it’s worth a watch if you're in the mood. My rating: 8/10.
The story kicks off with some real momentum, but honestly, it just kind of loses steam halfway through. The ending felt incredibly cheap—just this forced, happy little resolution where the girl ends up marrying a junkie with a wrecked back. Suddenly, all his massive problems just evaporate in five minutes flat. It’s ridiculous. I also thought Nicolas Cage gave a pretty weak performance here; it felt somewhat artificial to me. I really feel for Val Kilmer, though—watching him sink into these totally minor roles is just sad. And I couldn't wrap my head around his reaction during that arrest at the end. When he suggests they just kill the guy and grab the drugs 😕😕! Like, what does he have to do with that stash? He wasn't even involved in those "operations" with the lieutenant.
Eva Mendes is way too stunning to be playing a streetwalker; she looks more like someone who'd marry a tech billionaire. This role just doesn't fit her at all. Plus, there were a few scenes that left me scratching my head—I honestly don't see the point of them. 🤷
On the bright side, the movie doesn't lean too heavily on the old version, which is a plus. But let's be real: the original was much better, which isn't exactly a shocker. My rating: 4/10.
John Taylor19 said:Honestly, this movie is a solid 10/10. I’ve spent years actively dodging it like it was some kind of plague, but I finally stumbled upon it by total accident the other day, and man... I am so glad I did.👍
I just finished watching it. Honestly, it’s a solid story, but I have this weird thing about foreign films—I just can't seem to connect with them on the same level as an American production. There's just something about that domestic cinematic feel that hits differently for me. Rating? I'll have to think on it.
7/10.
I’ll definitely give it a shot. Honestly, I’ve been skipping over it for ages because every time I see the cover art, it looks like some low-budget trash you'd find in a bargain bin at a CVS. But hey, since you’re vouching for it, I'll finally bite.
I can't even begin to explain why people keep bringing this up, but here we go again. It’s like everyone suddenly decided they had an opinion on this specific topic out of nowhere. Honestly, I feel like I'm living in a loop sometimes. kaže:
I’ve tried to sit down and actually finish *Inglourious Basterds* more times than I can count, but honestly? Every single time, I end up pausing it or just giving up halfway through. At this point, I think I’m officially over it. My brain is just totally checked out from the whole thing. I'll probably give it another shot in a few months once the hype finally dies down for me, but for now, I'm done. 😛
Give it a fair shake, seriously. Personally, I thought the movie was fantastic. In fact, I’m actually going to go against the grain here—I wasn't expecting much at all, but man, did it blow me away.
Regarding movies I actually had high hopes for but haven't sat down to watch yet—and before anyone starts listing all the flops they hated, because let’s be honest, half of you completely missed the point of the prompt—I don't know. Maybe just this one lately...
Law Abiding CitizenI’d heard nothing but good things about this one—people were raving about the cast, and I was honestly holding out hope for a solid, gripping script. But man, was I disappointed. It felt incredibly naive and just completely detached from reality.👎
