Zaba fan possibilities in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Does anyone know if the Z%B fan covers potential motorcycle breakdowns while traveling abroad?
My girlfriend and I have that fan, and we're gearing up for a pretty long road trip on our bike...
thanks
Look, you don't go to a jeweler for this; you go to a professional piercing studio using a needle. Those cheap piercing guns? They’re mass-produced in China and made from god-knows-what kind of junk materials. Plus, when a gun fires, it basically just traumatizes the tissue, making the healing process take three times longer than it should.
So, if we're judging by that logic, getting pierced at a jewelry shop is about as professional as going to a guy at a hardware store to get a key cut. I'd ban the whole lot of them!
Anyway, I really hope the kid is doing okay and that the piercings healed up fine.
One more thing... honestly, it would have been much better if you had just used a sterile medical needle and some high-quality jewelry to do it yourself. Anything is better than those jewelers and those awful piercing guns. Just gross.
John Wick (2009) in Movies ·
I don't know... those guys are total weirdos to me. They basically only gave us the Matrix trilogy; everything else they’ve touched is nothing special in my book. Assassins was a decent action flick, but nothing to write home about. Bound was pretty mid too, though I'll admit it had some good scenes :-). V for Vendetta is easily their best work, aside from the Matrix series itself. As for Speed Racer, I couldn't even finish it—it felt like a movie strictly for kids under 14. It’s wild, but as far as I know, that’s all they’ve ever done, which feels like a pretty small resume to be getting worshipped like the Wachowski duo. Especially when you consider the rumors that they actually lifted the idea for Matrix from that book "Third Eye" by Sopha Steward. I haven't read it, so I can't say for sure, but the trilogy is so good that even that wouldn't ruin it for me. My point is just that I don't get these people at all. I'm hoping Ninja Assassin turns out to be a good one, though. We'll see how it looks at the end of the year...

It was a tough call... but I'm going with The Matrix
Body of Lies (2008) in Movies ·
The movie was alright, but nothing special. I might give it another shot once my schedule clears up—maybe it’ll actually click then...😕
The absolute highlight of the whole thing is when Guns N' Roses kicks in during the credits, right as the letters 🙏 start rolling

Who is the greatest Sci-Fi director? in Movies ·
Ridley Scott and George Lucas, hands down, though I’ve gotta give my vote to The Wachowskis. Maybe it's just because The Matrix was such a total revolution for cinema in general, and I'm honestly hoping they pull off something that massive again... I know plenty of people don't see it that way, but that movie hit me harder than I ever expected.
Still, every director mentioned in this poll is a legend in the Sci-Fi genre with a completely different style, so there's no single "best" one in my book.
I honestly think the depletion of oil and similar energy sources will just push us faster toward artificial intelligence. I don't see a > scenario playing out; it’ll be more like a Terminator or Matrix situation, though certainly not anytime soon. We’ve evolved too much to just descend into total warfare over oil. To me, running out of oil hits corporations and governments way harder than it hits the average person. Because of that, they'll find ways to offload as many jobs as possible onto machines and computers—which, if you ask me, is already happening much faster than we "ordinary mortals" realize. Plus, Hollywood has shown us repeatedly that whenever AI gets involved, things rarely end well. It’s like when you’re using a vacuum; you finish up, unplug the cord, and the machine is dead until you plug it back in. The real trouble starts when the machine *knows* the floor is dirty and decides to start cleaning on its own—then one tiny glitch in its bits and it decides to vacuum *you* instead... I could probably go on about this forever, especially after a few beers, but it all boils down to a fear of machines. I work in IT, so I know enough to actually be a little spooked by certain things... I'll give you another trivial example that might seem irrelevant, but I think it illustrates the point:
We all have computers and mess around with them constantly, and usually, after an installation, you need a restart. Recently, I installed an app and a prompt popped up saying something like, "Restarting in 20 seconds, save your work now or lose everything." It didn't screw me over because it was a simple task, but someone a bit less tech-savvy would have been left with zero options in that moment.
Some people are going to laugh at my post, and some maybe won't...
